I use to remember a pyscho tranny in Salisbury east that if you drove past there house and had a loud car (or do burnouts in the street). It would come running out of the house and throw bricks at your car :O:P

I wonder if it's still there..... :laughing-smiley-014:

LOL

P.S Adelaide is crazy!

New??? With 10,000 posts!!!

Where it says Car(s): R32 GTR, 205 GTI it used to say 2x R32 GTR, 205 GTI

The change is more significant in my bank account :P

Yes New! ;)

I had 500 post a year ago when I lived in SA..I move to Sydney and did 9500 post LOL

Oh wow you had 2 GTR's!!!

We have 2 GTR's :P but mine is the one that actually gets driven LOL

Yep I am with you there, bank account would of gone up :)

Which one did you keep? What colour is it? If you dont mind me asking :)

I started the year with 4 cars and am now down to 2... well 1.5 to be exact as the bearing on cylinder 6 came off of my gun metal grey GTR coming back from the haunted cruise we did in May. It's in the process of having a full engine rebuild at Willall but will be another 4-6 weeks before back on the road. At least I can pay for the rebuild now :P

Yeah know that senario well we had like 6 cars between the pair of us at one stage :)

Willall is excellent place to get rebuild tho :O

But cant believe you have gun mental grey lol..I do aswell and cant wait to respray it white...All of my mates have gun mental and I so need to be different :P

What was the colour of the one you sold?

So are you going full aftermarket rebuild or just standard?

P.s sorry I do ask alot of questions ;)

I think it's funny that you want to paint yours white as this is the one that I just sold.

Getting a rebuilt engine capable of 320rwkW but every kW is costing me over $40 :P (including a new PFC and some other goodies)

Aww HAWT! :) well I was going Bayside Blue, but would get wreaked on a track and touches up would be a pain, and have alway's been a fan of white, so next best choice :)

Dam thats what Im aiming 300+kw's on the track...

Well done on the sale I know they can be hard to move the GTR's :)

I hope you come to DECA when the new one is finshed being built...cant let a machine like that go to waste and not see a track of any sort :P

So they name sums it up "writeoff"

I was going to write a comment in your profile but didnt want to offend incase there was some bad incidents *goes all shy*

I know I have been a passenger in my fair share ;)

LOL

what was robbed? her 15 cannabis plants? or her caravan meth lab?

no....

her groceries for the week and money got taken :O

found out today at work that Blockbuster got robbed last night

and some video store in Angle Vale also got robbed :P

It was the fourth time I had sold the car (one guy even left a decent deposit) but I knew the right person would come along who wouldn't stuff me around.

The car will definately see some track time. I was discussing an interstate trip last night with some other GTR owners to go around some tracks (as well as the Great Ocean Road).

The username is explained a few pages back. One of the cars started like this and finished somewhat worse.

Writeoff, congrats on the sale, I noticed that your for sale bit in you sig had gone.

Cheers. I'm sure to still see her as the new owner is on SAU and will no doubt be going on cruises shortly. I never did take a photo with both GTRs next to each other so I'll have to ask for a shoot one day... when its not raining.

Hey people,

The weekend has landed!!

Make sure u get out n about - theres soooo much to do!! Who cares that its winter & cold...

Personally I'm looking foward to the sea n vines festival ... good wine, food food...

W.E. should be fun, pity its a day thing tho!

    • There's plenty of OEM steering arms that are bolted on. Not in the same fashion/orientation as that one, to be sure, but still. Examples of what I'm thinking of would use holes like the ones that have the downward facing studs on the GTR uprights (down the bottom end, under the driveshaft opening, near the lower balljoint) and bolt a steering arm on using only 2 bolts that would be somewhat similarly in shear as these you're complainig about. I reckon old Holdens did that, and I've never seen a broken one of those.
    • Let's be honest, most of the people designing parts like the above, aren't engineers. Sometimes they come from disciplines that gives them more qualitative feel for design than quantitive, however, plenty of them have just picked up a license to Fusion and started making things. And that's the honest part about the majority of these guys making parts like that, they don't have huge R&D teams and heaps of time or experience working out the numbers on it. Shit, most smaller teams that do have real engineers still roll with "yeah, it should be okay, and does the job, let's make them and just see"...   The smaller guys like KiwiCNC, aren't the likes of Bosch etc with proper engineering procedures, and oversights, and sign off. As such, it's why they can produce a product to market a lot quicker, but it always comes back to, question it all.   I'm still not a fan of that bolt on piece. Why not just machine it all in one go? With the right design it's possible. The only reason I can see is if they want different heights/length for the tie rod to bolt to. And if they have the cncs themselves, they can easily offer that exact feature, and just machine it all in one go.
    • The roof is wrapped
    • This is how I last did this when I had a master cylinder fail and introduce air. Bleed before first stage, go oh shit through first stage, bleed at end of first stage, go oh shit through second stage, bleed at end of second stage, go oh shit through third stage, bleed at end of third stage, go oh shit through fourth stage, bleed at lunch, go oh shit through fifth stage, bleed at end of fifth stage, go oh shit through sixth stage....you get the idea. It did come good in the end. My Topdon scan tool can bleed the HY51 and V37, but it doesn't have a consult connector and I don't have an R34 to check that on. I think finding a tool in an Australian workshop other than Nissan that can bleed an R34 will be like rocking horse poo. No way will a generic ODB tool do it.
    • Hmm. Perhaps not the same engineers. The OE Nissan engineers did not forsee a future with spacers pushing the tie rod force application further away from the steering arm and creating that torque. The failures are happening since the advent of those things, and some 30 years after they designed the uprights. So latent casting deficiencies, 30+ yrs of wear and tear, + unexpected usage could quite easily = unforeseen failure. Meanwhile, the engineers who are designing the billet CNC or fabricated uprights are also designing, for the same parts makers, the correction tie rod ends. And they are designing and building these with motorsport (or, at the very least, the meth addled antics of drifters) in mind. So I would hope (in fact, I would expect) that their design work included the offset of that steering force. Doesn't mean that it is not totally valid to ask the question of them, before committing $$.
