Oh that is strange. Yes perhaps ceramic + 4wd aren't suited.

The ACS guy said they have been getting the same problems with hi-po WRXs, so they fitted Kevlars in them and they have been good for going on 8 months now... Now they're trying Skylines. Seems promising.

Sorry! Didn't think my little clutch story deserved its own thread.

Welcome and chat away

mine lasted over a year of everyday driving and launching few times a week

mines made a little more than when yours was stock slimjim if i remeber correctly you made 172RWKW and i was making 177 i think im making a little more now will find out 26th of may @ PGA's dyno day but will be an AWKW reading

welcome Joanna what side of the city you from

Yeah mines now 245rwkW I need to get it on a 4WD dyno though... Did a few medium launches tonight, grips awesome. Tires chirp a bit then I'm off!

Japan sounds great, wish I could go again!! :pwned: But uni calls...

Actually atm I'm in Melbourne courtesy of an oil and gas company- They flew me over for a job interview all expenses paid :laughing-smiley-014:

I generally reside in the nthrn burbs back home

hey peeps...everyone beware of a white 70's model celica from down south, couple of my mates were at a servo down that way last night after a bit of a hills run and 5 dudes came over from that car and started shit, kicked the shit out of a R32 4DR, including cooler, bonnet, roof, front windscreen, the lot. then attempted to steal the car by ripping him out of it. couple of other people's cars were damaged to.. these people will get what's coming to them. be careful people, far to many dickheads running around having no respect for other people's property..

take it sleazy.....ash.

7000 RPM launch is just silly and is not really needed

7000rpm was an example stating he doesn't bounce it off the limiter and drop it. :)

BUT.... You'll find as you run larger turbo's start making more power you'll be required to raise rev's higher to get off the line without it bogging down.

Even the RB20DET GTS4's get off the line nice and easily with bugger all rev's as they boost fairly quickly and make good boost. BIG turbo's tend not to make as much boost in the lower gears, which is why a stock turbo'd rb can hang next to an rb making 100-200rwkw more with a larger turbo until third gear when rolling on the throttle from say 50-60km/h or so.

Thats gotta suck, down south is f**ked these days all the wanks with white nike hats on the side. A club lock always helps out tho.

Nothings changed from 10years ago.... It used to be Hallet Cove and Morphette Vale when I was hooning around in my teens and early 20's.

Walk the streets down at Hallette Cove was extremely dangerous it = guaranteed bashing by the local 'crews'. Morphett vale was fairly bad. Just be smart; don't stare, don't drive like a dick cutting people off and unless you have numbers ignore if some one try's to start shit, simply don't talk back and most importantly know when to zip it and take off as you don't know who they are.

Its everywhere....

When I was young and silly I had my car kicked and punched just out side of town near melbourne street because I wouldn't do a burn out. Pay back was fun but it did leave me feeling a little flat to be honest.

you know my brain is thinking (after drinking a bit)

that it is not smart for some1 to be up at 6am on a Sunday morning

so clearing i'm not smart

(yes i realise i bagged myself out and i don't care :))

    • @Kapr Haha yeah thats the one. I missed that you had a built up engine, I wouldn't want to run it on there either then. It was good in my situation just to replace the original turbo on a stock engine. @MBS206Yep definitely not a replacement for anything name brand
    • You are selling this? I have never bought something from marketplace...i dont know if i trust that enough. And the price is little bit "too" good...

    • It would be well worth deciding where you want to go and what you care about. Reliability of everything in a 34 drops MASSIVELY above the 300kw mark. Keeping everything going great at beyond that value will cost ten times the $. Clutches become shit, gearboxes (and engines/bottom ends) become consumable, traction becomes crap. The good news is looking legalish/actually being legal is slighly under the 300kw mark. I would make the assumption you want to ditch the stock plenum too and want to go a front facing unit of some description due to the cross flow. Do the bends on a return flow hurt? Not really. A couple of bends do make a difference but not nearly as much in a forced induction situation. Add 1psi of boost to overcome it. Nobody has ever gone and done a track session monitoring IAT then done a different session on a different intercooler and monitored IAT to see the difference here. All of the benefits here are likely in the "My engine is a forged consumable that I drive once a year because it needs a rebuild every year which takes 9 months of the year to complete" territory. It would be well worth deciding where you want to go and what you care about with this car.
    • By "reverse flow", do you mean "return flow"? Being the IC having a return pipe back behind the bumper reo, or similar? If so... I am currently making ~250 rwkW on a Neo at ~17-18 psi. With a return flow. There's nothing to indicate that it is costing me a lot of power at this level, and I would be surprised if I could not push it harder. True, I have not measured pressure drop across it or IAT changes, but the car does not seem upset about it in any way. I won't be bothering to look into it unless it starts giving trouble or doesn't respond to boost increases when I next put it on the dyno. FWIW, it was tuned with the boost controller off, so achieving ~15-16 psi on the wastegate spring alone, and it is noticeably quicker with the boost controller on and yielding a couple of extra pounds. Hence why I think it is doing OK. So, no, I would not arbitrarily say that return flows are restrictive. Yes, they are certainly restrictive if you're aiming for higher power levels. But I also think that the happy place for a street car is <300 rwkW anyway, so I'm not going to be aiming for power levels that would require me to change the inlet pipework. My car looks very stock, even though everything is different. The turbo and inlet pipes all look stock and run in the stock locations, The airbox looks stock (apart from the inlet being opened up). The turbo looks stock, because it's in the stock location, is the stock housings and can't really be seen anyway. It makes enough power to be good to drive, but won't raise eyebrows if I ever f**k up enough for the cops to lift the bonnet.
