S15 Timing Chain

hi guyz

I'm new to the forum and just recently got a 00 s15 spec s, my question is about timing chain

When should they be changed or how long ???

and the difficulty in doing this ????

Any help would be appreciated

when it gets noisey, change it. usualy the guids fail before the chain however do both at once if this happens. good practice

Its not a job you should attempt yourself. If you don't know how too line up cams and find TDC (Correctly) then goto a shop.

not too difficult. SR20 are quite a piece of work. think they are scheduled for Tchain at 150kms and rebuild at 200kms. thats on aus spec 200sx service book.

cant really tell when the chain is noisey cause the whole engine is a rattely box.

There might be a lot more SR based knowledge on there.
