I removed the exhaust at the Cat and increased my timing by 2 degrees because of the octane booster advantage. Also modified the front bar for better flow through the cooler and heat wrapped the exhaust the day before, which made noticable difference to intake temps.

My best run however was with the exhuast on.

Thats some impressive power your making out of those relatively basic mods. How long ago did you install the PowerFC, early on or later on?

14.7psi is abit high on the stock turbo, I get told that 12-13psi is a risk on warm-ish nights.

I think if you can get your traction problems sorted (thankgod someone else gets axle tramp, was beginning to think i was the only 1) then you should see a 12.7-12.8 easily.

oh i get axle tramp alright.. although i am not quite sure exactly what it feels like so not positive! If its the feeling where you're tyres aren't quite squealing and your ass end feels like its bouncing up and down while the wheels are spinning then i get axle tramp big time?? so you are not alone.

As far as i can tell the best way to fix it would be get rear suspension as hard as rocks or put 100kg in the boot. I have pineapples as well, reduces it a bit but not enough as i would have liked.

Thats it alright. I think my car launches harder with 2 people in the back then what it does with just myself. The extra weight most deffinetly helps. I've got 2mth old Koni Shocks and 4mth old Pineapples, my last bet is new Dunlop FM901's to replace the Falken ZE502's. If they dont fix the problem (or dramatically improve it) im not sure what else can be tried. I just wish somebody could give a reason as to why it happens (too hard, too soft, wrong setup, etc).

What an awesome result - congrats:) Hope you got another turbo waiting nearby :P

Have you thought about going for a solid alloy spacer in place of the front pineapples - I have heard it can work wonders, just locks the whole thing up.

yer..same prob.. I've got the Falken's as well. It's just that the skyline is not too balanced.. weight distribution could be a lot better for dragging if it was more even. A full whiteline kit would do wonders if you want to spend the money.

I can probably do a bit better and get a mid-13 but not much better i don't think with my current setup and a few tweaks.

Hmmm.. I've only got pineapples on the ass end actually as i thought that was mainly where it would be needed in a RWD. Would I get gains from having them on the front as well?

I was running 17" 35 series tyres with 20psi. The track was ultra sticky. First run I tryed with a burnout and ran a 13.6. After that i decided to skip the tyre smoking and drive around the water, ran constant 13.1's and the single 12.9 after that.

benm: I installed the FC over eight months ago.

111mph! what the!

I think I'll get a 12.9 soon but, 111mph is damn fast and indicates alot of horsepower.

Go the whales!

I think that puts the R32 boys in their place, they need hiflows toget those sort of times :P

What was the 60ft? (I'm guessing a 2.1)

Looks like AIR got its shit together this time! The warmer day time track temp' would certainly help. It was faaar from ultra sticky last s/meet :P.

Damn I wished I'd gone now :P Nightcrawler set a PB this meet too.

Dave,

111+mph is more than some people would have you believe the stock turbo & injectors can manage!

That little stock turbo is a freak for sure :P It provides minimal lag, hence the quick 1/4 even with a so-so 60ft, yet has big top end to run 111+.

Matt,

be very careful about what you upgrade your turbo with. You could go backwards!
