wow!! look like everyone has pulled out... well that about the same story with most of my mates that put their cars down on the list :P ....

I guess we beter make the dyno day some other weekend.

So, my appologies for pulling out so late but I will have to miss out on this one.

For all the people going 'have a great day'!

I'm not impressed with all of this at all .... except for Matt that has a serious family emergency, it's not fair to say you'll support something then back out at the last minute. It bodes very badly for future events and where will we be then? Why go to all the trouble of organising something only for people to say they're going to turn up, then back out at the last minute. (And I wasn't even involved in organising anything btw).

/end rant

Its a damn shame. We have to support organizers of events especiallly tuning shops as they have the backing to kick these things off. I know its an opportunity to drum up buisness, makes sense. Interstate seem to have a lot of events such as track days quite often - something I would like to see more of or should I say see at all. Morpowa are doing the right thing. RPM are doing the right thing. JMS drift days. Tilbrooks has events for SVD as a sponser. I hope this is a good day with reasonable numbers as I would assume Morpowa will think twice later and we will end up with nothing. I know people had legitimate reasons however it would be sad if people are leaving to follow others.

Just thought it should be said.

Timmaay.

Have a go. Then at least if you do any mods you have a baseline to start from. I am new to Skyline/Nissans for the last few years converting from V8 Commodores so I am intersted to see the older cars. Not embarassing at all. You could say I might be embarassed by GTR's its all relevant.

Very well said Greg (grepin). To be honest I didn't have any reason to do another dyno run 'just yet', but "was" intending to go to support SAU involvement. A recovering wife would've become ex-wife if I did.

It's workshops like RPM, Morpowa, Tilbrooks etc that are instrumental in helping the import scene grow in SA. We, South Australians, are very lucky to have the number of decent import specialist workshops that we have, given our relatively small population/size.

Talking of dyno runs, I will be hitting the dyno next Wednesday. Got a new custom dump pipe being made & the dump/front fitted with heat wrap. Add to that a few other exhaust system changes & tune tweaks. Should be a touch louder if nothing else :P

Whatsisname,

Hope all is well this weekend for you & family.

The mods sound great.  RPM doing it?

Yep guys Tan is well :( Not as mobile as she'd like atm but getting there.

The lastest round of mods & dyno runs are being done at RPM. I'll be spending the day getting my hands dirty too (polishing stuff mostly). It would be nice to see a dyno run on the Morpowa dyno to use as a comparison, Martin would be the man to see for this ;)

Graham,

Hope your wife is doing well mate.

    • That looks good, but I think you're going to need much beefier side skirts now.
    • They are daft and there's a reason it never caught on. Steering feel? We don't need no stinking steering feel!
    • I gotta pull you up on this. It's driving me crazy. A shutter is something that closes, like over a window or in a cmera. The word you want is shudder. That LSD is clearly f**ked. Take it to a diff shop and get it disassembled and examined by an expert. YOu might have plates welded together or something equally crazy.
    • Define "starting to fail". Wy not just rebuild them?
    • Check the Nistune doco. There are a few assumptions being made here that might not be valid. I will list the things that occur to me: Base map. Base map for what? Base map for Z32? Then the cranking pulse width is probably wrong for an RB25. The extra 500cc of capacity might well be enough to prevent it from catching. Base map for RB25? I don't think you can load one of those into a Z32. You have to just make the settings correct for an RB25 in the Z32 base map. That is either K or the TIM to get the pulsewidth right. Loom. You bought a loom for an RB. And you plugged it into a Z32 ECU. Did you make sure that any iwre differences were swapped. From memory, there's at least a couple. And as per the others, I would suggest making sure that the fuel pressure is correct while cranking and that the injectors are actually flowing as expected. They really must come out and go on the bench, unless you do find that you have messed up as per above points. I would also suggest watching in Nistune to make sure that everything is reading correctly. That the correct binary flags are raised at the right time (like the crank signal), that there's no stupid values in K or TIM. That you have not got mismatched firmware for the ECU and/or a wrong image loaded.
