official press release:

Nissan's Sizzling 200SX is Now a GT

Nissan has announced the release of a GT Special Edition package for its sensational rear-wheel drive sports coupe, the 200SX.

The GT package is available on both variants of the 200SX – the S and the R – and adds an array of sports oriented features to the popular coupe, including leather and chrome interior details and a swooping rear wing.

Since its Australian launch in November, 2000, the Nissan 200SX sport coupe has blown its competitors out of the water in the performance and styling stakes – and the GT Special Edition variants offer the sports oriented driver an even more attractive proposition.

Confirming its position as one of the great sports cars, the 200SX collected one of the highest accolades in motoring when it became the first vehicle under $100,000 to win MOTOR magazine’s ‘Performance Car of the Year’ award last year.

A key element to this sensational performance car lies in the combination of a stunning 2.0-litre DOHC turbocharged engine mated to either a six-speed manual gearbox or optional four-speed electronic automatic transmission.

Add to this a comprehensive list of standard equipment – air-conditioning, dual airbags, ABS braking system and remote central locking - and it’s easy to understand why the 200SX has received glowing praise from the media and general public.

The GT Special Edition 200SX adds even more features to both the Spec S and Spec R variants, including:

- Sporty front leather seat trim

- Leather steering wheel

- High performance rear spoiler

- Polished chrome alloy wheels

- Drilled racing pedals

- Chrome manual transmission finisher and chrome interior door handles

- GT grade badges

Recommended retail pricing for the GT Spec S manual is $42,990 and $46,490 for the Spec R manual. Both GT specifications will be available from May 1.

    • I can see between the water jacket and cyl 3 there wasn't a hard line of combustion gas. It certainly appears that the issue is coming from there. Yes, checked the tension. All at 100ft lbs where I set them 5 years ago. These blocks can crack but generally when they have been over bored. Mine is only 0.5mm oversize at 89.5mm. They break between cylinders around the 91mm mark. No sign of that with mine. My gut feeling is the head gasket lifted a while back when the studs stretched and i bandaided it by retorquing the studs. It's finally let go.

    • Yes, but, I paid cash and I'm pretty sure the receipt was in the bin 10 minutes after I got home Note to self, keep all receipts

    • So, version 4 intake is on its way I was looking at these a while ago but at around $200 or more it was a little pricey for something that might not work, but, I had it in my watch list, but, I got a message saying it was on special, and I had a code thingie to use, it eventually came in at $120 delivered, so BAM, BUY NOW.....LOL I'll need to have a look when it arrives but I feel it will "look" better than what I currently have, as it comes with a PCV fitting, so I will be able to get rid of the alloy pipe that goes to the throttle body with the PCV fitting  Well, that's what the voices in my head are telling me  Oh, and this happened today Yeap, it was a Trojan, and it was cheap, so I headed back to the hardware store and actually spent a little bit more on a heavy duty,  one that was actually recommended by a plumber mate, a Cyclone one with a fibreglass handle that is actually rated for clay The broken shovel will eventually be "modified" into a short handle shovel
