My car dosn't meet the emmision laws (most emission controls were removed by someone) if i got told, ur cars not meeting epa standards i'd say, well shit it aint and hey i know that, so ill make it meet em.

fair enough of what your said, i dont think we should blame the police when and if they feel they should enforce the laws, remember, they dont make the bullshit laws, there just following orders..

but i do think some of the laws are a heap of crap

just cause epa regulations exist, doesnt mean that they are fair and should actually exist! i was told by a mate that blow off's are illegal, not sure if its true, but if it is then thats just a ****en joke! i bet no one can give a decent reason as to why it should be illegal. It makes me wonder though as to why cops don't put more effort into acting on crimes that the public actually cares about. Maybe murders, rapes, robberies, assaults etc. You know actual bad stuff that is damaging and harmfull to people! I guess cops must be frustrated having to drive the joke of a car called the Holden crapodore haha. More likely it's the rampant corruption.

Its easier to make extra $$ from canarying innocent people in cars than actually doing some police work and catching rapists, robbers etc!

There does seem to be a bit of a blitz on modded cars. I havent fallen victim, but my car doesnt really scream attention so i fly under the radar.

At the end of the day, think about all the times you have done dumb ass, stupid shit on the road, and thank your lucky stars that you werent caught all those times. Im sure most of us are still way ahead.

And to the narrow minded idiots who pigeon hole police as being bludgers, corrupt, scum, well that just pisses me off to no end. You obviously have no idea about policing and whats involved, so go ahead and be yet another village idiot running the streets spewing nonsense.

...and whilst im still in a lousy mood. I do believe the saying is you "have to give respect in order to receive", not the other way around.

Bitch about the courts and the politicians who frustrate police just as they frustrate the public...

Im going to bed now, hopefully ill be in a better mood in the morning.

What a crock, don't do anything wrong, and they can't dick you for anything.

Simple.

yeah right!

can u tell the difference between going 52km/h and 54km/h in a 50 zone? Cos if u did 54 u will get dicked!

I did nuttin wrong and have been dicked plenty of times.

Bloody hell.

You guys are real funny. If the speed limit is 50, and you are going over the limit you deserve what you get. Simple as that

You took a chance, and got done. Bad luck.

If you were going 45, in a 50 zone, and the copper books you, then you DO have a reason to complain.

i agree that if you're doing over the speed limit, then if you get booked you only have yourself to blame. But i don't agree on how the cops put so much man-power into stopping road infringements, especially those comitted by sports cars. Especially when there are much more important matters that they should be dealing with, such as the scum drug dealers, murderers, rapists, car thiefs, gangs etc. I think the whole of society would be more thankfull if more effort were put into these areas then fines for not driving to the laws. But, i guess the cops don't make money when they catch murderers, rapists etc

Its no good complaining how much the fines cost, or how many points the bastards have given you.

It is a bit like spending big dollars on gambling or booze, then complaining how much it is all costing you.

If you drive sensibly, and within the law, the cops will just ignore you, just like they ignore 98% of motorists.

If you want a racing car, that looks and sounds like a racing car, and you drive it like a racing car on the street, of course the cops are going to pick you out. Simple really.

Especially when there are much more important matters that they should be dealing with, such as the scum drug dealers, murderers, rapists, car thiefs, gangs etc

It comes back to training people, thats why they have major chrimes, detectives, specially assembled task forces, etc, etc, to combat certain areas of chrime.

Dont think the person pinging you for 5 over the limit has any idea on how to find informants, get warrants, organise surveillance, and collate a brief for court.

They may, but highway is highway, thats what they know, and is only a small part of the police... and imagine expecting you/I/public to drive responsibly out of respect for one another lives if there wasnt a police presence on the roads.

All arms of the police service have a function to fill, and i for one have no problem seeing them carry out that function.

... that said id feel ripped off if the RTA/Police read a post about a track day, only to sit at the gates and get a few of use for bald tyres after a day of thrashing responsibly around the track.

I dont think this will ever happen, hell a few times ive seen local Police come to have a look at the cars doing some track work, that was pretty cool, should happen more often.

actually i was at a track day and also some 1/4 mile runs and on the way out of willowbank we were all had the MRD and the cops going over the car, some were defected for wearing semi slick, this was done at the 1st overpass bridge after the bp there.

PUBLIC RESPECT IS EARNT NOT INHERITED.

umm.. i don't like cops - they're not doing their job..

A breach of road rules now and then does not signal the downfall of society.. But these days it seems like if you speed or do a burnout or something you are some big crim about to rob the nearest bank.

Please, its easy targets, and easy money for them. No investigation required, no complicated procedures, no complicated paperwork, no having to deal with drug dealers and people who can make a cop's life dangerous.. just stick a cop car there, pull somebody over and make at least $100 revenue just like that. Its easy policing and easier than investigating a "real" crime.

The other nite i saw about probably 50 cops in various capacities (booze buses, patrolling around).. Were they policing any other crimes other than road rules? didn't look like it to me.. What a waste of money and resources that WE are paying for.

**** 'em is what i say.. and i am old enough to know better, but my attitude hasn't changed. I'll be driving the same at age 40 and very much alive thank you.

Nobody would have this attitude if they hadn't had some negative dealing with a police officer in the past in some way where they think they have been unfairly treated.

    • I guess one thing that might be wrong is the manifold pressure.  It is a constant -5.9 and never moves even under 100% throttle and load.  I would expect it to atleast go to 0 correct?  It's doing this with the OEM MAP as well as the ECU vacuum sensor. When trying to tune the base map under load the crosshairs only climb vertically with RPM, but always in the -5.9 column.
    • AHHHH gotchaa, I'll do that once I am home again. I tried doing the harness with the multimeter but it seems the car needed a jump, there was no power when it was in the "ON" position. Not sure if I should use car battery jump starter or if its because the stuff that has been disconnect the car just does send power.
    • As far as I can tell I have everything properly set in the Haltech software for engine size, injector data, all sensors seem to be reporting proper numbers.  If I change any injector details it doesnt run right.    Changing the base map is having the biggest change in response, im not sure how people are saying it doesnt really matter.  I'm guessing under normal conditions the ECU is able to self adjust and keep everything smooth.   Right now my best performance is happening by lowering the base map just enough to where the ECU us doing short term cut of about 45% to reach the target Lambda of 14.7.  That way when I start putting load on it still has high enough fuel map to not be so lean.  After 2500 rpm I raised the base map to what would be really rich at no load, but still helps with the lean spots on load.  I figure I don't have much reason to be above 2500rpm with no load.  When watching other videos it seems their target is reached much faster than mine.  Mine takes forever to adjust and reach the target. My next few days will be spent making sure timing is good, it was running fine before doing the ECU and DBW swap, but want to verify.  I'll also probably swap in the new injectors I bought as well as a walbro 255 pump.
    • It would be different if the sealant hadn't started to peel up with gaps in the glue about ~6cm and bigger in some areas. I would much prefer not having to do the work take them off the car . However, the filler the owner put in the roof rack mount cavities has shrunk and begun to crack on the rail delete panels. I cant trust that to hold off moisture ingress especially where I live. Not only that but I have faded paint on as well as on either side of these panels, so they would need to come off to give the roofline a proper respray. My goal is to get in there and put a healthy amount of epoxy instead of panel filler/bog and potentially skin with carbon fiber. I have 2 spare rolls from an old motorcycle fairing project from a few years back and I think it'd be a nice touch on a black stag.  I've seen some threads where people replace their roof rack delete with a welded in sheet metal part. But has anyone re-worked the roof rails themselves? It seems like there is a lot of volume there to add in some threads and maybe a keyway for a quick(er) release roof rack system. Not afraid to mill something out if I have to. It would be cool to have a cross bar only setup. That way I can keep the sleek roofline that would accept a couple bolts to gain back that extra utility  3D print some snazzy covers to hide the threaded section to be thorough and keep things covered when not using the rack.
    • Probably not. A workshop grade scantool is my go to for proper Consult interrogation. Any workshop grade tool should do it. Just go to a workshop.
