Well i've had my skyline all of 1 week now.. and i've already damaged it, and it's not yet insured

The only damage seems to be to the wheels, (i gunned it at a round about and forgot i had my boost control set to high) yeah, i know.. what an idiot

Anyway, i ended up going over a curb at about 60kmph. So ended up limping home at 10kmph with a flat front tyre.

The back wheel has been pushed out a bit, it's coming out at an angle now, all the other wheels seem ok but i'll need to get them checked out anyway, and have my front tyre replaced.

I've looked inside the engine bay, and had a look under the car.. everything seems fine except for the wheel problem.

So i'm just wondering if anyone could tell me where is a good place to go to get this checked out and fixed? and approximatly how much it's going to cost. I live north of the river..

any advice at all would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

lol.. anybody?

Ahwell.. i might just take it to ultra tune or something and get it fixed.

Just took the front wheel off that had the puncture, turns out the rim is absolutely effed.. has a huge crack through it  anyone know where i can find a circlar GTA rim, same colour as the ones in my banner..

it sumtimes is cheaper to get a new set of rims than to get one rim... also dun go to ultra tune or sumfing..take it/tow it (yes towing is expensive, but it saves u possible doing more damage to ur car) to wilkinson's or sumthing. they are an actual suspension shop, and they've worked on countless import, so they noe wat they are doing.

also, help us help u. post up detailed pics..from ur desciptions, we cant tell u much.

If you hit a curb at 60kmh I'd say theres more damage than just the rims.....suspension components are damaged quite easily...

Don't drive it and get it towed to a place like wilk's suspension 9370 2646.

My advice...take part in a few driver training courses and learn how to drive your car....that way these 'accidents' caused by your right foot are less likely to happen.

grrr

i must say it shits me when people who cant drive in the first place dont even know their own limits...

Me too, but we all know people who have crashed cars into curbs...roundabouts, traffic signs etc. Some are more public than others  Hell I've done it too...I'm sure you know someone Chad.

Yes

Yes, or try W.A. Suspensions, not a forum sponsor but they do excellent work...and own at least one Skyline

Yes, Make your mistakes there...infront of a dozen members...just like I did

Dont get ahead of yourself regarding the outcomes of an inspection, take your time to consider your options, this may be the time to go for some lower spring etc while the suspension work, if it needs any, gets done, take your time. One final thing and I know I will recieve some flame for it. Unless there is a mechanical imperative forget the multiple boost settings, just leave it on high and modulate boost with your right foot. the best thing is your not hurt.

Good luck

ouch i did that in my legend. I also thought it was just a bent rim (they where 19" at the time :S) but it turned out i twisted the whole chassis needed new front struts, sway arms and a few other things i also wasnt insured cost me nearly 3000$ to get it back on the road. i used Autocraft smash repairs but that is in booragoon they did a good job.

    • Ok thanks..that was my second question if i can somehow bypass this even with Nistune(that is all i have right now...aparat from stock ECU. So with some aftemarket it can by "bypassed" or make it work?  I know there is Link or Haltech (mainly used). We have ECUmaster here so i will gather some info about it.
    • Yes. You will need to get the original boost sensor and wire it in. That is.... if you plan to use a stock ECU - even a Nistuned ECU. The Nissan ECU will not operate correctly without it connected. And yes, it will do annoying stuff like you are experiencing. You will almost certainly be better off with some aftermarket ECU, than trying to hunt down rare sensors.
    • Ok so ABS/TCS is "not" the problem. Yeah i know now about the ABS with Nistune(i told that to the Nistune guy) but iam not 100% why or why i dont have ABS. ABS cube is in the engine (always has been) but i had braked couple of times rly hard and brakes just locked and scream. Does all Skylines have ABS cube? That boost sensor https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/367633-wtb-r34-gtt-turbo-pressure-sensor-pics-inside/ Is this it? I need to ask but i have a picture of engine bay and i do not see that (100% is not in that place) If i do not have this the car can do what mine is?(cutting around 4000 rpm) Here is the pic of my engine bay(only one i have) BUT i think i dont have that cuz loom was used from my RB20DE NEO and i know (obviously) that it does not have boost control or any wire to that...) so maybe that is the problem? (i dont know for 100% if that car where the engine is from had that)...but i dont have the loom from that
    • I'm with you here. It's either loom has an issue, OR, injectors are not functioning properly. It could even be they're just constantly dribbling, hence the wet, but not firing.
    • Depending on how long the car sat it is very possible for injectors to be stuck open or closed, I'd get them cleaned and flow tested. Other than that, obviously when the loom changes and the car doesn't start any more....the loom is suspect so some tracing / comparing may be required
