omg... haha they went for a Holden exec's wheels. I got pics too, shame i din get pics of them kids coz my camera was in the car.

The story...

I come home from work for the last couple of days and I notice that there's a new car on the street a really rusty POS, parked right in front of my house.

I'm guessin dis would be my front neighbours car, and din make a mention of it to any1. Turns out this car was stolen, and has been missing for the last 2 weeks.

I'm listening to linkin park and I hear a clunk, so I turn dat shit down and I go to the nearest window and I see 2 kids running down the street maybe 16-18 yrs old. One of em is short (my height) with black hair (I think) the other is tall n skinny with spikey blonde hair. Only really saw the second guy, think he was wearing a blue jacket or a denim jacket of some sort.

Police rock up 5 mins later and they start searchin the street, so I go out n tell em what I saw. They tell me that there's been a couple of old cars been stolen around the area lately and they use em to transport rims that they steal too.

Its really wierd considering my car was parked in my driveway coz I cbf parkin it in the garage.

OMG... i'mma gonna get them pics outta the PC now.

Sorta funny 2 coz the cops knew this shit was goin on so they were real quick to respond.

Then I got told off by one coppa for not being mo alert, following my statement n shit they took my number and told me they'll b in touch if there was any need. Then he started eyein my car as well, and goes "I wonder why they didn't go for yours instead"...

so i disarmed the alarm and he goes "oh, that'd be why"

I definitely heard em throw a jack away somewhere I think its in the bushes around my house or in the neighbours house. So tommz I'mma search my front yard for sum shit. I told one of the officers about it, and he goes "oh thanks mate we didn't think about that" and goes about lookin for it (coz they were dusting the car for prints so i figgered that there'd be more prints on the jack (well the thingy you jack the jack up with). So I follow him tryin to find it in tha dark and he bends ova to pick up sumfin and I swear to god he broke wind... and I was like WTF... and stopped searchin with him.

All in all a trippy night.

Oh and my neighbour told me that she saw a guy in blue overalls park the car in front of my house and walk down the street a couple of days back.

hhmm... i'd keep my eye's open!

just cause you got an alarm doesn't mean your safe.

My mate had his car alarmed, and somehow they stopped the box thingy from making noise while they went about raping his whole car of his stereo!

That was an eye oper to us all!

    • Yeah, it's getting like that, my daughter is coming over on Thursday to help me remove the bonnet so I can install the Carbuilders underbonnet stuff,  I might get her to give me a hand and remove the hardtop, maybe, because on really hot days the detachable hardtop helps the aircon keep the interior cool, the heat just punches straight through to rag top I also don't have enough hair for the "wind in the hair" experience, so there is that....LOL
    • Could be falling edge/rising edge is set wrong. Are you getting sync errors?
    • On BMWs what I do because I'm more confident that I can't instantly crush the pinch welds and do thousands of USD in chassis damage is use a set of rubber jacking pads designed to protect the chassis/plastic adapter and raise a corner of the car, place the aforementioned 2x12 inch wooden planks under a tire, drop the car, then this normally gives me enough clearance to get to the front central jack point. If you don't need it to be a ramp it only needs to be 1-1.5 feet long. On my R33 I do not trust the pinch welds to tolerate any of this so I drive up on the ramps. Before then when I had to get a new floor jack that no longer cleared the front lip I removed it to get enough clearance to put the jack under it. Once you're on the ramps once you simply never let the car down to the ground. It lives on the ramps or on jack stands.
    • Nah. You need 2x taps for anything that you cannot pass the tap all the way through. And even then, there's a point in response to the above which I will come back to. The 2x taps are 1x tapered for starting, and 1x plug tap for working to the bottom of blind holes. That block's port is effectively a blind hole from the perspective of the tap. The tapered tap/tapered thread response. You don't ever leave a female hole tapered. They are supposed to be parallel, hence the wide section of a tapered tap being parallel, the existince of plug taps, etc. The male is tapered so that it will eventually get too fat for the female thread, and yes, there is some risk if the tapped length of the female hole doesn't offer enough threads, that it will not lock up very nicely. But you can always buzz off the extra length on the male thread, and the tape is very good at adding bulk to the joint.
    • Nice....looking forward to that update
