just polished my rocker covers looks fully sick

Recommended Posts

well I finally got around to do it and it was well worth doing. I wet (crc) sanded it with 1200g paper and wiped it off and applied some autosol. Then I buffed it of and used a wet 1400g paper really fine stuff for one more round and applied autosol and buffed it off to a nice shiny polished look...I'll post a couple pics of the finished look....I'm quite proud of the outcome put a big grin on my face........ :D

Sounds nice.. mine are like that but started to fade a bit.. Needs another strong polish. Nice long break so might do it while i'm bored.

What sort of buffer did you use? Just one of those drill attachment things?

predadtor666 - yeah that's the one, guy at work told me that u can spray something on, its supposed to stop it from fading it might be some sought of clear coat

inark got not camera dude sorry maybe tonight :D

rocker covers come off easy as.. all u have to do is take off centre black plastic covers, as if u were doing spark plugs... then there are i think, 5 phillips heads screws on each side of rocker cover.. then just lift off..

dark - i agree! i want pics.. also, how long it take?

Thats very nice r31skyline.. sexxxy... Motivating me to get off my ass and start detailing my bay a bit more.

Did u sand back the plenum and all that yourself or somebody else do it for you? Looks like a lot of sanding involved, but seeing the result i wanna do it :)

Um... it's a DavePro job :D

That's what men are for. ;)

He does the polishing, and I tell him what I want done next. :)

Then I get him to take bits off so that I can paint them.

I have the riciest car on SAu....

It's all looks and not much power ;):D

Oh well.... these things take time.

    • I know people cry at the price of the Getrag 12-14k for a conversion now, but it really is a nice mid point. Not going to get change from 10k on a gearset installed.  $30k++ for sequential.   I know you run the risk of a damaged used one and parts are hard to get but as a street car gearbox its really hard to beat. If you enjoy a more traditional manual, its the choice no question.
