Dr30 Rear Demist

Guys, I have been gradually doing bits and pieces to the DR and now have evertthing working electrically except the rear demist. I change the fuses and so as I click on the rear demist the fuses blow.

Any ideas. Do you think it is a short in the wiring (i.e it is damaged somewhere in the loom and shorting out) or maybe the relay is stuffed? Any help would be appreciated.

check the relay, they're only a few bucks

i would get a new relay and new wiring and test it all before hooking it all up for real.

i had to use new wires & relay in my old VL commo... had no problems after that

I was blowing the fuses like nothing for a while there with mine as well, pull the switch outta the dash and check the wiring behind it! Mine had all melted and was shorting out, everytime the switch moved it blew the fuse...bloody thing!

Yeah i seen that happen too, lucky i got a few spare switches!

I will pull it out and have a look on the weekend. I suspect the switch is the problem.

look in most early nissan's the terano's use the same switch

N12 Pulsar, B11 Pulsar all had same switch or you could just ask someone that has a SKYLINE badge waiting to be picked up for a switch.

Nice one Dennis...yes I am still alive and havent forgotten about the badge. In fact I brought the Pioneer speakers with me to the show and shine on Sunday when I entered the DR30.Here some photos (scroll down the page) and you will see it

Will drop in from time to time, but other than classics and members you wont find me ever again. FAR to many would be if they could be's in open forums, d#ckheads that think they own the world. Be interesting next time V8 Owners and SAU go to the drags coz the only Skyline doing 11's might have a V8 Owners sticker on the window. LOL
