1994 Nissan Skyline R33 GTS Non Turbo

5 speed

White

40,000 kms

17" mag wheels

Aftermarket bodykit

Lowered

$13,400

Interior condition is very tidy and is much better than the kms would suggest. Scratches to the front bumper and RHS have been professionally painted by the supplier. Runs well and is mechanically sound. Recently detailed.

where abouts did you see this?

im paying $16500 for the same sought of car.mine is the rarer GTS4 but with nothing modified and 84000km's.its very clean and been serviced every 5000km's.

it will cost all up $20000 for a few changes including the wheels etc.so i believe that is a VERY good buy.

Id be spending the extra $1000 and buying one of the R32 GTR's that Prestige has had on offer.

i dont think these 2 cars are even in the same league. does the term 'running costs' mean anything to you. if youre gunah suggest an alternative, try and make it a realistic one as that may actually help him...

on the original topic yeh i think it is a decent price, and if thats the car you want then go for it

people who havent imported themselves shouldnt praise the system so much. yeh the price tag is lower, what that doesnt include is the fact you know nothing about the car before it lands, you will have headaches for 2-3 months waiting for it to land, then u have to compliance and license it.

im sick of people praising the system as though its fool-proof. and i feel especially sorry for those who take this ignorant advice on the premise they are entering into the greatest deal of the century. a good exmaple is these 15 year old GTRs, come on people these arent 15 year old camrys theyre not going to be in the best condition when they arrive (esp the modified ones.)

Id be listening pretty closely to adam 32.

I absolutely agree that the R32 GTR is far from a suitable alternative to a 13k R33. Sure Geoff has '89 R32 GTR's for a bit of extra cash, but like adam 32 said, running costs and what about insurance, for a 20 year old!

By the time you buy the GTR, insure it, repair/maintain it you are going to be WELL over the 20k you guys are talking about, not to mention how much it will cost afterwards just driving the thing. I think the non-turbo is a sensible option, provided you are happy with the power levels, you'll sure as hell be spending a lot less on maintaining it.

Have fun with your purchase(s).

If i had a dollar for everytime sumone said get a R32 GTR id be rich! but yeah Adam is right.... the insurance alone would kill me!

As for the above car id say thats pretty good mine is a 1996 R33 series2 non turbo 40000ks i paid $16700 and i imported it

that one has a bodykit and mags aswell which is also pretty good

if you looked around, you could find a decent gtst already in the country for that price. importing a car now is almost not worth it, at least till the new laws settle down a bit.

i brought in a modded car recently under the old laws and found that the near stock cars were going for more than modded ones. just not worth it. you can only really save money if you go for the modded ones, and nows thats out of the equation.

    • The German place in Cabramatta was rock solid, fresh pretzel cooked to order back then. Then it went all quiet, after all the poker machines were removed, then I believe it closed for good. I did drive past the other week and noticed outdoor lighting a big screen, but no idea what is there now.
    • Yeah I suspect even if you hold airmass per cycle/cylinder constant if you get too far away from stock you're still going to have problems running the factory tune within the bounds of the factory load scale. Cams, different displacement/rod ratio, etc. I'm just lucky that the GTIII-SS with wastegate boost + CA compliance cats is pretty much equivalent to stock turbos. When I have actual space I can finally get it tuned and modify the fuel system for flex fuel to 100% handle any detonation concerns when cranking the boost to whatever those dinky turbos can put out.
    • I would say no, why, because my daughter, who also lives in Goulburn, hasn't recommended us going there Pity, as we miss all the German joints around in Sydney, actually, the restaurants are the only thing I really miss about Sydney, and a special mention to Ishibanboshi at Bondi Junction, their Kara-age Don is heart cloggingly deliciousness (always added a special boiled egg...or 2) 😋
    • Does that German restaurant still exist in the old place out the NW end of Goulburn? When I say "out the NW end of"...I am really being vague. It was 1997 when I was last there, and the only point of reference I can recall is that it was on the opposite side of the main drag from the big merino. And when I say "opposite side of the main drag", I don't mean "on the main drag". It was either a couple of streets back from there, or might have even been out in the sticks a bit further. Was an old farm building or mill or somesuch. And when I say "the big merino" I might actually be thinking of a completely different part of town, because I just looked on maps and the big bugger is not where I remembered him to be! The food was good, consisting largely of various German mystery-meat sausage/loaf things and kartofflen.
    • So while the second sentence is completely correct and the whole point of the conversation, the first sentence bears consideration. If this bloke is just hoping to throw big turbos on and drive it around, because there are no helpful facilities at all in his tropical paradise** then he likely has zero chance of even knowing what the TP is on the last column in the stock maps, let alone know whether the ECU is operating anywhere near it or past it. So the point is very very moot. And, per what I said before, at stock boost on those turbos, you may well be off the end of the map. **I'm just back from Vanuatu, so I know exactly what small Pacific nations can be like wrt paradise without requisite facilities. But it's not even that simple. I put a high flow on my car and had to drive it around without a proper tune because of the lack of opportunity*** to put the bigger AFM and injectors into it to allow it to be tuned. I had to turn the boost down to less than I had before, and back off the boost controller's ramp, because it was exploring parts of the map that it didn't drive in before, and really couldn't access for tuning on the dyno either, and so was pinging. It was still well within the last column, because when I first**** set up the Nistune on the Neo I rescaled all axes of the maps to give some more space to explore. ***Family dyno was broken ****This was 13 years ago, and the TIM thing wasn't a thing then and so TP would definitely grow when pushing past the stock tune's limits.
