Hey Folks,

SAU AGM is coming up this Sunday.

So lets hear from the current comittee - are you standing again ?? What can you bring to the club ??

Other paying members, are you interested in being part of the club ??, If so , lets hear from you.

I wanna know who to vote in for which positions for good of the club and her members.

Cheers,

oh I forgot the other non-executive position of CAMS Delegate is held by yours truly.:)

He he - well there you go Dino, You'll have to stay involved with the club now :D

Hi Dino, re: the paste I did from the R&C - I just thought folks might want to know the process, cause I was just about to post a bunch of questions, but then thought, I'd better read the R&C. I think everyone is flexible with the way the club is evolving.

Good to hear from all the peoples about the elections -

Sorry to hear that some peeps are un-decided about standing again. I reckon the current committee has done a fantastic job. Forming the club committee, taking members, organising the bobbin head meet, starting the CAMS process, getting the Famous Classic Insurance thing going, - I'm sure there are many more things that I have missed too.

Well, if there are some spare spots that folks that aren't standing for, I'm sure there are plenty of keen takers to add some more value to the best car club in NSW - SAU.

We’ve heard from most all of the current committee and who will be standing – but what I haven’t seen is why I should vote for them (no offence peeps). Some members may also not know who has done what for the club in the past so reflecting on that may help the process too.

If I were standing for a nomination, I would be preparing a list of ideas, policies etc, to encourage members to vote or me.

For instance, as a member, these are the things I would like to see out of the club in the next 12 months.

* Recruiting more members - (this is the big one)

More members mean more benefits and more fun

* More member benefits - parts, accessories, services, etc (helps with above)

More benefits mean more members

* Some club merchandise - T-Shirts, Caps, Jackets, etc (more over time)

* Organising more events (cruzes, dyno days, club drag nights, track days)

* Incorporating the un-official SAU positions into the Exec committee (Newsletter Ed and Events Organiser)

* Club social outings - dinners, BBQs, pissups (no drink driving of course),

* Charity events

* Affiliations & strategic relationships with like-minded clubs, organisations and companies

(To help enthusiasts with EPA and RTA defection compliance and avoidance amongst other things)

* Group club entries into various car shows etc

* Various sponsorships to help the ongoing funding of the club and member benefits

* Club business cards for all members - (helps with recruitment)

* Virtual place to meet for club members (eg: private forum – Some of this list may be being planned, but I don’t know about it. And if I don’t, other members might not either)

* Roadmap for club future, with rough timelines (so members and potential members can see what’s being planned)

* Events Calendar - at least one event per month (encouraging as many as the Exec Committee to participate in these too)

* Finalise CAMs process (not much to go, I understand)

* Regular Exec Committee meetings with published minutes

* Raising the profile of Skylines and Performance Imports, responsibly

Just to name a few - - well, we can always strive for perfection right ????

Beasly> :)

So all that said, I might stand for a nomination, if folks are thinking along the same lines as me - that's of course is if there is an appropriate position that's available...(and I am nominated)

If not, that's cool too - as you prolly know, I like to express my opinions and I like to see things get done - So, if nothing eventuates, I can always help "keep the bastards honest...." he he :D

Anyways, thanks for the feedback!

    • A few small updates since the previous post and lessons. I decided to do a little interior light upgrade on the 110. I quite like the iilumo items, even if they're a bit of a premium over other brands. You'll also note the Stedi Fogs, that will go into the S15 fog lights as I needed to match the bulbs since I got the new ones earlier. I hope they fit as the body is quite a bit longer than your normal bulb.  Annoyingly, I managed to trip the fuse, which normally wouldn't be an issue until I located the fuse. I can't say I've ever come across this. I had lucked out that someone nearby had a spare, but oddly enough Toyota dealerships seem to keep this in stock. I ordered some to keep in my stash and as luck would have it, someone else nearby tripped the same fuse so I passed on the favour.  I also did a little service on the 110 ahead of some additional work coming up. It's been annoying that Goleby's stopped carrying this particular HKS filter for the 110, so now I need to keep them on order from Japan. I also took the opportunity to install a bash plate and number plate riser. The plate riser is such a cheap but nice fix to help really tidy up the car. I'm tempted to now also replace my headlights, on this car. Both items were from Project Aero.    I also needed to replace the rear tyres on the 110, and after trying to get it aligned learnt that I need to replace some bushes in the front end, so that's next.  Closing out this update with a nicer picture as always!
    • Yeah mate, never miss it.
    • Any going to watch World Time Attack at SMSP this year?
    • Appreciate the correction on the "ground", that will make a huge difference to looking at this. That makes complete sense about AF70/AF71 which is what I had come down to being the issue, one of these. I'll have another look in the ignition wiring when I get a chance next week. I'll also make up a jumper wire for running that AF73 test.  ECU is fine, relay itself is fine, pump harness is fine and the pump itself is fine. I am going to upgrade the Walbro 255 anyway with a DW300 I have since I need to replace the fuel sender and I'm going to upgrade the FPR with my chasebays kit ready for new plenum/injectors/dbw, but I'll get this working first. That's why this is so frustrating.
