Hi guys,

As some of you might know me i had this thread back in 2004 http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...1&hl=MRPREZ

And now for the exciting part. As per my researches i have done this converion and i could claim to be the 1st R32 GTST in NSW thats have done this. and i want you guys to tell me what you think about it.

ok now to what i have done:

Engine: RB30 buttom end with RB26 Head, PAR rods, Arias pistons(High compression), balcnced standard crankshaft.

SARD 800cc injectors

Standard GTR fuel rail

Single Ford throtle body ( for easier tuning )

Same custom exhaust manifold

Same Tial 38mm gate

GT42R with 1.16 Exhaust housing :(

Standard Camshafts

Standard RB20 Radiator :)

Bosch 044 Fuel pump (Intank) :)

E-Boost 2 running max 16 PSI

--- Performance ---

16 PSI made 342 rwkw = 466 rwhw

At WSID:

I ran a 11.20 at 122mph with 60" of 1.58 with standard RB20 box at 12.8 PSI that got away with it that day but in october 2006 i snaped the output shaft

Now i have a Series II RB25 box which is hell alot stronger.

Im pretty happy with my old box that lasted me taht long and the gears are still good in it except the output shaft

If you guys are interested to share some info about the mods just PM me.

Until more news

Babak

Thanks Guys,

T04Z rated at 800 HP. (Depending on the housings)

As i said my housing is 1.16 which is preetty big specially for a GT42R.

Im sure at some stages you can do this conversion. i know its costy but its a good fun  Godd luck in the futur.

T04FTR ---- in terms of the response, its pretty responsive compare to my RB20 with GT3040R. with my GT3040R in my RB20DEt i was getting full boost at 4600rpm but ut was pretty slugish. BUT with my new setup boost kicks in at 5600RPM but i can feel it pulling before it hits full boost.

i took the car to WSID in november last year just to test it out how it goes with street tires, i tried it at 16 psi ( my max boost setting) and the car was going sideways all the way in 4th gear ( from 2nd gear i put my foot down) and i finished the 400m in nutural  that day i manged 13.0 @ 116 mph at 10psi.

Also as i mentioned befor my Exhaust housing size is 1.16 which is pretty big compare to ordinary T04Zs. Coz my turbo has been customly built for my application.

Its pretty pointless to darg withought my Mickies.

Cheers :)

    • Don't even try to run it on the stock ECU if you're going to have the boost controller bring boost above ~10 psi. I've already told you that. If you use the Nistune ECU, you will need to CAREFULLY read the available documentation for Neo tuning, and read some threads on the Nistune forums, to discover the various things you have to do to prevent the ECU from going bananas when the boost is too high. The is a table associated with th boost sensor that must be modified to prevent it from shitting the bed. This is just one of the things that you will need to do to the tune in Nistune, because the Neo turbo ECU will be expecting to see a number of things (such as the TCS) that are not there, and you have to block the DTCs on those. It is totally not surprising to me that you are having the problems that you are, but the solutions to these problems have been known for >15 years. So just get it done.
    • Hi. Sry iam not a mechanic and iam not at the car atm so i dont know 100% but they told they measure those and even try to change those. AFM they have two. Coils are new a they have my old one too. Plugs too. ECU...we have 25 NEO stock and Nistune 25 NEO.   But i dont know if any one those could be the problem and why/if/what can cause this, Only thing they did not check is fuel...but that walbro 255 is new(like 1,5 years)... That fuel pressure gauge idk...but i let them know Any suggestions?   EDIT: how can they know if it is like you say he ECU pull power when it reaches a specific boost level that is too high? Tha car has boost controler
    • Can you clarify what you mean by boost cut, do you mean it misfires both when under load (driving) and when stationary and out of gear? Or does the ECU pull power when it reaches a specific boost level that is too high (boost control issue)? Does it occur at idle with no throttle? When you say "the ECU is OK", what ECU is it and why do you think it is OK? Have you used the NEO ECU, and if so do you have a MAP sensor attached? Same for the AFM, why do you think it is OK? Do you have any way to put a fuel pressure gauge on it (even just a mechanical one between the fuel filter and fuel rail)?
    • Hi.. Just another problem. So maybe you can help. I(my mechanic) done swap from my RB20DE NEO to RB25DET NEO. Everything is OK but we have a boost cut. Coils/Plugs are ok...AFM is ok. ECU is ok. I have Walbro 255 but it "changed" sound few months ago(you can hear it ouside) you did not hear that when it was new(maybe faulty?) Sooo...what now? What can cause this boost cut? It is even when you standing still...
