68ohm would pose quite a problem wouldnt it?

was it hard to wire in the resistors? coz ive got a gtr resistor pack and injectors waiting to go in

It really is easy. There's a single + feed that splits off in to 6 that run to each injector.

You simply use the resistor pack as the 'splitter'. So the single + in to the resistor pack and then connect the 6 wires that were connected to that single + in to the resistor pack.

Obviously make sure u connect the single + feed to the correct wire on in the resistor pack.

Nothing hard about it, make sure you have a multimeter handy to double check its all good.

I used a flux pen, solder with flux core and a soldering iron. :wave: The flux pen makes life easy and returns tidy solder joins.

wiring up resistors was easy....

i was thinking that they might be too high, ill check them with a multimeter, and if so ill chop 5 out and wire one in....

i was thinking that but i spose dont believe what your told all the time... that could definately be the reason why they arent firing...

any problems with running the injectors and no resistors? ive heard they just run really really rich

Ok so can i get 2nd confirmation weather the resistors are actually 68ohm or 6.8ohm

if they are 68 ohm ill chop out 5 and put one to the central feed of the power therefore each injector will have roughly 11.3ohm resistance? any problems there or should i get another set of resistors?

Ok this might be stupid, but this did happen to me on my rb25 installed new nismos and couldnt work out wtf was going on no pulse, took like 30 minutes and my constant reference to the FUSE for injectors and yes there is such a thing, and what do you know its blown, put new one in and bang she fired straight away, it could be something as simple as that try that out mate

Good luck

It doesn't work like that :wave:

It will still be 68ohms.

sweet

lucky they only cost me $25, ill get new ones...

jaycar??

thanks guys you have all solved my problem!!!!!!!

dammit i forgot series wiring and parallel.... smart me is

which one is the injectors fuse? my fusebox lid inside is in japanese :ermm:

I guess it could be a simple mistake

Proper resistors

looks like i need these huh

RESISTOR, 10W 5% 6R8

* RoHS Compliant:YES

* Resistor element type:Wirewound Aluminium Clad

* Resistance:6.8R

* Power rating:10W

* Tolerance, +:5%

* Tolerance, -:5%

* Temperature, operating max:275°C

* Temperature, operating min:-55°C

* Temperature coefficient, +:50ppm/°C

* Temperature coefficient, -:50ppm/°C

* Temperature, full power rating:20°C

* Case style:Axial

* Voltage rating, AC:160V

* Centres, fixing LxW:12.5x11.3

* Depth, external:9mm

* Length / Height, external:17mm

* Resistance, insulation:10000mR

* Temperature rise:22.2°C

* Width, external:8.9mm

or should i go closer to 10 ohm resistance as per gtr resistor pack?

Geez mate I am so sorry.

if the resistors you got were the ones i told you to :ermm: I read the part number off the packet i thought mine came from and obviously didn't check it correctly.

the ones i am using are 6.8 ohm 10 watt and look exactly the same just a different resistance.

Don't use the injectors without resistors as you will be drawing too much current from the ECU and will blow the injector drivers. and you can't use 1 resistor for all 6 injectors because it will still be 68omh.

DAMN THAT DECIMAL POINT DAMN IT TO HELL!!!!

I owe you a few beers...

No dramas mate, you have helped me so much already one small mistake isnt much in my eyes

Pulled the turbo off in 1hr 20min thismorning

oil line made up today

get resistors from jaycar tomorrow and hopefully running tomorrow night

THANK YOU EVERYONE THAT HAS POSTED IN THIS THREAD YOU HAVE ALL HELPED SOLVE MY SIMPLE YET HARD PROBLEM

Much appreciated all!

    • Harness is for a s1 Rb25det, and it is engine and lower harness.  the old harness had broken off plugs and was in very rough condition/exposed wires and splices etc. it is not able to be put back on the car, I could visually inspect to see if they had rewired any pins on the ecu plug. The fuel pump definitly isn’t turning off it’s an external pump and very loud you can hear it. Will look at the other harness tonight, am also going to pull the fuel rail and watch the injectors spray, will update here with what I find. Pretty sure at this point it has to be something to do with injectors because car will fire up on starting fluid and cas is clicking the Injectors. Fuel pressure is steady 43psi
    • Check the injectors flow evenly, and are actually flowing what you and the ECU think they should be flowing. If it's starting up on starter fluid, you have a fuel issue. Is it possible under cranking your fuel pump is turning off?   The harness you replaced, is that the whole engine harness? Do yourself a test, and drop the old harness on and plug it into the Z32 ECU. It's possible they've wired things different. From memory S1 to S2 is different in RB25 and you may have a wrong loom
    • I haven’t pulled the injectors to watch them spray yet but they are clicking from the cas and all of the spark plugs are wet with fuel. I’ve thought the cylinders were being flooded from the beginning and was hoping fuel pressure would fix it. Tonight I am going to pull the rail and watch the injectors spray. Don’t know how to test/diagnose if the plugs are firing in correct sequence but that should be a timing thing and as far as timing goes my car still has the half moon for the cas can only install it 1 way. And my mechanical timing is 100% correct I posted photos above. Confirmed with the balancer on and off.
    • I checked spark on all cylinders and they all visually have spark with the plug pulled and grounded, but plug 1 is the only one that fouled. This was a running swap that blew up and was rebuilt by a machine shop, put a new wiring specialties harness and did all gaskets, studs, and bolts while it was out.  compression is 135-150 across all cylinders. Aside from that from my understanding with the z32 ecu and maf the car should start regardless. The wiring for TPS and the dual 02 sensor/ dual knock sensor stuff shouldn’t actually stop the car from starting or even running well, (just slightly rich)  they just give fault codes. Car supposedly is supposed to start as long as you have z32 afm and ecu with the nistune base map and that’s info coming from a well known and trusted tuner who does a lot with SR/RB (Rsenthalpy). After more trouble shooting today where I’m at right now is that the cas is sending signal to the injectors they click while spinning the rotor, Fuel pressure is now set at 43psi, all cylinders have good compression and all of the plugs looked great (just wet with fuel) except for cylinder 1 which was very black (cylinder 1 has 150psi compression). all of the coils generate spark if pulled out and grounded out on the head. On the fuel pump car just pops into the exhaust. On starting fluid car will fire off. Hard to tell if all cylinders are firing off but definitley a couple. sounds like all of them but it’s only for 3-5 seconds hard to tell.
