Just want to tell everyone that I went to boostworx for a tune (safc) recently and I would highly recommend Shaun's work to anyone!!

I gained 10kw just in tuning/ignition timing because my last tuner was a little too conservative (was still a good tune, but just maybe he doesn't specialise in nissan/apexi tuning as much as others).

Shaun's ability with skylines/stageas is top notch - as many people on this forum will agree.

I'm very happy with my car's extra performance! Worth every penny! (prices are very low too) :D

EDIT: P.S. when I say the other tuner was conservative, for example my AFR's were sitting below 11:1 and ignition timing was either stock or a bit retarded ...Shaun managed to get the AFR's up to a flat line at 12:1 and advanced the timing whilst still keeping it safe.

Getting my car back 2day and getting my tune there soon after my FMIC.

Good stuff Paul. Try to book early otherwise you may end up waiting for 3weeks to get it in.

My plans have changed.. lol I'm going a GT35r .82 int gate turbine with an xr6 .5 comp cover.

Should do exactly what I want it to. :)

Yes Shuan is a top bloke, Mate and i were there yesterday working on his IP race car, whilst Shaun was working on his! I'm starting to think he needs to employ another off sider! he is always booked to the max, and not too mention they are the "Dyno Day Kings"

Ive decided on Boostworx for my tune on the RB25det stagea. Original 2 tunes were with Graham West Workshops but I feel they are on the expensive side, and was going to go to Turbo Tune but thought bugga it, lets do Boostworx seeing they have such a wide support network here on the forum.

Next Tuesday 27th Feb at 9am for a few hours is the golden day. Dropping the front AWD driveshaft and tuning in RWD mode.

Question to the experts : had the highflow turbo from Slide on now since November, worried about afr's etc with the summer heat (been on low boost, in fact hardly driven it in the heat). Should I go for a 1bar or a 1.1bar tune? Dont want to stress the motor over the next handful of years, as I wouldnt be able to afford a rebuild. Maybe in 5yrs time but not in the near future.......... opinions ?

She's got all the bits bolted on her, such as 040 fuel pump, dual stage EBC, Z32 afm, apexi SAFCii and SITC pigybacks, fmic, cai with pod filter, radiator air guide, etc etc etc, loads of goodies.

A: dont be to soft on it, or she will carbon up to much.

1.5 Bar should clean out the cobwebs and get the stag really humming..

or

b: 16 psi will be fine, just make sure on boost your AFR is around 11.5 and no higher.

and keep pinging below 15 and it will last forever...

if your really concerned about it lasting for years in the heat, then get it tuned on 95 ron fuel,

once tuned only run 98 ron fuel and you will never have an issue when it gets hot.

how much power are you looking for?

Darren

Shaun will see how it goes on the day, i.e slowly wind boost up until the limits of the std ecu and piggy backs are reached.

Do the Stagea's still have the dreaded R&R? This will be its limitation BUT with an adjustable fuel pressure regulator you may be able to push up fuel pressure and then lean it right out with the safc, you won't have to worry about it pinging its head off due to the lesser load points and more ignition it runs as you can pull ignition out with the ITC.

Looks good. ;)

    • Don't even try to run it on the stock ECU if you're going to have the boost controller bring boost above ~10 psi. I've already told you that. If you use the Nistune ECU, you will need to CAREFULLY read the available documentation for Neo tuning, and read some threads on the Nistune forums, to discover the various things you have to do to prevent the ECU from going bananas when the boost is too high. The is a table associated with th boost sensor that must be modified to prevent it from shitting the bed. This is just one of the things that you will need to do to the tune in Nistune, because the Neo turbo ECU will be expecting to see a number of things (such as the TCS) that are not there, and you have to block the DTCs on those. It is totally not surprising to me that you are having the problems that you are, but the solutions to these problems have been known for >15 years. So just get it done.
    • Hi. Sry iam not a mechanic and iam not at the car atm so i dont know 100% but they told they measure those and even try to change those. AFM they have two. Coils are new a they have my old one too. Plugs too. ECU...we have 25 NEO stock and Nistune 25 NEO.   But i dont know if any one those could be the problem and why/if/what can cause this, Only thing they did not check is fuel...but that walbro 255 is new(like 1,5 years)... That fuel pressure gauge idk...but i let them know Any suggestions?   EDIT: how can they know if it is like you say he ECU pull power when it reaches a specific boost level that is too high? Tha car has boost controler
    • Can you clarify what you mean by boost cut, do you mean it misfires both when under load (driving) and when stationary and out of gear? Or does the ECU pull power when it reaches a specific boost level that is too high (boost control issue)? Does it occur at idle with no throttle? When you say "the ECU is OK", what ECU is it and why do you think it is OK? Have you used the NEO ECU, and if so do you have a MAP sensor attached? Same for the AFM, why do you think it is OK? Do you have any way to put a fuel pressure gauge on it (even just a mechanical one between the fuel filter and fuel rail)?
