1992 R32 Nissan Skyline GTS-t M-Spec

approx 213000km

Recently had its major service at 197,000km, in which the following items were replaced:

* Clutch Slave Cylinder

* Timing Belt (Gates Racing)

* Idler and Tensioner bearings

* Water Pump

* Fuel Lines

* Fuel Filter

* Cam Seals

* Crank Seals

* All Belts

* Coolant Flushed

* Gearbox Oil (Redline Lightweight Shockproof)

* Differential Oil (Motul Gear300)

Has a reconditioned radiator with new end tanks (reconditioned approx 6 months ago)

Just replaced the rear rack ends and the rear steering arm balljoints

Front tie rod ends were replaced just after major service.

The car is serviced (spark plugs, oil filter, oil) every 5000km

Religiously looked after by conservative/mechanically sympathetic owner (i.e. car gets driven like your grandparents are driving)

The car made 171.3 rwkw on only 11psi boost

Car has run a 1:03:39 on the Sportsman circuit at Queensland Raceway

Car has run a 1:03:78 on the Sprint circuit at Queensland Raceway

These times were recorded with very little race experience, and i feel there is a lot more potential in the car with a 'good' driver. The car was also only running around 155rwkw at this stage.

Car is registered until July 2007

You say:

Religiously looked after by conservative/mechanically sympathetic owner (i.e. car gets driven like your grandparents are driving)

Then you also go on to say:

Car has run a 1:03:39 on the Sportsman circuit at Queensland Raceway

Car has run a 1:03:78 on the Sprint circuit at Queensland Raceway

Discuss.

Lol.. A track day doesn't = a dead car.. I'd be trusting this guy more than say (person B) e.g. some other guy who says he's never been to the track, has few if any service records and claims a bunch of things about how it's babied around. Because person B's car has most likely been thrashed on the street.

There's a difference.. This guy probably changes the oil before and after his track day (maybe) where as Person B thrashes his car most of the week and does bugger all to his car..

Just my 2 cents.

exactly...

i don't thrash my car on the street, i usually bleed/change brake fluid, engine oil, oil filter, gearbox oil, diff oil, spark plugs etc after a track day, as well as doing an engine oil change beforehand (and i use good quality oils for all of these). When i drive the car on the street, i always warm it up before it sees boost (i.e. it doesn't see boost for the first 10 minutes of driving) and also warm it down for the last few minutes before i stop the car. At the track i warm the brakes, gearbox, diff up and down before and after use. Gearchanges are not hurried and i don't slam it into/crunch gears, as well as rev-matching on downchange (less stress on the gearbox)

There's a big difference between driving a car hard on the track and 'thrashing' the car on the street.

It actually used to have a full GTR kit on it (front bar and spoiler), but with the old suspension, one point of the GTR front bar was 2mm too low, and i got defected for that.... so instead of spending $$$$ on the suspension at that time (i spent it later on though :)) i put on the front bar that you see in the photos to clear the defect.

mate the kilometres travelled on this car are no more (actually, probably less) than 99% of R32's and R33's out there that claim to have '80,000km' or '100,000km' on the clock... only difference is, mine is showing the real reading, not like all the dodgey wound back crap out there...

and also, as said in the Ad, i am slightly negotiable, but i'm not going to let it go for something stupid like 11 or 12k like all the dreamers out there expect

Couldn't agree with you more! Anyone who believes a 15 year old Skyline has 80000km is an idiot. Goodluck with the sale, looks clean and genuine :whistling:

Agreed only the odd rare example would have k's close to 80k. Id feel happy to know what the car has actually travelled.

    • Hi guys . Can someone help me  I bought an Android screen for my Nissan fuga but it won't turn on
    • My guesstimate, with no real numbers to back it up, is it won't effect it greatly at all.its not a huge change in position, and I can't see the air flow changing from in turbulence that much based on distance, and what's in front of it. Johnny and Brad may have some more numbers to share from experience though.
    • Which solenoid? Why was it changed? Again, why was this done? ...well, these wear..but ultimately, why was it changed? Did you reset the idle voltage level after fitment? I'm just a tad confused ~ the flash code doesn't allude to these items being faulty, so in my mind the only reason to change these things, would be some drive-ability issue....and if that's the case, what was the problem? Those questions aside, check if the dropping resistor is OK ...should be 11~14 ohms (TCU doesn't throw a flash code for this) ~ also, these TCU designs have full time power (to keep fault code RAM alive), and I think that'll throw a logic code (as opposed to the 10 hardware codes), if that power is missing (or the ram has gone bad in the TCU, which you can check..but that's another story here perhaps).
    • Question for people who "know stuff" I am looking at doing the new intake like the one in the picture (the pictured is designed for the OEM TB and intake plenum), this design has the filter behind the front bar, but, the filter sits where the OEM duct heads into the front bar, and the standard aperture when the OEM ducting is removed allows the filter to pulled back out of the front bar into the engine bay for servicing, a simple blanking plate is used to seal the aperture behind the filter This will require a 45° silicone hose from the TB, like the alloy pipe that is currently there, to another 45° silicone hose to get a straight run to the aperture in the front bar Question: how will it effect the tune if I move the MAF about 100-150mm forward, the red is around where my MAF is currently, and the green would be where it would end up Like this This is the hole the filter goes through  Ends up like this LOL..Cheers
    • Despite the level up question, actually I do know what that is....it is a pressure sender wire.  So check out around the oil filter for an oil pressure sender, or maybe fuel pressure near the filter or on the engine. Possibly but less likely coolant pressure sensor because they tend to be combined temp/pressure senders if you have one. Could also be brake pressure (in a brake line somewhere pre ABS) but maybe I'm the only one that has that on a skyline.
