im currently doing a single conversion, ive removed the stock turbos and manifold and that shit but i want someone to put on my new turbo manifold wastgate, all the liens zorst, IC piping and all that shit.

if someone could recomend some place to get this done for a resonable price that would be great. im on the goldcoast and will tow the car to brissy if need be.

also would anyone have a rough guess of how much this is gona cost me, only parts i have are the turbo, manifold and wastgate.

u have a pm

mate,

i have come across quite a few mechanics in melbourne and queensland over the last 7 years of driving and i can honestly say that one of hte best, if not the best mechanic i have come across is dan from elite racing. he is on the forums as 3lit3_32 (click here to contact him: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...&MID=10554)

send him a PM and you won't regret it

cheers,

Warren

GT Auto Garage in Newmarket and Option 1 Garage in Hamilton are the only two workshops I would ever touch. Ive been to a fair few workshops in Brissie and these are my pick for imports. They both have alot of time for their customers, wont steer you in the wrong direction and have great advice.

I have heard good things about East Coast Customs but havent been there.

  • 6 months later...
Carmen imports at Brendale just quoted me $500 for timing belt replacement, $1000 for timing belt and tensioners, seals etc.

Then he said $350 for spark plugs, oil, oil filter and fuel filter, sounds a bit steep eh people ?

rofl. No, it doesnt sound a bit steep, It sounds a farkin whole lot steep. If I were you I would look elsewhere.

On the subject of who is good around town and who isnt I will add my 2 cents worth.

I looked around a fair bit before i dived in to the task we have undertaken and i can say without fear or favor that Dan is tops in my book. His level of service goes way beyond and the pricing is unbelievably good by todays standard. That he does house calls just adds another star to his merit badge.

If you are out my side of town another i can recco is Mick from Signature Performance. Another young guy like Dan full of enthusiasm and clever as all getup to boot.

I cant go past either of these guys to the point i entrusted Dan with my hard earned to build and install my engine and mick to do some of my piping, surge tank and most importantly my tune. Its all done except the tune and that will be up and away as soon as the correct injectors arrive and mick has his new dyno installed.

There are a few I met along the way that I wouldnt touch with a barge pole but i wont go in to that here.

^^^^^^Yeah right Noel i know you would touch em with your POLE.

Another vote for DAN from Elite Racing.

Be patient with a reply for a pm he is always busy it will be worth the wait.

    • Details: Turbo Borg Warner EFR 9180 with 1.05 rear housing Upgraded TurboSmart integrated BOV Sanded and powdercoated compressor cover in gloss black Elbow welded with wiggins clamp Speed Sensor(Not included) (Can include oil drain(heat wrapped + titanium intake pipe with almost new filter for a tad extra). Manifold: 6 Boost RB26/30 twin scroll manifold  e-MAP ports drilled into both scrolls(I was using the TAARKS EMAP KIT) Turbo is in excellent condition. Always used Penrite 15w50 Racing oil(Changed less then 2000ks). Also using the Turbosmart OP regulator and filter. Downpipe: 4inch Stainless steel with VBand inlet and outlet clamps(included) Heat wrapped Dual ports for Dyno/Wideband usage Will throw in free 2.5 inch intercooler pipe(2.5inch From turbo outlet to 3.5 inch intercooler) - Powder coated black. Turbo made 563rwkw on mainline hub dyno at around 24-25psi boost - Pump fuel. Will def make over 600kw on e85. Didn't bother as my e-MAP was through the roof with my setup sitting past the choke line. I have a cnc ported and fully built head on my 3.2. Turbine speed saw max of around 109k rpm. I'm running this on my R32 GTR, with AC, and the original power steering pump. The manifold clears the AC lines, ABS, and everything else. Although I had new AC lines because I just wanted new ones and I heat wrapped them as well. This will make more power on a slightly lower capacity motor with a higher PR. And I have since upgraded to a G45-1500. Have pics and videos if need be.  Absolutely nothing wrong with setup. Turbo is in perfect condition. No shaft play or oil leaks at all. All the work was professionally done. The transient response of this is fkn amazing. I cannot rave more about this turbo. If I wasn't chasing 4 figures, I would have kept it. $5000 NZ. • I particularly like the look of the John Player Special team. (Thumbnail isn't different but hit play for the clip)
