also in for pg1.

so you want someone who has gotten a provisional licence for work ONLY (IE you!) to come pick you up (assuming its NOT you and you have a licence) so they can risk a 12 month TOTAL BAN on driving ..

bright one einstein - its meant for work only!

I think there was actually a ruling change kick in this year, as they worked out at long bloody last they need to get harder on drink drivers. So I dont think you (sorry your mate) can get anything now, its goneskis!

That said, you/he would have been told in court if you/he were given a work licence. So I think its safe to say no he/you dont.

in4pg1...your mate doesn't sound bright...tell him to ride out what small amounts left on his suspension and stop driving in case he hits one of our cars and isnt insured...coz that'll really suck....for us. Not to mention him and his total ban from driving and loss of money. Btw I dont think anyone in here is buying the whole "my friend" story!

good luck to you and "your friend"

Matt

hey the procedure of the ruling is this

your caught for drink driving,

police give you a suspension notice for 24hours (aslong as its not a high blood alocohol concentration level)

If it is a high level, you will be suspended up until court date.

you can apply to have you licence up until court, if your suffering from severe hardship, and qld transport will give you a replacement licence with the X4 condition,

When comes time to court, depending on if you need your licence for work, and suffering severe hardship work, they will either issue you with a work licence for a period of time and qld transport will reissue you with a provisional licence( which you hold for 12 months, then goes back to an open licence after that) and with the X1 condition.

X1 condition is you have to obide by the letter given to you by the courthouse regarding the work licence and when you can drive etc.

You can apply to have the X1 condition removed when the restricted licence is finished, and qld transport will take another happy snap free of charge.

If you cant apply for a work licence, then your just disqualified for a period of time, and just go back to qld transport to have your licence reissued once its finished. You will still go back to a provisional licence for 12 months. If you are already on a provisional licence when your caught for DUI, the time remaining for when you go to an open gets extended obviously from the time you were disqualified for.

    • I've got a 2011 J50 that I imported six years ago. The unmodified factory AV system date and time has always been correct ( Japanese timezone of course ) up until last month. About two weeks ago, at engine start, the system wished me a happy new year ( in Japanese of course ). I can't think of anything that would make the system think that the date had changed, unless the GPS component has failed/reset somehow ? I checked the GPS reception in the system settings, and it can still see the satellites. Has any other J50 owner had this happen ?  It's no biggie, just annoying that it tells me the wrong date anytime I start the engine. 😅
    • Love following your adventures on IG, hopefully if you're still around in Japan when we visit again wouldn't mind going for a few beers with you (that's if you're keen on hearing how I hate Nissans).
    • ok so if i wanted to go 18's i would go for 8's  in front 30+ or 32+ off set at front and the back 9 would be ok? what offset should i aim for.. then can i do some  hunting for wheel rim choices..    If i get this - will this fit all around: Size: 18 x 8.5 +37 - n what tyres size tyre should i get for front n back?
    • Absolute f*cking nightmare. I had to take breaks constantly, and I was always pissed off when I got home. The line split in Italy on day 2 (we drove from the Netherlands), lol. Driving any narrow European town was... well, sh*t.   Appreciate it man. Here, I'll just drop a favourite from the load I took on Saturday.   I'll update here when things happen with the car, the thing is, with stock power and almost everything chassis-wise taken care of, there really are no problems. 268,000kms now and counting.
    • Ah! I actually managed to snag a lightly used set.... that aren't so suitable for me right now. They don't work on a GTT without some cutting or creative heat moulding. I thought about reselling them myself cause I didn't want to murder them, but it looks like I'm probably going to attempt to murder them/melt them because I may as well. @GTSBoy @PranK can somebody close this thread?
