Came out after work in town to find my Skyline had the handle popped, dash cowling torn off, ignition barrel on the ground and wires flopping about.

Fortunately it was still there but it certainly does f*ck me off that you can't have anything decent and not have to worry about it all the time. I usually borrow the missus' car when i know i have to leave it places but seriously does make you wonder about the scum out there. I really hope somebody other than the 5 0 catch the people out there who are doing this as they need to be taught a good old fashioned lesson.........

Hopefully there's not more stories like this but with plenty of scumbags out there it wont be im sure

Damn dude sorry to hear, what time did it happen? and how did you get it home? Crap there really must be some complete D#$ks out there targeting Skylines, Thats it mine only leaving home when i'll be with it all the time! Might pay for everyone to keep an eye on sus people out the front of thier house in case they are finding out daily patterns.

Oh and i've said it before, leave the Line locked up at home and drive something like this..........http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=137059 It might not be anywhere as good as driving the Line but hey, it only takes them once to take your car!

Fark....i know mine was stolen, currently with insurance assessor. Hope that these guys get caught as obviously someone has developed a way to easily get through the skylines door locks. Out of curiousity where was this abouts? as i know down here at Morphettville and Edwardstown they have been targeting all forms of imports in the last two weeks!

It was on the outskirts of town, got an immobiliser and alarm but really who pays too much attention when alarms go off these days. It's sad times when you cant even leave your car somewhere without stressing constantly. I'll be on the bus and once it's fixed will debate whether it's even worth all the hassles of keeping it. Hopefully can convince the old boy he needs another car in the stable!

just get like alarm/immob. Its the first thing i did after i got my car.

i was at a mates place one night and there were 5 cars parked out the front, my 32 and 4 other average cars. all of them got broken into except mine, as they saw the flashy light and just didnt wanna risk it.

so it pays to get an alarm and at least 2 immob installed.

after reading all this theft stuff im thinkin of geting the removable steering wheel thingy.. just for exta extra security

    • I had a 1981 ALFA with an electronic speedo sender that would work for months at a time, and also noth work for months at a time.
    • Yes the gear for the R33/34 is different, it is red and has a different number of teeth. My part didn't come with that gear though, so I don't know how many teeth are on the red one. You'd have to reuse the 260RS/R33 gear, as long as it's not destroyed.   Haha, as unfortunate as that might be it was working fine for about the first 1500km I've had the car for now.
    • Update all   thanks to the workshop manual, it lead me back to checking fuses as mentioned central locking and door open lights worked when acc was switched on. diagram attached shows two points of power 1. ACC and 2.  Batt with the later being fused (#28) I did check the fuses using a multimeter but I must have stuffed that up also. Went back and checked the batt fuse in interior fuse box and you wouldn’t believe it… a blown fuse. replaced fuse and everything is now working as it should including the climate control   thank you all with your positive insight and knowledge.

    • Duncan is correct. Pitwork (and Toyota's own cheap brand "Drive Joy") were primarily created as brands to sell other manufacturers car parts. It would be weird if Nissan sold parts for Toyota vehicles with a Nissan logo on it, so they created Pitwork to sell parts for other brans Toyota, Honda etc. They are not the same as Nissan genuine parts, although they *do* meet Nissan's standards for replacement parts. They aren't supposed to be a substitute for genuine parts, but a cheaper alternative that is better than Ebay fake parts from you-know-where.
