hey everyone.

R32 GTST 1990

Was driving home last night with the usual semi-enthusiastic driving we all like to do. Turned a corner and the car just didnt feel the same acceleration wise. Also going up hills in say 3rd or 4th it will rev to say 2K or 3K and just sorta not want to go past this. Out of first and second it will rev out ok but a lil bit slower then usual.

The stock turbo gauge indicates that it can get full pressure...so i dun think it's turbo

the car also sounds exactly how it should (perfect note) at idle.

such a wierd thing...i turn the corner and power is now only 2/3 of what it should be and up hills can only make it to a certain limit.

I have done my searches and most people seem to report power losses ABOVE a certain higher range (say 5K) mine seems to be just in general not that great a much power as before

I'm thinkin fuel pmup, or piping, or coil packs as per the suggestions in other threads

just wanna know if anyone experienced this problem and what was the resolution??

any help would be great!

fair enough guess i must admit...but....the clutch was put in like a yr n half ago so not likely.

i think it actually MAY have been bad bit of fuel and or sparkies gettin old...cos it was ok to drive today...very odd tho

hey i seem 2 have a problem similiar 2 yours

in second or third wen i flat foot it the car seems 2 jerk at times. feels like its struggling.

must add that it doesnt happen all the time.

its standard apart from cat back exhaust, pod and bov. Car seems fine otherwise.

Had feed back, and there suggesting it could be either:

-fuel pump

-engine coils

spark plugs

Hope that helps :)

hey mate

yeh i thought it could be one of those

there's no real problem at the moment hence i reckon its bad fuel or sparkies lil bit old

with ur car jerking i'd say could be fuel pump.

my mate recently changed his fuel pump in a 200sx and said it was jerking before he changed it.

Just a lil bit of feed back...i dont want to tell u to change anything cos i'm obv not the mechanic.

cheers

    • @GTSBoy This method was able to get readings of -10 to -2, so it looks like its monitoring.  Now I need to figure out why the vacuum on the line provided isn't alternating with manifold pressure.  I went with 2 lines that an RB25 tuner recommended but I'll get a longer hose and try directly off the back of the manifold.  He may have been used to OEM intake setups while I have a DBW setup that removed the MAF and IACV.
    • I work at a car detailing and tinting shop called Quark which gets all manner of German cars in usually (mainly due to a contract with Mercedes Benz Kita Osaka, BMW Nishinomiya and others) but every once in a while something special comes in, like a fully restored 1972 HS30 Nissan Fairlady 240ZG... The shop owner had immediately started applying film to the windows as soon as it was in the shop so the interior was completely covered in towels and plastic sheets. But I could get a few photos of the engine bay which was restored like new. Such an amazing car to see in pristine condition in Japan these days.
    • Was going to say the car pulls up nicely everywhere, especially going into that last long right hander before the main straight. Looks like a lot of fun.
    • Hey Dave, welcome aboard! Good to see another soon-to-be Stagea owner here. The wagons are awesome — plenty of space, still got that Skyline DNA, and loads of potential if you’re into mods. Definitely post up pics when you get it, everyone here loves seeing new builds. What model/year are you looking at?
