hi guys

anyone know if there is an aftermaket plenum to suit an r34gtt? im after one with a front facing throttle body.?

why dont the ones for r33 fit r34neo engines? is it only because of the fuel rail? what other mods would need to be done if any?

thanks

Justin

They don't bolt up to the head. Completely different.

I have heard of an R33 one fitting with some new holes drilled into the head and some on the plenum but haven't seen it.

You could get a custom one for the top half only made up fairly easily.

There has been talk of a couple being available soon but soon just keeps stretching out into infinity.

Are you 100% sure, i havnt tried it, but only as i havnt had the parts at the same time, i am pretty sure they are the same bolt pattern, The injectors and fuel fail mounts are different.

OK now the greddy r33 plenum does fit the r34.. lets put that to bed now i have one on my car and no problems..

hey guys

1

im not saying anyone is wrong or wright here, (as i have no proof and havent tried this yet) but i find it hard to beleave nissan would change the bolt pattern on r34 to be differrent from r33, so can anyone 100% confirm the pattern is different or is it just what ppl have been told?

2

is the top half of the plenum the same pattern as r33?

3

IF IF IF the patterns are the same, all that would need to be changed are the fuel rail+injectors?

4

Mario, More info please!!!!!!! i know it sounds like a stupid question but are you 100% sure your engine is a Neo? if it is we know a greddy plenum will fit! please give us more info and photos.....i want a greddy plenum soooo bad so i can tidy up my engine bay.

so can anyone give a 100%confirmed answer for the top 2 answers?

thanks

Justin

theres a guy on the forum user name: 600hp who makes custom plenums for R34 GTT. very good quality and price, flow more/better than most jap name brands I was told. just send him a pm. cheers

you could always cough up the money for a RIPS plenum...but the greddy one does fit, you'll have to use the r33 iac and fuel rails iirc.

so the patern is the same and the greddy plenum will fit yaaaaa...

i hate to sound dumb or ignorant,(but i am a simple deisel mechanic) can someone post up a pics of the r33 IAC (idle air control valve) and an r34 one?

what about the traction control throttle body?

i would like to set up a Q45 throttle body is it easy to set up? eg electrical plug, how to set up tps?

thanks

Justin

This 600HP plenum; does it retain all the R34 bits like fuel rail and injectors? Got a photo?

i believe itis compatible with the factory fuel system, with larger throttle body too. best to pm the guy.

cheers

    • Hello Liam - HA - somewhere in flies - possibly I have an update, but I have been so busy, projects have taken a back seat to getting business back on track.  I will let you know the outcome, but I think I am going to go for the 8HP,  CHEERS.  ELVIS
    • Thanks Joshuaho96, yes - as someone else also suggested, the 8HP seems the 'smart choice' - HA - and ZERO to do with cost, but I am sure 8 speeds will be better than 6 speeds - HA - maybe.  I will purchase a new 8HP,  Thanks.  ELVIS.
    • Nobody said anything about getting a "...cheap Falcon box..."- it was JUST a question about a specific transmission.  And YOU may have a problem with not enough $ - HA - I do NOT - so please keep your comments like you are some financial guru to yourself.  BUT - much appreciated re the cost of a new 8HP and I twill probably be the way I go.  Thanks.  ELVIS.
    • Most people I know in the BMW world are swapping 6HPs for 8HPs. The 6HP has a big issue with one of the clutch drum bushings wearing out shockingly early which leads to them going into limp mode going into 5th/6th gear as the oil pressure loss from the worn bushing causes clutch slip. Even with the adaptations in shifting the TCU can't bump line pressure enough to keep the clutches from slipping and burning. I've personally looked at a 335d with 6HP28 with one owner and ~90k miles on it and the transmission adaptations were way out of spec and even though it nominally drove ok I'm confident it would have needed a full rebuild sooner than later. Other than that they're fine, but the 8HP doesn't really have weird issues like this to my knowledge and they're in everything these days so pulling them out of crashed cars isn't too hard.
    • There is an ABS pump and a few solenoids. You could trigger the front/rear solenoids with a pressure bleeder attached with a Consult 2.
