Hokay , many arguments over this but how can I positively identify the 480 or whatever cc side feed injectors . There must be a colour and part number on them so can anyone state 100% what it is . Everyone seems to agree that JDM manual S15 turbo's have them .

Cheers A .

I've just bought a set and they are no where near the red shown above.

More a shitty light brown

Is that the 'Teracotta' colour?

(definatley not the pruple ones, seen them before)

I assumed they would be red but now with the 'terracotta' talk, are we saying there are 2 different coloured injectors for the same type?

I'm hoping it's a yes as I'm a tad worried i wasted cash on these 4.

Also, i have a set of 4 brand new ones coming over from Japan. (with a GTR R33 pump...yippee!)

I'll flow test these brown ones and give my results

Also, I'll give a quick photo of both colours side by side.

Oh yeah, I'll also have 2 spare left over for anyone hunting down a set of 4 and need the extra 2 :)

Well, i got em today.

4 brand spankin' new s15 injectors with all rings included.

I also have 4 used as well.

I don't know why but every photo I've seen (including the ones I've taken) look redder than what they are. Go figure??

Here's a comparison of new to old, easy to tell which is which although the old look pretty good too.

..and some pics of the extra parts you need if buying new.

If someone could elaborate on this it could be useful.

Don't know where it was sourced from but considering all the theories on what these flow, it may help.

Looks like standard fuel pressure is 450cc and up to 525cc's under the right pressure? (not sure if I'm reading it correctly)

Ok I gived up searching . Are the seals used on RB25DET (R33) the same as SR20DE/T ?

I gather the O rings are upper and lower on the injectors themselves and the thicker square section seals fit on/in the manifold and the rail locates inside them . What about the other little gadgets - caps of some sort .

Would be good if Nissan (or someone) did a kit of seals to R/R RB25 injectors and if so part number .

I suppose Brighton Nissan spares would be the place to look in Southern Sydney .

    • I don't know, I've never done it that way, but 1. While it is an interference engine, there is still clearance between the valves and the piston at all points in the regular timing cycle 2. There is not a lot of distance before you can't catch the top of the valve stem any more I don't know if 2 is greater or less than 1. But 3. If it doesn't work out you are f**ked, engine is coming out to disassemble so it is a big bet.
    • Semi slicks are horrible for road use, just use a high performance road tyre unless you really need the maximum grip. Noisy, unpredictable (amazing, until they are not), expensive due to very high wear and not good in cold and particular wet. And yes, it is a thing to store cars on stands instead of tyres if you know they are going to be parked up long term.....but who ever realises that a short park is going to stretch into years before it is out again!
    • I know in Australia you'll definitely get above 30c. Parked in the shade in Summer you'll be above that. 😛 But in cooler climates, you might get that warm driving on the highway for a bit, but you'd never get to full heat temp. I'll try and find some of my historical tyre temps between Aus summer and winter (be aware immin the warmer area of Aus too.)
    • I get that taking off the head is best but that's a bit much for "just" valve seals. I was just under the impression that one would be able to rotate to TDC and be able to temporarily drop the valve without losing it and effectively having to remove the head to then recover it. I never knew people actually pushed rope into the cylinder to do valve seals hahaha So just to confirm, just going to TDC will not work? In that case I know when I do valve seals I'll maybe just remove the head and do some other things while I'm there, or just wait until I do an engine build.
