Hey guys

I am about to put on a set of Comp 2 rear pads on my 32gtst, and was wondering if the bedding procedure is still the same as if i was bedding in the front pads. I have RB74's on the front which are already bedded in, so is it a case of me performing the same procedure that i used to bed the rb74's for the comp 2's?

Cheers

Simon

Since the rears only absorb around 20-30% of the braking pressure when the car brakes, IMO you should just brake gently for the first 15-20 KMs and after that they should be fine to give "some."

I tend to agree. Brake gently for the first couple of days, just so that the pad beds to the shape of the disc, and doesn't create hot spots on the pad. Obviously machining the discs also helps to prevent this.

After that give it all you want! The first time you heat them up substantially you'll bed them anyway...

Bedding has never really been a problem for me, as I run Lucas in both my road and rally cars, but provided you don't go out and do handbrakies first spin out in a car with an integrated handbrake, then your rears will very rarely ever give you grief!

the best way to bed in pads is to drive normaly for about a week.

them you need to "fade" them so going from some spasrtic speed. jump on the anchors. what you need to do is basicly make them fade.

this bonds the material together and will give you a much longer pad life.

this is how ve used to bed the pads in on the v8 supercar.
