Transporting Rims From Qld (cod)

Hey everyone,

I've just agreed to buy some rims off someone in Queensland and was wondering if anyone has ever had rims sent over to Melbourne from Queensland, cash on delivery before?

Any info regarding cost, time, companies etc would be most appreciated.

Unsure if U have organised anything as of yet but I work for a transport company that will be able to provide transport from QLD to Melbourne but we dont do COD. Not sure if any company's actually does this at all.

www.auspost.com.au do cod, and are one of the biggest postage companies, but your probably looking at around $90-120 for postage and delivery, maybe more

That sounds way too cheap as it would be a pallet spot u are paying for.

But have a look into it and let us know, if its that cheap I may start using them myself ... lol.

Well thats an average price from australian air express who don't offer cod (we move alot of wheels around and they charge us about $30 for every 10 kilo'ish box).. I guess AAE is more corporate and would probably have better rates. Also guessing cod will cost extra so my quote is probably a bit off

My wheels came from sydney on a bus...and I don't think it cost the sender much...around $100ish maybe

I can recommend bus freight (www.busfreight.com.au) for large or heavy items. We also have our own courier (Allied Express) and get very good rates for large boxes, if you give me dimensions, postcodes and weight I could get a quote for you.

Are you shipping the wheels with tires?

Australia post to my knowledge is the only company which will do COD.

But you can forget australia post. As a in a box wheel will cube out too much.

I onced used couriers please to do COD, but you can forget that aswell since your sending to QLD.

so your sh!t out of luck with COD.

If you want to just freight up. Try:

TNT, IPEC, AAE, fastway (don't know if they deliver to QLD, maybe only NSW), NQX, etc.

Aviod DHL since its only national and they will charge way too much.

I used STAR TRUCK,

Onced i had 8 rims+tyres transport down from NSW though i don't know how much it costed as i did it through my company . All you need to do is box them up, STAR TRUCK truck will come around and pick them up.

Do you mean Star Track? If so, they are good and deliver the goods. They have a very good business model and customer service is excellent.
