man im really fumed. ive had my car back for barely a few weeks and already its bin damaged. i cant belive the stupidity of the guy. happened in a car park, fairly busy, end of the day, etc etc. just got food for me and my bro so i was on the way home. so just following like 3 other cars down the main lane of the park. just b4 theexit i c a 4wd waiting to turn into our lane out of one of the aisles. think 2 myself, its all good, i have right of way and then as i pass i see him move out of the corner of my eye. b4 i have time say wtf, f*ken BANG! right into my drivers door. look up and the idiot is sitting there wit a stupid 'apologetic' grin on his face. got out and hes scratched and dented my door all to shit while his bumper has nothing more than my paint on it. his excuse? "i didnt see u, just wasnt paying attention". bullshit! you saw the other cars in front of me u had to have seen me. moron. i was able to restrain myself though and kept these thoughts to myself, acted civil, got his details and gtfo of there.

on the way home though was just cruisin along in the slow lane trying not to drive stupid (which i tend to do when pissed). glance in the mirror and its completely filled wit another monkey in a 4wd. the right lane is free but this fool decides to sit right on my ass for a couple of kays. just as we're reaching a set of lights he then decides he wants to be in front. so he switches lanes, guns it, and switches back right in front of me. had to brake hard and switch or risk more damage. i am so sick of this shit!!

/rant.....woosah basti, woosah.

pics soon. just needed to let it out.

I'm with ya on that one... Farken sick of these 4WD drivers. Get the same shit every week on the princess on the way 2 & from work. They sit on ya ass 4eva then over take and speed off like a hero @ 130km. Had a bloody Rav 4 last week try to race me, he was doin 150km... F*@!en idot. :)

Its a bitch what happened dude, good luck with it.

"i didnt see u, just wasnt paying attention".

did u report to the cops, im sure if their was a cop present you could get him for negligent driving as well. "losing control of veichle" is the same shit as not paying attention to the damn road.

badluck mate i had a recent accident at my work too. but the guy was friendly enough to leave a note as i was parked

i was able to restrain myself though and kept these thoughts to myself, acted civil, got his details and gtfo of there.

Good to see you kept your cool especially after such a stupid mistake by the other guy. There are idiots in all types of cars, not just 4wd, but put an idiot behind a 4wd and it gets dangerous. Good luck with the repairs dude.

but put an idiot behind a 4wd and it gets dangerous

lol, tell me about it. I got cut of by a semi this morning in the commo going round a big roundabout. locked it up and slid up sideways beside him about a 1m from his back wheels as he went past then the bastard had the nerve to pull up, get out and proceed to tell me i need to learn to drive. the roads are full of idiots, just need to try and avoid them as best as possiable

either basti or Ommuru needs to change the avatar! it's confusing me!!

Omurru our evil plan seems to be workin at last.....MUAHAHAHA ;)

sorry just had a few drinks so im a little 'happy'. yeah i noticed the similarity b4. i have better pics of my car just cbf changing yet. might get round to it. damage pics will be up in a few :)

nah mate i didnt. to be honest all i really wanted to do was get myself out of there so i could vent somewhere private. plus im not really interested in "getting him" back, just wanna get my baby fixed up.

dam that sucks dude!!! post pics tho!!! tongue.gif

as requested:post-30915-1166796174.jpgpost-30915-1166796155.jpg

the bit i marked in red shows the extent of the dent. and it not a simple dent eitha, its kinda a few merged into 1. but still it doesnt look as bad now as it did b4. lol maybe a good solid buff is in order?

foznice - still confused? hehe

guys i wanna thank u for the replies . this was just a venting session for me. didnt really expect the support

:)

I feel your pain,

The bloke who lives across the road from me has a dirty big Patrol, and my best mate had his car parked outside my place (not opposite the driveway), lol I bet you can see what is coming :(,

The d**khead didn't even look behind him and went straight into it, biggest dent I have ever seen and almost $3000 of insurance to get it fixed, btw he only had a tiny scratch on his bumper, typical

But guess what, it gets better, the guy across the street is a cop ;), I felt bad for my mate, but the look on my neighbors face was priceless.

But yeah, sorry to hear about your car man, but at least he has insurance eh, could have been much worse, hope it works out ok

Regards,

Sean

    • If as it's stalling, the fuel pressure rises, it's saying there's less vacuum in the intake manifold. This is pretty typical of an engine that is slowing down.   While typically is agree it sounds fuel related, it really sounds fuel/air mixture related. Since the whole system has been refurbished, including injectors, pump, etc, it's likely we've altered how well the system is delivering fuel. If someone before you has messed with the IACV because it needed fiddling with as the fuel system was dieing out, we need to readjust it back. Getting things back to factory spec everywhere, is what's going to help the entire system. So if it idles at 400rpm with no IACV, that needs raising. Getting factory air flow back to normal will help us get everything back in spec, and likely help chase down any other issues. Back on IACV, if the base idle (no IACV plugged in) is too far out, it's a lot harder for the ECU to control idle. The IACV duty cycle causes non linear variations in reality. When I've tuned the idle valves in the past, you need to keep it in a relatively narrow window on aftermarket ecus to stop them doing wild dances. It also means if your base idle is too low, the valve needs to open too much, and then the smallest % change ends up being a huge variation.
    • I guess one thing that might be wrong is the manifold pressure.  It is a constant -5.9 and never moves even under 100% throttle and load.  I would expect it to atleast go to 0 correct?  It's doing this with the OEM MAP as well as the ECU vacuum sensor. When trying to tune the base map under load the crosshairs only climb vertically with RPM, but always in the -5.9 column.
    • AHHHH gotchaa, I'll do that once I am home again. I tried doing the harness with the multimeter but it seems the car needed a jump, there was no power when it was in the "ON" position. Not sure if I should use car battery jump starter or if its because the stuff that has been disconnect the car just does send power.
    • As far as I can tell I have everything properly set in the Haltech software for engine size, injector data, all sensors seem to be reporting proper numbers.  If I change any injector details it doesnt run right.    Changing the base map is having the biggest change in response, im not sure how people are saying it doesnt really matter.  I'm guessing under normal conditions the ECU is able to self adjust and keep everything smooth.   Right now my best performance is happening by lowering the base map just enough to where the ECU us doing short term cut of about 45% to reach the target Lambda of 14.7.  That way when I start putting load on it still has high enough fuel map to not be so lean.  After 2500 rpm I raised the base map to what would be really rich at no load, but still helps with the lean spots on load.  I figure I don't have much reason to be above 2500rpm with no load.  When watching other videos it seems their target is reached much faster than mine.  Mine takes forever to adjust and reach the target. My next few days will be spent making sure timing is good, it was running fine before doing the ECU and DBW swap, but want to verify.  I'll also probably swap in the new injectors I bought as well as a walbro 255 pump.
    • It would be different if the sealant hadn't started to peel up with gaps in the glue about ~6cm and bigger in some areas. I would much prefer not having to do the work take them off the car . However, the filler the owner put in the roof rack mount cavities has shrunk and begun to crack on the rail delete panels. I cant trust that to hold off moisture ingress especially where I live. Not only that but I have faded paint on as well as on either side of these panels, so they would need to come off to give the roofline a proper respray. My goal is to get in there and put a healthy amount of epoxy instead of panel filler/bog and potentially skin with carbon fiber. I have 2 spare rolls from an old motorcycle fairing project from a few years back and I think it'd be a nice touch on a black stag.  I've seen some threads where people replace their roof rack delete with a welded in sheet metal part. But has anyone re-worked the roof rails themselves? It seems like there is a lot of volume there to add in some threads and maybe a keyway for a quick(er) release roof rack system. Not afraid to mill something out if I have to. It would be cool to have a cross bar only setup. That way I can keep the sleek roofline that would accept a couple bolts to gain back that extra utility  3D print some snazzy covers to hide the threaded section to be thorough and keep things covered when not using the rack.
