Well now I have done the Ultimate Trim 'leather' interior, I thought it was time to make a custom gauge panel for the spare DIN spot in the R34, put in some of 666dans blue leds into the dash cluster, and cut out the ash tray and integrate the SAFCII into the dash.

I plan to go a little bit more crazy with the carbon fibre, and may well re-do the bits I have done as some of it is a bit rough and better techniques would give a better result.

I thought I'd share these photos for your enjoyment.

I will get some better photos in daylight today also.

Thanks guys. Like I said I am going to make some small improvements but am quite happy with it overall. The device on the top right is an M350, which is a digital speedo with 0-400m, power reading, lap times etc, but I haven't figured out the Japanese instructions to get it all working yet.

I haven't actually got the Hybrid solenoid hooked up yet - it is wired through to the engine bay, but I haven't had time to plug it all in. I used the older model of this one and it was very good - so I expect this one to be as good if not better.

The dash lights take under an hour to install. The hardest part is getting the cluster out - it is a p.i.t.a if you don't remove the steering wheel (like I didn't).

Andrew what does the p.i.t.a stand for?

And Paul. i think the HP gains with just the interior the way it is now is massive. like adds 98rwkw with just these mods itself. LOL Jokes.

It looks really good Andrew. Figuring out what to do to my interior to make it look more pretty.

hahahahahaha beat me to it :(

Thanks Brenton :ninja:

and Pauly, the Hybrid won't actually add any power, it will just make boost come on earlier, stronger and more controlled. I have also bought an HKS actuator which I will fit with my new turbo that will aid this also.

yeah Joel it is is just the $40 per roll carbon fibre contact style stuff from Autobarn. I actually wrapped it around the edges and stuck in under the trim, but will re-do it with the edged trimmed to the edge of the trim rather than folding under - I am sure it will look better that way, and be less prone to bubbles and ripples like it has now.

come up good Andrew, cutting it should stop it from bubbling. Have to find my self saw real carbon fibre i had a roll a while back but it ended up "dissolving" and you end up with black carbon hand prints every where after handling the stuff

yes, real carbon fibre would be nice! There is a mob in the Eastern states somewhere that can paint items to look and feel like carbon fibre, but from memory they were up to $100 per trim piece. Since I am going to do the whole vertical centre console, plus the power window surround thingo, it is too much $$$. I will try different techniques with the carbon contact and see how it goes.

    • The wideband reading is meaningless if it's not running. Why are you using shitty old sidefeeds on any engine, let alone a Neo? What manifold and fuel rail are you using to achieve that? Beyond that, can't help you with AEM stuff as I've never been their ECU/CAS combo.
    • Manual boost controllers (where a little of the boost was bled off) were quite common back in the day, because they were cheap and easy. Generally they had a manual adjustment screw rather than being fixed like yours. Down side is they always bleed boost, not just when you want them to so an electronic boost controller that uses a solenoid will have less lag.
    • Hello , im new here and i have A31 home build  RB25det neo stock eng / turbo  aem ems 2 blue connector  aem 3.5 map aem cas disk aem wideband connected to ecu  355 lph pump 550 nismo yellow injectors side feed aftermarket regulator  and won’t start with base aem tuner basic tune eventually flipped cas 180 degree so it triggers on correct stroke not in exhaust cycle  Now it won’t start Wideband reads 10 and 11 at lowest fuel setting  and will share calibrations soon for aem tuner i think something is wrong in aem tuner    please if you have any information, am very grateful
    • Legend. I ended up finding the facebook account of the owner of the first car i sent but sadly he deactivated the account. I think you’re right in saying it’s some sort of well done custom job. Really appreciate your help anyways.
    • Totally equivalent. Stock often goes from the comp cover because that's where the actuator is also installed and the factory needs 2" of hose to make the connection - and it comes as a pre-assembled unit. They totally have a boost reference from somewhere between the turbo and the throttle(s). Oh, jeez. Just do it in M12 then. We don't actually care that much. I would expect any such AN converter fitting to rely on an o-ring or some other seal onto a flat surface under the flange of the hex**, because bolt threads are no intended to provide a pressure seal. unlike..... pipe threads. **which also requires a suitably flat and smooth surface on the turbo's boss to provide the seal.
