i didnt read it that way, cos u said u had been through that and beat it..

still just not the nicest topic to talk about :S

sorry

* blushes * (well thats the closet icon I could find)

Next Subject ! wow, will you look at that up over there !!! (runs while ppl distort their body looking for something up over there)

Tangles I can certainly empathise with living with chronic pain. I've suffer back and neck pain since September 18th 1995 when someone rear ended me doing 80kmhr. It took 6 years to physically recover from that (and another year for the court case to resolve itself) and then I was in another crash in November 2002 (car 3 in a four car collision) where I exacerbated the previous injuries and then add some new ones. 3 months later I was in another four car collision which made things worse again. After a long, slow and (at times) painful rehab program over the next 4 years I was finally back in decent physical shape and management of my pain... And then some lady ran a red light and hit me pushing me over four lanes of traffic and through a fence on the other side of the road. I spent some time in hospital and am once again doing rehab.

The rehab has been extremely helpful in regaining movement, strength and confidence in my body once again. It starts with physio ( twice a week), incorporates hydrotherapy ( 3 times a week) and now I'm doing pilates (3 times a week) that will eventually lead to gym work (3 times a week). I have to be conscientious of my posture in everything that I do and maintain a healthy body weight to minimse the pressue placed on my back. My aim is to get back to indoor soccer - whether this is realistic or not remains to be seen but I believe I will be able to. Again this is about being proactive and doing something about my pain rather than feel imprisioned by it. ATM I take opiates for pain management plus other medication to assist with sleep. My aim is to get off the medication completely as I have in the past.

wow. thank christ Ive never had a vehicle accident - I feel for you mate. back pain can be extremely debilitating.

how do you find time & affordability to do all the activities you need to do?

ie once Ive done my 8.5hrs work for the day I get home asap to spend some time with the kids. and once they are in bed Im too stuffed to do much....... besides sitting in my large recliner and relaxing a little. I'll do some swimming and hydrotherapy, some weight work, and some physio, but its never enough.

my bosses dont even let me out during the day for a walk around the block to stretch the legs, let alone give me an hour off a week (unpaid of course) to see a physio. expected to be at my desk thru lunch as well. will have been here 10yrs come september; cant see myself staying on all that long after that. health has to come first sooner or later.

good luck on your journey writeoff. wishing you well..............

:P that alot of car accidents to be in

Does my username make more sense now?

Cheers. As to how to find the time. Currently not working so that answers current situation. In 1995 I was a uni student workming part time in a retail outlet. As the crash occurred mid-November I deferred all my exams and any outstanding assignments that I had and stopped working for a few weeks and then went back to work on reduced hours. In 2002/2003 I stopped working for about a month each time and then went back to work on reduced hours. However, I only have myself and my dog to look after not a family like you so that makes a difference. As to affordability the accident in 1995 and this year are covered by CTP insurance and in 2002 & 2003 I was working as a drug rep and was therefore covered by Workcover so I've never really paid for any of the treatment.

My computer has been acting up recently and I feel I can relate to the following  . Thought I would share it :P

For all of us who feel only the deepest love and affection for the way computers have enhanced our lives, read on.

At a recent computer expo (COMDEX), Bill Gates reportedly compared the computer industry with the auto industry and stated,

"If GM had kept up with technology like the computer industry has, we would all be driving $25.00 cars that got 1,000 miles to the gallon."

In response to Bill's comments, General Motors issued a press release

stating:

If GM had developed technology like Microsoft, we would all be driving cars with the following characteristics (and I just love this part):

1. For no reason whatsoever, your car would crash........

Twice a day.

2. Every time they repainted the lines in the road, you would have to buy a new car.

3. Occasionally your car would die on the freeway for no reason. You would have to pull to the side of the road, close all of the windows, shut off the car, restart it, and reopen the windows before you could continue. For some reason you would simply accept this.

4. Occasionally, executing a maneuver such as a left turn would cause your car to shut down and refuse to restart, in which case you would have to reinstall the engine.

5. Macintosh would make a car that was powered by the sun, was reliable, five times as fast and twice as easy to drive - but would run on only five percent of the roads.

6. The oil, water temperature, and alternator warning lights would all be replaced by a single "This Car Has Performed An Illegal Operation"

warning light.

I love the next one!!!

7. The airbag system would ask "Are you sure?" before deploying.

8. Occasionally, for no reason whatsoever, your car would lock you out and refuse to let you in until you simultaneously lifted the door handle, turned the key and grabbed hold of the radio antenna.

9. Every time a new car was introduced car buyers would have to learn how to drive all over again beca use none of the controls would operate in the same manner as the old car.

10. You'd have to press the "Start" button to turn the engine off.

Hows your back going black32?

Stopped taking the pills as they were making me go fruit loops, as with the other stuff as well...only on codeine now which sucks.

basically on depression meds to try to get a lvl head, but its slow....

Back is still farked, cant even work on the car as much as id like...im in pain when i bend down to the engine bay so 5 mins here and there is all i can do then im stuffed for the day.

I did pilates for rehab as part of my workcover deal when i first did me back in, but it didnt help at all. Something about sliding up and down a bench and using spings doesnt seem to work for me...

I appreciate you attempt to lighten the current topic but this is a repost from August 2003: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...;hl=bill++gates  which was a repost from even earlier.

Completely changing topics but how come I still have Warn: (0%) and a bunch of bars below my details when no-one else does? I haven't been caught for any of the murders yet...

    • I thought I'd come back and add something I JUST learned. A Toyota LandCruiser with a 1HZ, mates perfectly with a bottle of Nulon brake fluid. As in, it perfectly screws in. Great make shift funnel when you cut the bottom of it off. This may work for your Corolla.   Unfortunately, tipping a 10L drum is much harder than a 4 to 6L bottle, and they no longer include the easy pour tap which was just perfection to use previously.
    • Guys since i bought r33 gts25t coupe 1994 automatic a/t(manual swap 350z gearbox)  all i got is problems, always problems. Lets start with that when i turn key into ignition(ON) fuel pump doesnt always works. Sometimes i have to turn key twice Off/on/off/on until it primes. Its new, dw300 - 340lph. My gearbox broke so i did gearbox swap, install different intake manifold, injectors and i take pipes. Car was sitting in garage for more than half a year. I did assembly all not that long ago and when i turn ignition cant hear prime. All of sudden it stopped working. Theres many videos on YouTube how to make relay mod on r33 straight from battery so i did and it doesnt work! 😰 30 - battery positive  87 - positive from fuel pump to relay 85, 86 - one of two wires from original fuel pump wires(light blue, grey) and it didn’t work. so I check on ignition and took original BLUE relays wires from trunk, next to fuses. (I believe it’s IGN+ and ECU pin 18. it didn’t work…  tried connecting (IGN+ from og relay) and (ECU 104 from 1of4 FPCM wires) to my new relay 85/86 and it didn’t work.  I unplug FPCM. Didn’t work. im thinking what’s wrong   fuel pump is working, if I leave IGN+ on 85 and 86 straight to ground it works but it’s just nonstop. Since it getting constant 12v after key in ON. light blue wire gives me 6-8v.  so how this should be connected? What causing ECU not giving — on pin? Or I did sth wrong and that’s why it doesn’t work? I need negative signal on ECU that control fuel pump. What this should be?
    • You can use your VIN to look up the factory part number somewhere like amayama, and then look to order new if necessary. https://www.amayama.com/en/genuine-catalogs/nissan Depending on price you might want to rebuild instead. @GTSBoy I had an interesting insight into US market parts when the Titan rear calipers were sticking. New calipers were dirt cheap, about 20% more than a rebuild kit....they are just considered throw away maintenance items
    • Funny, but really not funny. Thank god (most) f the world has moved on since then
    • Lots of votes for driving onto a plank first; that is the quickest way I've found, 25mm is enough for my case but that will vary by car It also depends where you are going for. On the 32 I can get to the rear diff with my floor jack if I do that end first, and get it up on stands. Then I lift the front from either front tow hook as high as needed, also onto stands. Sometimes I need a small lift on the other tow hook to get it level enough If I do the front first I can't get to the rear diff because of the angle of the car Other options are getting to the front mount of the rear subframe from in front of the wheel (if only lifting one side, or just do both which is a bit of a pain compared to one lift from the diff), or also the gearbox cross member mount on the driver's side if you are  just trying to lift the driver's side. I This is the jack I use; it says 75mm clearance but of course that is only on the lower section so if you have to reach too far in like the diff you still get stuck. https://www.snapon-bluepoint.com.sg/category/Floor-Jacks/product/Floor-Jack,-2-Ton-Low-Profile
