T'he housings are the same, but the catridge is not.

I've installed many turbos, but havne't installed the actual slide turbo because I haven't received it yet.

do the lines have enough flex to move them into place?

Are all lines out of place by the same amount - i.e. what about if you rotate the housings?

I can't answer that question in regards to the slide turbo, because I don't have one yet. So is the turbo not a striaght bolt in like it's claimed?

Although, I we did recently rotated the housings on a turbo when installign a top mount manifold. We just loosened the bolts, turned it, tightened it.

this turbo is pissing me off something stupid. if this turbo is for the rb25det hiflow is straight bolt on shouldnt it be that i dont have to rotate it to line up?

now is this going to void my warranty if i rotate it?

As manwhore has stated: Loosen bolts slightly, just enough to remove tension, at rear of housing. Rotate to desired angle then fasten bolts again. Same can be done for the comp/front housing.

Are you sure you are up to this? :(

If you couldn't work that out, how the hell are you going to install the turbo?

Are you modifying the oil line? From what i read there is some sort of mod required.

Do you know how to prime the turbo with oil b4 starting? Otherwise you'll burn the cartridge out and scorch the bearings. ;)

If unsure, and you think it's just; unbolt, slap in, and bolt-up then i HIGHLY advise you to take it to a mechanic.

If i was in Aaron's position, reading this post, i would have voided the warrenty already

Take it to a good mechanic; it's going to save you money in the near future!

yes i know what to do now. i have to crank the car first a couple times then start it for 10 mins. the oil lines were modified like aaron said. my dad and i are workin on it. just wasnt sure if i could rotate it.

heres my number. i wont be on the net now. gotta try n work this out

warranty? it should of aligned without me doing anything

as stated above just losen the rear housing bolts slightly and rotate, make sure you give the car a good few cranks before starting it, i personally wouldn't run huge boost until the turbo has done atleast 500k's either let everything settle in, good luck with the install it is a fun job

ive installed a max over size rb25 turbo from aaron and i found the only line i had trouble with was the water line that connects closest to the strut tower..all i did was chop the metal pipe throw some water hose between it and it gave me plenty of give then..rest of lines should all line up perfect..remember dont bolt the turbo up to the exhaust manifold tight...make sure thats loose gives u more room 2 play wit wen bolting lines up...i wouldnt go rotating the centre catridge...aaron would have sent it to u how its meant to be rotated...but ur choice..

    • Nope.    Grab a varex and turn it down as you get close to home, win win?
    • So, I've had my V36 for about a month now and have already copped an "excessive exhaust noise" notification from QLD TMR, reported by someone in my local area. It's a twin as per the original, and can have a bit of a throaty note to it when idling cold 😄 and if I do get up it a bit, it can be noisy, but it did pass a roadworthy inspection before sale, so.... ... but in the interest of being a good neighbour, I do want to quieten it down a bit. Is anyone here running a quiet aftermarket cat-back on their V36 or 370Z? And the big, bold question: does an aftermarket cat-back really make much of a performance difference on these cars?
    • The wiring diagram for the R33 RB25 is freely available, and is essentially the same same as most other RBs (just with differences as to which pin # does which job). To get the ECU to power up, you just need to provide power to the ECCS relay, and have the other power feeds that come in from the top left of the wiring diagram (wrt the ECU) that give perma power to the fuel pump relay, the ECU itself, etc etc, all connected. When you put power on all these it will just come to life. It's pretty clear from the diagram what needs to happen. Just follow the lines from the 12V + supply stuff in the top left over towards the ECU. I've even posted snips of such diagrams (not for vanilla 25, I think for Neo and 26) to various threads here in the last few months, talking about what it takes to get the fuel pump and FPCM up and going. Search these up and they will help get you started on doing the same with the vanilla 25 diagram. Hell, for all I know, I've done the same with that one in years past and have forgotten.
    • Yep...so unless someone posts up the answer you will need to probe from the ECU connector to the dash plug with a multi meter in continuity mode to trace the wires.  Note the ECU has multiple - and + (and across different key settings - Battery, IGN and Start) and most likely the power is fed from the connector(s) that is normally near the left hand headlight.
    • Thanks Duncan, I am actually just trying to get the Rb turning and running with the RB25DET S2 original loom itself  I am just trying to get it going outside the body and not thinking about the S15 or trying to match anything to the S15 loom at all I am only trying to see if anyone has done this and what pin they found to be the ignition trigger and ECU+/- on the dash connector, that's about it. Thanks
