Today, I was just walking through macquarie centre carpark, and I saw this ricer in a n14 pulsar with his bonnet up. I just happened to have all my workshop tools in my wagon, so I thought i'd give him a hand.

I asked him what was wrong. He goes trying to change my battery. This cheap arse ricer had gone down to big W to buy a new car battery. He tried to save like $2 by changing the battery himself instead of just going to battery world, or a mechanic. Anyways, he was standing there looking like the biggest tool. HE HAD NO TOOLS. He expected to change the battery with his bare hands.

His car was a big mess. Tehre was acid everywhere. Anyways, I lent him some of my tools. Stood there for about 1/2 hour in bright sun (yeah, I'm really white alright). He got acid on my tools, so I'd have to go home and clean them.

All for what? not one single thanks. Make me think twice about pulling over and helpingn anyone.

Yeah, pretty much. It's not like I just lent him the tools. He didn't even know what the f**k was going on. He almost put the terminals on the wrong way, he was turning the nuts the wrong way. I pretty much did the whole thing for him.

if it was an sau u member u woulda got some beers outta it for sure, or i woulda given u beers if i was in trouble and another person helped me out, like the other i was driving along giving it a squirt and i popped intercooler piping aND LUCKILY JON ( PRIMORDIAL) stopped and lent a hand so i was a ble to get to work.

tsk tsk tsk whenever sum1 dosent say thanks to me for sumthing i just tend to say no f*cking worries then. then i walk off

I do that too - you do a simple, courteous thing like hold a door open for someone as they walk in behind you, and they don't even acknowledge your gesture, so I say "No problem" or something similar clearly and loudly enough so they hear it...

You should have just been honest with him and told him he was an ungreatful bastard... arrogant bastards can't say thanks or even a freaking smile and a nod or some fkn gesture especially when you did some road side assistance for the sonofabitch... or maybe its against his religion to say thanks? Yea we get pricks like that in my area aswell just stare at you like your an alien or something when you try and be helpful and courteous.

The best approach is what Milenko & GoldZilla do.. sarcasm rules!

This is what you get for helping Pulsar owners. :)

But yeah, if some random fellow car enthusiast went out of their way to give me a hand I'd thank them. Offer to buy them lunch, at least.

I realise that most ricey Pulsar owners tend not to be swimming in cash, but surely they could just put off buying another set of Nangkangs or Wanlis for their 18" chromies for a little bit longer and showing your appreciation and showing some level of respect.

P.S. You should have keyed his car in "payment". ;)

They say chivalry is dead? It was the bitches that don't say "thanks" that killed it!! :O

    • Yeah I made that post way too early, sorry I must have assumed it was bad because it's a 20+ year old thrashed shitbox lol. It was just a loose exhaust bolt.
    • Like others have said, drop the power to give your drivetrain a % of reliability until you can up the drivetrain reliability  It isn't rocket science, build power to the weakest link with a % of safety Whilst upping the the reliability of the drive train is costly, there's no point in having the engine make big power if it keeps eating the drivetrain....ask me how I know, I had the tow truck on speed dial for a few years, and I spent huge amounts of money fixing issues and breakages that really would have been cheaper in the long run if I did it right the first time Me, I like a nice sized fudge factor, that keeps me off the tow truck
    • I don't understand what the issue is with, turn the boost down and start saving $$.  As soon as you can afford the supporting mods, turn the boost back up.  If the car is running fine, enjoy it. Turning the boost down isn't going to kill you.
