Hey geoff :ninja: I will still want to get an S15 as a daily. Its no GTR but a damn nice car all the same. You must be thinking of someone else, im tall but lucky to push 80kg on a good day lol  I aggree with you, i highly doubt i would ever part with my beloved BNR32 :) I think it will be something special to hand down perhaps or as you say die in it when it all gets too much! I really couldnt see myself fitting a car bra sorry  Perhaps the plastic film..Or just repaint as it needs it.

A few quick shots. Looks a bit of a mess at the moment, needs to have cables plugged in and tied away. Dirty finger marks cleaned off. Still, its coming together and looking pretty sweet. The end result will be one clean Rb26 unit! :D

Your not planning on pumping oil through that motor are you! :O ........... :)

Awesome build up mate...

Hope one day I can do something like this to mine, maybe once I have acquired the coin and the knowledge..

:)

Hey Geoff after speaking with Damian at Final Inspection (best detailers ever.) he put me off car bras. They look pretty average. Dirt gets under them and rubs as the bra moves. this will destroy your paint.

Deren im with you. touch up paint as it needs it.

Thanks Tomek :P

Hey Ron, i'd agree about the car bra rubbing the dirt into the paint, effectively sanding it back. I guess if you keep it clean that wouldnt happen so much but the whole idea of a car bra makes me think of the meat heads in their fully sick commodores. Not the look im after.. Maybe they are more beneficial for a daily driver on a long trip. I kinda like the idea of the plastic film but how easy is it to remove? Does it damage the paint on removal? Etc..

As im sure all you guys can tell my car is going to be a dedicated weekend car, only used in good weather. So i doubt it will suffer from the same amount of damage like a daily driven car would.

Today i took the gearbox back into work so i can soon commence work on it. I'll be keeping you all upto date on that if your interested :D

Hey guys,

If you are looking at a company to rebuild throttle bodies, try Speed Technology in Mitchan.

They manufacture a whole range of their own and can also rebuild, bore out and modify existing throttle bodies.

Cheers

Pete

Thanks for the info poite. There's this joint in Mt Helen that power port everything that also do work on throttle bodies. If you wanna get some stuff ported, they will match port/resize your throttle bodies to the plenum and intake side of the head. I think they are called Specicialised Power Porting?

Deren - speaking of income ( a few posts back), have you seen this thread in QLD..

http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Wa...ic-t218571.html

not sure of your income or if that's a good wage in the land of motor mechanics.. but it might help you financially.

anyway, this car is coming along very nicely.

congrats on the baby and keep up the good work.

Yeh im an apprentice >_< Im not your average age appentice though. Im 27 tomorrow actually :D Getting old! Good luck on the tools mate :)

Blake is my boys name by the way. I should have posted more about him earlier, but figured it wasnt car related lol. He'll be my co-driver and most likely take ownership of the GTR one day ;) He's six months old so he has a little while to wait :)

Haha yeah he loves watching me working on it. Giggles and smiles at me ;) Bet your kids love the 'Silv'

Yeah, they do love it. I occasionally drop them to school. Always make sure I ask whether they want to go in the Silvia or the old Sigma Turbo. Funnily enough, they never choose the almighty Siggy.

Oh, and it seems it's your birthday, Happy Birthday.

Hehe yeah poor ole Sigma. Thanks for the birthday wishes :bunny:

Gotta pay off some of my credit card so i wont be doing much work to the GTR in the next couple of weeks unfortunately ;) Keep you all posted.

    • Bah! I can't see the point in custom number plates at all. I went to the rego office, fished through a box of "premium" plates (the ones that had the "not as tall" option for the front plate) and picked the one that had a 32 in it. That's the limit of the effort and cost I will put into number plates. The only plate that I'd consider paying for would be 2332, but that's not possible here because it already exists from probably 90 years ago, and it would cost a fortune to obtain it, if it were available.
    • After chasing my tail with LS results..... and cheaper than a turbo swap... How confident are you that the dyno is accurate relative to other results? How fast is the car - What MPH does it actually run? Is this similar to what people running this power would expect?
    • Hi mate I am having an identical issue with my 98 R34 GTT. The engie suddenly cuts out under load at about 3-4k, black smoke out exhaust. Almost feels like traction control kicking in. No CEL but still going to check codes later today. Car was sitting in the shed for about 5 months before hand and only idled a few times, took her out with about 1/4 tank, filled up and thats when the issues started happening.  Threw on a spare set of coils/harness and checked plugs which was no help. Recently had fuel pump/filter changed so surely thats not the issue unless condensation in fuel, I just havent had the time to drain it It's running a hi flow turbo, bosch 1000cc injectors, walbro 450L, Z32, Nistune etc... All about 2000km old.
    • I always wonder where the obsession with legal/illegal spacing on number plates in the UK comes from. Because it comes up in comments in every UK-based video I see on youtube. From my point of view all of your plates look a bit odd. Just because there are no markings whatsoever. In Australia we have the state that has to be on it. In Europe you get stamps and state logos. Yours look a bit like a throwaway draft that people then stuck with. And attached with blu tack so that it falls off at the slightest disturbance. Not trying to hate, but it's interesting how things are done in different countries. Do you have to follow a lettering convention when choosing a custom plate?
    • Hybrid sounds like a supercharger... It's half a turbo, with a belt to drive it! Oh wait, they're just called super chargers...
