Hi Guys,

I'm clearing out stuff as I have more parts than I have money so need to sell some of my race tyres. I have 2 full sets (8 tyres total).

First set:

Yokohama Advan A048R 235/45/17 X 4

These have minimal life left. probably good enough for a few drag days, or a few super sprints just depends on how many laps you are doing. I would say around 15%-20% tread remaining, and it's pretty even wear, no flat spots, or damage, and they are not old tyres so still good rubber. Considering the new cost is ~$1900 15% would be $270 and 20% would be $360. So bearing all that in mind I'm after $220 for all 4.

Second set:

Dunlop Direzza D02G 235/45/17 X 2 and Yokohama Advan A048R 235/45/17 X 2

These have much more life left in them than the first set. The two advans are in very good shape, I'd say 50% tread left. The dunlops are in not quite as good shape, but probably 40% tread left. I'd be using the advans on the front, and the dunlops on the back as GTRs are hard on front tyres. replacement cost on these babies is about the $1800 mark. So given the condition I'm asking $330 for the set of 4. You would get probably half a dozen track days out of these.

I don't have any pics, but can probably get some up tomorrow, but given how expensive these tyres are, and how sought after if you want them, I would just pm me and make a time to come check them out. I'm not really interested in posting interstate but could possibly be presuaded but you would need to organise a courier to collect them from my door.

I'm in sydney in 2 weeks and if I have some room in the car I'll grab em. What suburb are you in and can I have a contact number.

Thanks mate.

Russell

they are in the northshore, chatswood area.

contact number pm'd to russman.

michael, freight to perth I have to be honest I have nfi (i would guess around $120 for a set of 4), but I have to give preference to anyone that can come and collect them from my door. for 2 reasons. 1. it's far easier for me. and 2. i much prefer when people are buying used consumables (tyres, brakes etc) that they get the chance to look at them in person before buying them. I don't think i've oversold them at all with my description, but I would hate for someone interstate to get them and say: "hey, these have 1.8mm tread, not 2mm" etc.

npz.. let me see if i got funds LOL! then i might pm you and go from there if you havn't sold them already :)

cheers michael

not really keen to split a set of 4, unless one of you will take the D02Gs and one take the A048s, feel free to discuss that amongst yourselves via pm. :)

the first set (4XA048) will most likely be sold tonight.

Set 2 (the dunlop/yokohama set) is gone. Set 1 is still available with a few guys circling around. first in with the dough wins.

still got the first set. need the space badly now. price is $200 flat. will be available for pick-up this weekend. even if you only got one track day out of them it's still a shed load better value than buying new ones. :P

I just got the set left out of the garage for a look see. they are better than I remember. very usable. and no damage, or flat spots, or dodgey wear on them anywhere at all. so price is still $200 flat, or I will just get them put on some rims and use them myself. so that's Advan A048R 235/45/17 X 4 for a measly $200.

I'll take some pics in a min.

May be interested depending on whether a mate is going over to sydney and could pick them up for me this week. I'll let you know.

i would't mind driving it on the street, but I probably wouldn't drive it in the wet unless there was no other way to travel. as with not much tread depth they are not the greatest in the wet. i don't know what the dates are.

    • Yeah I've had too many issues with knock off's on the BMW's. I don't want to do a job twice or more because the parts are shit.
    • I read this and thought "ah! I will do this scissor jack on the tow point thing!" I just use my floor/low profile/costco jack and lift the car up by the tow hook itself, then slide jack stands under. Never thought about using scissor into floor jack combo :p
    • Well, my new WMI system took much longer to finalize. I actually missed my dyno appointment last Friday and lost my 150$ deposit. I'll be going back in the next week or two.  To sum it up. I only kept the AEM tank from my old setup. I replaced the AEM pump with a higher flow/pressure ProMeth 30GPH pump. I also swapped over to a 6AN low pressure feed line to the pump from the tank. There's also a pressure switch you cannot see on the pump high pressure line.    This is feeding 6x 200CC direct port nozzles and 1x 500CC Pre Throttle body nozzle. All fittings are Swagelok, because well why not. I also have a 300PSI pressure sensor up front.    I now have my Haltech ECU controlling everything. I start my pump with a basic relay at 5PSI and deadhead it. I then PWM a 3000CC methanol Injector to control flow starting around 10psi. The pressure switch in the trunk, along with my tank level are safeties before I ever get to 10PSI, and then I use my pressure sensor upfront as a secondary safety to cut the WMI and corrections in case the injector blocks or a line ruptures.  Wish me luck on the dyno!
    • So, I'm back with bad news. There's no jack long enough on this planet that will reach the front subframe. If by some chance there is, it would weigh 200lb's.  I purchased a long reach jack... The damn thing weighted 120lb's and was massive. Didn't even come close, was still short at least a foot. It was a pain, but I brought it back. Next I decided HA! No problem, I'll get an Extra long reach jack. Well, I couldn't lift the box... It must have weighed 160LB's and luckily there was an open box in store. I took measurement and was still nowhere close.  Sadly I've lost hope and have accepted defeat.
    • Thanks for that tip, niZmO_Man. I think the battery is OK. It's quite a new one, but I'll check. Last time I needed a new battery, everything electronic was fine, except that there wasn't enough current to turn over the starter. I decided to order one of the partial AV system translation CDs from Car Audio Workshop in NZ. That might have some effect, or help me diagnose the date problem. 🤞
