Seems like fairly low MPH for nearly 500rwkw?

I ran 124mph with 300rwkw.

What sort of tyres did you run?

Cheers,

matt

Anyways i dont care if people believe it or not

i did a 10.8 @129MPH and when you do the maths it works out.

well actually when i run the car

i was using 502 rwhp and 35 shot of nitrous

so prob around 540 rwhp

car weighed 1420 kgs

seems like a lot of wanking about which ECU is better.

We have seen good numbers from most of the ECUs mentioned...so get over it. For 1k the PFC is not a shit ECU.

Ask ur tuner and get something that suits your budget and works well with your other mods. No point spending 3k on a ECU and having a fairly stock setup.

As far as I can see for street driven modded cars thre PFC is the best value for money.

4) use oil for AUSTRALIA MOTOR CONDITIONS

please tell me what oil u are running brand and model. Australian conditions? wouldn't it be more suitable to use oil for the abient temp and DRIVING conditions?

If people actually know how to use the microtech

It is the cheapest and best ecu on the market

Power fc ecus are rubbish cause they chose to keep the AFM instead of changing to a map sensor such as every other brand ecu

If Power FC's are so "rubbish" then why are half of the people on this forum using them???

I have heard and read nothing but good things when it comes to Power FC's which is why i purchased one for myself.

By the way this thread wasnt about ecu vs ecu, the guy asked a question "how much power can a r33 rb25 handle?" in my mind there is no right or wrong answer, it all comes down to how well it is tuned, the quality of the parts used, the conditon of the engine etc etc, i have heard of lots of people making huge power on stock internal rb25's ,there is a r33 over here that has very similar mods to MR331307 , he is also using a gt35/40 from what i have been told, and is said to be making 450rwkw on stock internals ,it ran a 10.7 a few months back (not sure what MPH, was completly stock bodied aswell)

IMO 300rwkw is a very nice number for a street driven stock internal rb25det r33.

well

i guess that im not the only one then am i

everyone should try it

Yeah i dont doubt that you made the power you said you did, i watched all the vids on your site and read your whole thread aswell, was very impressed lol.

There seems to be lots of guys in the usa putting rb25's into silvias at the moment and making very decent power reliable to.

its cold start Cst rating is 195!! hope u drive it under 3k for 15min...even at at op temp its visc rating is 23, thats a thick oil.

However it HTHS rating is 6.1! thats massive..good for decent track work

Another factor is their HPR range is Semi-Sync...not that I'm against semis cos new semis are close to the full syncs.

For hard work this oil would be good i.e. the track...for a daily driver its not my first choice.

ROYAL PURPLE 10W40 all the way! :)

As for ECU, it will only ever be as good as the tuner... however as far as getting the upmost performance, economy and realiability, a MAP sensor based ECU such as Haltech are recommended by every tuner i have spoken to... Apexi PFC is a great plug and play unit however is limited in some of the advanced finer tuning sectors from what i have been told...

Cheers

but how many people actually use it

lot of people here in wa use the d-jetro,x-speed in wa are the best in wa for tuning the powerfc.anthony scali's skyline gtr (888hp at the wheels).people would know that car(n4speed).i think the top 5 skylines horsepower wise in wa all use the d-jetro,x-speed has also developed the d-jetro successfully to use in auto skylines. :)

Autos work fine with plug and plays but with firmer shift and no timing retard or rev limit on WOT shifts but the V500 car do this with a little wiring change and basic ECU setup.

i beg to differ.

if i stall it up at the drags etc,

on two thirds throttle my pfc bounces on the limiter in second gear once or twice then slams into third.

if i then plant my foot it will do the same in third and then try to change into overdrive.

all without moving forward.

why would it cancel the rev limiter on changes?

wheres sydneykid when you need him on the afm vs map sensor debate

my tuner here in nz who's one of the best in the country says afm's are more accurate and the power fc is a great computer.

then i guess because you have an rb25 with 377rwkws that means everything you say is gospel.

there is a guy here who has 450rwkws on the stock internals and ran 10.65 so it definitley can be done

Hey mate

Just wondering who your tuner is??

Yup the grey Japanese Performance series 1 r33 was the one i was talking about earlier, done 10.7 or 10.65 at masterton motorplex, pretty impressive, sounded bloody amazing too!!

my new rb25 is making 757 rwhp without nitrous

Not wanting to get into an argument here, but I don't believe electronics are the japanese strong point. They excel from a basic engineering standpoint with the build quality and tolerances of their motors. Look at most Jap vs Aussie motors and you'll see that the Ford/holden built motors are the ones who use/leak oil etc, while it's the japanese cars that always have failing electronic components (oddly enough). PFC's are so popular because the Japanese have been using them for a long time & get easy and consistant results with them but really they are just a basic adjustable standard syle ecu. Then look at some of the aussie cars using Shit low tech motors and Aussie made ECU's and tuning knowhow, and they break all the rules. V8 supercars is a good example of a basically shit motor tuned within a inch of it's own life.

Short answer is PFC = Easy option/Path well travelled

Don't mean to offend anyone. Just my two cents.... I realise this may be considered an unfair generalisation, but it rings true in a lot of cases

    • Haha, i kow right? Could have bought so many cars for the same amount of money (or less) but driving Unicorn gives you at least +1mln to style 😅. Like wise man said "life's to short to drink cheap wine and drive boring cars" 😉
    • Newbie here, proud owner of an Autech 260RS. I'm on the hunt for wiring diagrams specific to the 260RS, particularly S1. I've ran my eyes through R33, R34 Diagrams, there are some similarities, however continue to find incorrect wire colours and pins on connectors in the 33,34 diagrams.   I was hoping someone could point me in the right direction? I'd be happy to pay for the originals in Japanese. I can translate them, at least they would be accurate.   Any help please would be greatly appreciated, never heard an RB26DETT before let alone driven one, and I've got a spaghetti monster of goodness to sort out.   Cheers Benny
    • Hey all  im wondering if you can help me please I have put a rb20 box in my r34 gtt as my auto packed up and a friend had a spare box I know it’s not ideal but it will get me up and running for now. we have done the conversation and everything is working great but my Speedo we got a s13 speed sensor but my Speedo reads double now and I bought a speed converter but still not having any luck.  so I thought I’ll reach out and pick your brains  any help would be appreciated please as I wanna drive my car again
    • Drain it. I got official Matic D but you can get whatever is listed as Matic D compatible.
    • Thanks guys,  Yeah I should at least have them dynoed, at least then I know what I've got as a starting point.  The springs on these are hard as rocks. I vaguely remember Russman saying he was going to sell the shocks to me with the rocks fitted, as he was keeping the softer springs for his new setup.  I didn't click at the time but of course that was to let me know the shock/spring wouldn't be matched.  I also remember pricing up new springs around 2014-15, but, house, money etc. it never happened. So that was another reason to have them rebuilt. I have rebuilt the forks on many motorcycles so I think I could handle the seals on these easily enough, but getting the valving right would be a rabbit hole I cbf exploring.  Duncan, interesting to hear RP was tuning these back then. I might give them a call.  In the mean time I have been busy fitting sway bars. The Whiteline rear sway bar I purchased 15 years ago finally got fitted, along with the Whiteline front bar that showed up last week. Just waiting on new links for the front sway bar to finish that off.  And my spare set of advan AVS VS5's should be back from the powder coaters in a Pearl White finish sometime this week, with a set of Hankook RS4's lined up for fitting.  And then I just have all the suspension bushes to do. A comprehensive kit is on the way... Lots to do before the Ararat hill climb. Cheers guys 🍻
