Sometimes i can be a little bit too passionate about things, which i have found out can either send you broke very quickly or get you in trouble.............

I so know what you mean :w00t: I have only just ran out of money...but it will go back up again :P and im always in trouble :( lol

lol I just spent that on brake upgrade :laughing-smiley-014:

I know where she is coming from but you do have to have some fun, when a house comes into it....it gets hard to do the things you want :P

True I would live in my GTR but its a bit cramped :laughing-smiley-014:

ah they say "women u cant live with them and u cant live without them"!!!! and there right

Yes we are very difficult at the best of times :P

But we have our good moments :w00t:

So she isnt into the whole car thing?? Does she get to drive your car??

Sinful:

Too true about the house (and wife) restricting things. I have been in my house now for 18 months, and only just got the '33 last month. However, I've only MENTINED about spending money on the car, and already I have been hit with

We need a new fridge,

We need a new bedroom setting

You need to do the weeding

You need to paint the screen in the back yard

You need to put a phone line to the alarm

Blah blah blah,

I've only spent 1 day working on the 'line so far!! LOL

+ your car doesnt spend one week a month out of action!!! and if it does happen to be not running right its generally fixed in less than a week and you can also recover some money from your car when you get rid of it.... last time i tried to sell my missuss i got in trouble!!!

hehehheeeeee (sorry if i offended anyone just trying to be funny) :laughing-smiley-014:

Aww, see that stuff takes time and can be done in stages....that is a bit of a big list

I like how its we and we and then you , you and you lol

Need compromise if you do one thing on the list the you can work on your car next time???

Do you guys reckon a greddy td06 25g + manifold + dump is a good buy for 2g???

Im drooling over this turbo but dont know whether i can spare the cash.

who you buying through?

Im a newbie still with turbo's and stuff so I dont know :P

Chris: LOL at selling the missus. I would NEVER Try that,..... I think it would become "4 weeks a month" out of aciton if that happened LOL

lol

Just wait until you break up (hopefullly that will never happen - especially if you have a house etc together)... then you may try and consider it!!!

i once saw a funny t shirt saying if it has wheels or a skirt you cant afford it and i am just beginning to realise the meaning of that now..

I ended up leaving mt barker just after you did last night as someone got a tip off that the police were coming over due to the large amount of young people with imports hanging around in the cinema car park.

Ahhh i am nackered im going to bed.... peace out!!!

:P Night

Yeah I see those t shirts all the time :laughing-smiley-014:

I have one it says" I drive faster then boys" on the front and then on the back says" Deal with it" It pisses a few of them off :w00t:

Cheers for the tip off on the smiley faces ...(i would hate to see my dogy rating go up to 50% LOL).

I am looking at the one that Hoshima has for sale over in perth (i think it is an 800hp one --> yeah baby!!!!!)... the only thing is if i get a bigger turbs then i have to get new injectors and then an airflow meter, and then prob some splitfires and a new front pipe (as i have a split dump/front that batmbl was selling off the forums some time ago) and then a new dyno tune...... all this as you could imagine is going to cost lots of $$$$$$ and i dont really want to take out another loan... :w00t:

im going to bed, (for the second time) I will catch up on this thread tomorrow morning as i am absolutely exhausted and can hardly walk due to being hacked to shreds in soccer today...... peace out!!!!

your new job will fund it nicely

alternately, keep it for a lil longer & buy a GTR :P

Totally offtopic has anyone here ever done an ambleside road run in under a minute?? (betwen hahndorf and verdun highway?) ps it is pretty hard to get up to the speed limit through those windy bits!

ps when do i lose my 40% dodgyness rating for that --> like my signature

lol... The above qualifies... I can bump it up a little if your tired of sitting on 40%?

Car jack is fine. You will need a reasonable breaker bar. :P

On the note of a big turbo.... Don't go too big as you loose the fun in first and second gear.

Mafia over in QLD has the right idea.. GT30r .63 18psi Water/Meth injection and an easy 295rwkw, all its boost in by 3600rpm. Still has more in it; he's just a little worried about the stock bottom end. Which I wouldn't be. :w00t:

Det is what kills the bottom ends.

S3girl here in Adelaide ran his stocker bottom end Rb30 up to 470rwkw with WI and a big turbo. Quite impressive what a little bit of water and methanol is able to do.

every state needs a wasteland :w00t:

yeah its ------------> that a way :(

How's the car??

Im loving mine and fully got the hang of driving it now :P

car is sooooooo awsome!!! i love being a skyline owner!!!!! such awsome looking cars, and get a massive smile everytime i drive the thing (nothing quite like the feeling of boost, amiright?? =P)

the stairs you get when you pull into petrol stations... they are priceless =)

but it needs a bit of work i thinks, brakes need changing, and there is a bit of fixing up needed on the body work. want to get that fixed up first. also want to do a complete fluid change over, i think its making a slight tapping sound? and dad thinks there is a sound like a wheel bearing playing up as well... oh and suspension, its just BAD!! super hard, even brand new aussie roads are like giant pot holes for me... will get SK to hook me up at some point in time

lots to do, lots of money needed, but soooo worth it!!!

havent got the hang of driving it yet, partly because its manual, partly because its 1000000000000000000000000000000000 times better than my 91 camry =P (and i dont drive it all that often)

i dont have either unfortunately.... i might do the fronts myself (can the fronts and rears be done by the jack in the boot? is it adequate?)

Ive heard the rears can be a bit of pain as the rear seat and parcel shelf has to be removed.

Its either i do it myself or i can get all four done for about $225 which i have heard from other people isnt too bad.

Another thing does anyone have some C-spanners that i can borrow?? PM me a phone#...

or know of where i can get some for cheap (my budget has been totally blown).

Ring Chris from Tyreplus to see how much he will charge you tell him Steve with the 4door 33 told you you will look after him, and you will have change from $225 probably more than you think but i have no idea

no not yet :P

Maybe I will pull the fuse out....havent been game just yet :) I like to get use to the car first

Need to set up the switch in side the car

Red nothing wrong with being passionate about things ;) seems your passionate about writing aswell....

Essays FTW!! :P

siff take the fuse out :P i dont have that luxury

Fishpaste: You car looked mighty fine Friday night, not sure what needs tidying up?

SO: Being a wasteland and a place for general chat, how old are people on here? On the cruise on friday night I was feeling a little old considering my cousin who is 8 years younger than me was there and most ppl seemed his age LOL

Im 26, 27 in 2 months. What's others ages?

    • It was a great, but typical track day, and some VB was ingested at the night time debrief 🤪
    • And so, to round this out, I couldn't be happier to confirm @MBS206 has decided to buy the car. He drove down from sunny QLD with a trailer last week and it is off to its new home today. I'll let Matt confirm on next steps but I understand broadly that the plan is to leave it pretty much as is, and just get some quality wheel time with a nicely balanced car that is pretty much track ready. There are a few a jobs still to be done first but nothing too major and I think its a very smart buy Dinner last night at the Paragon with a round of VBs (mostly) for Neil
    • Well, 50 pages and the end of a chapter for this car. We took it out for a shakedown at Wakie yesterday, and everything went well. There were a couple of niggles: - Oil cooler fitting leak - tightened, cleaned, stopped leaking - Radiator cap overflow fitting was leaking....Mark called it, the overflow fitting was threaded in and not tight....tightened, tested and held pressure - Small oil leak at the rear of the block, probably the turbo oil feed - too hot to get at it comfortably but probably just needs to be nipped up - leak at the driver's side rear brake line where it meets the hardline. Fitting wasn't loose, so Matt backed it off and back on, no further leaks - there's also a leak somewhere on the top of the fuel tank, maybe that cross over fuel line - that was has been left to fix when its on a hoist Otherwise than those niggles the car went great, turned great and stopped great so it was a very successful day out. I'm always really nervous when a car first hits the track after a long break, especially with a brand new engine as well but it was great. VID-20251011-WA0007.mp4  Big thanks to @The Bogan who dropped by and helped out, @MBS206 and my nephew Lachlan the apprentice.  Neil's wife Mel also surprised the hell out of all of us by dropping by; she's up in Tamworth these days but was travelling to Melbourne so had plausible deniability for turning up at the garage, it was great to see her but also obviously a bit sad all round.

    • Unsolicited advice? Keep the engine as close to stock as you can. Nothing wrong with adding some boost and making a little more power, but given where you are, you really don't want to try to make it into a monster. I can't imagine the roads are up to it, and the lack of locla support when it grenades will be a ball ache. FWIW, If there is a dyno around that you can access, then brand new injectors are a good idea, which will lead you to (at least) putting a Nistune in it, which will allow you to put an R35 AFM on it, all of which will make it possible to make it much much nicer to drive and live with.
