Hey Guys.

I have searched!

Car r33 gtst S1 Auto

Im running the new gt3540-IW

with a built bottom end and a standard head + cams

So my question is who has got to 300 kws at the wheels with standard cams and then replaced them for some poncams?

Most serches i did came up with about 20 kws as an average over the rev range, but most were all in the low to mid 200 kw range! Does this increase as the flow / Kws increase?

Cheers Darren :)

Darren,

If your question is only related to High end KW's the Poncams will not get you there. These are designed for road...so responce and Kw's are higher through your rev range and really does not peek 50kws at top end.

If you are only after a 1/4 Mile car....HKS step2 type cams with heavier springs , retainers and higher lift

is what you should look at....oh you need a thicker head gasket aswell.

These Cams will give you up to 50+Kw's at the higher revs...but will be a dog to drive around with :) .

Hope I have been of some help.

Cheers

oh u bought the new internal gate gt35 ? hows it go i orderd a internal gate gt30 waiting for it to arrrive cant wait !

very nice!

i would say its a little to big if your running a manual, but the auto loves the gt35.

the gt30 would be a nice compromise.

and im not looking for huge peak power just all thru out the rev range, and i figure the poncams have got too be better then standard cams

do u think il be expecting alot of lag ? supporting mods wil be 740 nismo injectors, ems system,044 fuel pump,z32 afm custom dump intake pipe and cooler pipe etc, wat kinda power u reken i could achieve ?

cheers sam

what size exhaust A/R did you pick?

mines a .82 and i see full boost by 4200 with stock cams and gears.

so you should be fairly similar i would say, although mine being auto helps bring the boost on.

power ?

maybe get to 400 hp if the winds blowing the right way. but you might need some more mods, and a rebuild if you get to excited with the boost.

i havent heard of anyone having the new gt3040r-iw yet so you might be the first!

as i was with the gt35!

where are you getting it from?

dang 400hp lol ? id be so stoked if i got that kinda power lol i dont think id make that tho im hoping for atleast 350, and im getting it from sliding peformance, i plan on getting some poncams early next year

dunno what the fuss its all about...I make about 300 with std cams..although I have got new cam gears just havn't fitted them yet.

I cant get tit there with my crap clutch atm

Id be intrested to rtead more about new cams...although I'm happy with the output...thats enough for a rwd.

Sammie don't confuse the GT30R (GT3076R) with the GT3040R (GT3082R) . The first one is less laggy and comes std with a port shrouded compressor housing and is more than capable of the 3-400 Hp you seek . The second one will be more laggy as well as physically larger in the compressor housing so harder to find space for .

GT3076R uses cartridge no 700177-5007 , GT3082R uses cartridge no 700177-5014 . Confirm with Slide . I not long ago stripped a turbo for someone else here and it was not the one they thought it was . You MUST be sure of the part numbers , also be CERTAIN the integral waste gate housing is the genuine Garrett GT30 type for best results . If possible get pics from the supplier . All this gear is expensive and very much so if you have to do it twice instead of once .

Cheers Adrian .

i left my car to get tuned yesterday and its was making 260rwkw on 16psi and he still had heaps of tuning and boost left so i will find out today! ohh and thats with a gt3076r 0.82ar

get some hks cams as stated above i got extra 51kw with headgasket and retune..

so what power are you at at the moment and what turbo are you running?

As mentioned above the stage 2 cams need all the other goodys to go with it! are you using them or just the stage 1 cams?

    • Yes I can see how that would put you off HFM, especially with the price of good quality brake fluid. From what I understand it as you say the BM50 is the standard BMC for a R32 GTR, I must admit I would like to go far a Genuine Nissan BM57, but lack of cash prevents that at present. With the price being so close between the genuine BM50 and BM57 a BM57 New it seems a better choice as you gain that 1/16 bore size with the BM57, I would be interested in how much difference you feel with the BM57 fitted. I am going to take SteveL's advice in the short term and see how much actually comes out of that proportioning valve vent and save up for the Genuine Nissan part. Thanks for clarifying the HFM failure
    • Thanks mate. I just got the post inspection 1/2 done from state roads when the starter motor packed up, either that or the car alarm system is having trouble.  OEM part number 23300-AA112.
    • Hi, I though I was coming to an end in finding a replacement starter motor for a rb25de neo. I came across a starter motor from Taarks and a message below stating: Direct fit. 11 Tooth count. All below part numbers have been superseded to 11 teeth. Can some body shed some light on going from 8 teeth to 11 teeth apart from 36-month / 25,000 km warranty for passenger vehicles to 12 Month Warranty. Compatible with the following Nissan part numbers: 23300-20P00 23300-20P01 23300-20P05 23300-20P10 23300-20P11 23300-AA111 23300-AA112 23300-AA300 23300-08U10 23300-08U11 23300-08U15
    • Low battery? Maybe check capacity? I know first-hand, on BMWs if your battery drops below 80% capacity, it starts causing strange issues.
    • 8.5 +37 = should fit rear, but I think it'll hit on front. What you want is low 30s/high 20's front, mid 30's rear. That 17" screenshot you posted looks good, I'd run it on my R32 (but that's long dead now). For tyre sizes, my rule of thumb is: 8': 235, 9": 255. But that's just my opinion. Nismo sizes: 18x8.5+35/18x9.5+38 is a good starting point.
