Hippy - I have enough traction issues already man without losing a couple more hundred kilos on the rear end :( .... but I will hopefully be fixing that soon with a Whiteline handling kit :P

Matt - Stickers for an event are cool (I might even be in on it too) .... I'm just not a big fan of the whole 'look at me, look at me' all the time, plus it would draw unwanted police attention, I'm sure.

So what was the verdict, should I (or is anyone else) gonna look into the Autosalon display thing?

I thought last year was a bit lacking for performance cars, mainly big wings, over the top subes etc. Was plenty of nice chicks though.

thats an interesting question Hippy. Every month I get unique cars & dream on about the following :-

996 Porshe Turbo. ( for the hills)

550 Maranello. (for touring)

Maserati Spyder. (for rundle street)

Ferrari 355. (for going to the video shop)

Yamaha Raptor. (for the paddock)

Malibu Sunsetter. (for the river)

A bigger garage - to fit them all in, 'cause my GTRs

are going nowhere.

The cars I have now ARE my dream come true, & I

dont take them for granted. What I would love to see is

R33 Race GTR - 8 seconds @ 160 mph

R33 Street GTR - 10 seconds/320kmhr Vmax

R34 Hills GTR - 11 seconds.

AND - world peace.

Yeah, Lambos are amazing, but a bit over the top for me.I would still like to drive one if I got the chance though.

A 550 Maranello is the top of the line V12 Ferrari. It's a front engine/rear wheel drive machine that does over 300kmhr & they cost over $500,000. A Raptor is a 4 wheel motorbike made by Yamaha. They are 660cc 4 strokes & are totally sick for off road.I have ridden a Banshee which is a 350cc 2 stroke but nearly killed myself & would prefer the bigger (but more controllable) Raptor.

A Malabu Sunsetter is a big ski-boat.Takes 10 passengers, has injected 350 chev, stereo, & everything that opens & shuts. They are the official tournament tow boats in USA (they use the smaller Response model) - but the Sunsetter would be just the ticket for cruising past Sturt Reserve in style.

The engine is out for a complete rebuild(on the new R33 - Drift6)

so will be a while till ready - will be a real torque monster with the new single Turbo setup. There was a problem with the balancer, & when removed it damaged the crank - so I am starting from scratch with a new block/crank/pistons/rings/bearings etc etc. Should make boost by 3000rpm & still have around 450rwkw, so will be a good street car

It is interesting how quickly things have changed in GTR circles in Adelaide. I remember when no-one had 400rwkw & we all thought it was huge when Danny/Doug/Keir started pumping out over 400rwkw - 10.8 was the fastest GTR in town only 2 years ago! then Keir hit the 9s. Then 9.51. My car was supposed to run a 9.9, & now is doing 9.45!!! Now Keir has a 9.38 under his belt.

Keir has T67s now & I heard that he made 600rwkw recently !!!!!

Thats 800hp at the wheels! Unbelievable - but true! When is this madness going to stop. Not for a while I reckon. My new setup (when it's ready) should hopefully get close to those numbers, & I think both myself & Keir have flat nines firmly in our sights. If we can run 9.0s we will both be in the top 10 on street tyres in the world.Reece is already in the world top 10 for Pro GTRs on slicks.

I think that us 'roundeyes' have come a long way over the last couple of years.

Cool. I saw a run of Keir's recently from the finish line & it looked like I was in Japan or something - awesome to see coming towards you.

anyway - back to the auto Salon Subject - As far as I am concerned putting cars into shows is a major pain in the ass, but I would be willing to put in Drift6 (R33) & 34VSPEC if we had a properly organised stand to promote the forum - there are lots of nice skylines that have never even heard of this forum & therefore

never come on cruises etc. We would have to sort out exactly which cars to put in & organise a roster to tell people about this 'unoffical club' or just put www.skylinesaustralia.com stickers on each car. I think that single cars are lots cheaper than having a group stand, but maybe someone could talk to the organisers & explain that this is a non-profit venture & can we put a group of single entry cars together on one stand. My race car will not be ready in time - but I have 2 other nice GTRs that would look good on the stand.I am not interested in trying to organise this myself, but if someone else wants to take the baton & run with it, then I will help by supplying 2 killer GTRs(& maybe the EVO7)

Do cops kno who all the cams affiliated clubs actually are? Can they check this shit up inside their cars? Whats the go ther?

Surely it can't do too much damage. We aren't advertising a club, but an internet address for a group of mates/chicks with the same interests. Hardly a club...

Remember a little while ago where this bloke had a sticker of a www site? Basically he had a huge list of mods on his www site and the police busted him.

Not that we shouldn't get stickers. I'm not one for stickers my self but some thing to keep in mind.

Just be carefull listing your mods through sigs etc I guess.

    • Look for broken wire or bad connector at the motor. Might not be it, but is worth starting there, as it is easy.
    • Hi everyone, I’m having an issue with my R32 GT-R. Sometimes, when the car goes over a bump or experiences some vibration, the 4WD warning light comes on the dashboard. When I check the code from the control unit in the trunk, it shows Code 19 – ETS Motor. However, everything seems to be working fine — if I turn off the engine and restart the car, the light goes away and everything functions normally. Has anyone experienced this before? Where should I start troubleshooting this issue? Thanks in advance!
    • I'm back from the dyno - again! I went looking for someone who knew LS's and had a roller dyno, to see how it shaped up compared to everything else and confirm the powerband really is peaking where Mr Mamo says it should. TLDR: The dyno result I got this time definitely had the shape of how it feels on the road and finally 'makes sense'. Also we had a bit more time to play with timing on the dyno, it turns out the common practice in LS is to lower the timing around peak torque and restore it to max after. So given a car was on the dyno and mostly dialled in already, it was time for tweaking. Luis at APS is definitely knowledgable when it came to this and had overlays ready to go and was happy to share. If you map out your cylinder airmass you start seeing graphs that look a LOT like the engine's torque curve. The good thing also is if you map out your timing curve when you're avoiding knock... this curve very much looks like the inverse of the airmass curve. The result? Well it's another 10.7kw/14hp kw from where I drove it in at. Pretty much everywhere, too. As to how much this car actually makes in Hub Dyno numbers, American Dyno numbers, or Mainline dyno numbers, I say I don't know and it's gone up ~25kw since I started tinkering lol. It IS interesting how the shorter ratio gears I have aren't scaled right on this dyno - 6840RPM is 199KMH, not 175KMH. I have also seen other printouts here with cars with less mods at much higher "kmh" for their RPM due Commodores having 3.45's or longer (!) rear diff ratios maxing out 4th gear which is the 1:1 gear on the T56. Does this matter? No, not really. The real answer is go to the strip and see what it traps, but: I guess I should have gone last Sunday...
    • 310mm rotors will be avilable from Australia, Japan, and probably a few other places. Nothing for the front can be put on the back.
    • The filter only filters down to a specific size. Add to that, the filter is AFTER the pump. So it means everything starts breaking your pump even if its being filtered out.
