hi fellow Wa'ers

After thinking its time to have another get together and having some people mentioning they want a meet up i am trying to organise another successful event just like the last two :P

At this stage it is looking about the Sunday 13th May(no longer as this is mothersday) so what about the 6th or the Sunday the 20th May, obviously the more convenient one for everyone will be the one that is chosen!

Just wanting some pointers if people want to go for a northie or a southie cruise or cruise somewhere for a lunch or what. If you have any ideas or places chuck them in here :(

cheers

I am just a newbie here.. but ..

we ( perth pulsar ) did a "3d cruise " which was basically driving around the hills and visiting the dams.

was a really nice day.. lovely scenery up there and some windy bits too.

though I dont know how well a 4.8m Station wagon would go around the " zig Zags "

but I could arrange to get you a copy of the map if you wanted?

Bear in mind the 13th is mothersday.,, so people might have previous engagements.

Oh and despite us not HAVING a stagea ( yet) we would love to come along and maybe just chat at one of the meet ponts ?

and maybe just catch up with the perth stagea scene :P

or we found a nice picnic spot up at the Churchman brooke dam . .

arrr crap...forgot about mothers day(it doesnt get celebrated in my house) so its either the week prior being the 6th of May or the 20th :)

our last cruise was up the hills, the weir and to the chocolate factory stopping at whitemans for lunch but definately if you can grab me a copy of the cruise you mentioned that would be sweeet (of course i will not copy) :)

Ska although i love you heaps...rockhampton might be a tad out of our way :P If your lonely i could get my brother to drop in :( *actually i wont* :)

Kristie I got 2 maps for you.. how shall I get them to you ( would rather not attach it to a post here )

can I just email it to you .. or are you on msn messenger?

oh and the 3 dams cruise might be a bit long .. but it covers the Canning / Mundairing and Serpentine dams :P

but I would imagine the stageas are good for long haul driving?

Edited by ssshonky

yeah if you could send it to either one of these email addresses - this is my msn and my email addie - [email protected] or send it to this one [email protected]

thanks champ :P

i was actually thinking of suggesting the serpertine dam :(

is churchman brooke dam in roleystone..i cant even remember????

Yes it is - the road out there is an absolute ripper too, and its just around the corner from Lady McNess drive - one of the special stages for Targa West! (They had a yellow series 2 as a course car)

opps typo...i have changed in now...it should have read mrsgtst :P

dont worry about mister grumpy pants its the old age setting in :(

no trouble caused...seens that email address are already posted on here for the backup

:) if you were 'hunglikeadonkey' then what the hell are you doing in here :) :)

just got the email from sean thanks champ they look the goods :)

Hey, us Dirk Digglers of the new millenium have to earn a living too!

*edit* I vote for the 20th too. Anything that involves the hills and / or coast would be great

Hey Dude, my bet is Mothers Day will be an occaision in your house this year. Specially if ya tell the kids they'll get icecream and jelly! They'll be onto their dad like the proverbial.

Enjoy. :)

i highly doubt my stagea will be sorted by then, but ill come along in the gto as usual

might be abit more reliable than the damn stagea

any date is good by me :(

Hey Kirstie we betta get Lee on this cruise as i havent seen or spoke to him on/offline for months now

    • LOL.... a good amount of people (not all) on that continent seem to know everything and like to measure things in bananas, football fields, statue of liberties instead of the metric system lol.
    • I assume the modules are similar enough, so if you've had no issues I don't see why I would. I have tried to find a wiring diagram for the FPCM / fuel pump circuit, but I can't find it anywhere. Otherwise, I would just do some wire cutting and joining at the FPCM and give the 12 V supplied to the FPCM directly to the pump instead. If you know anyone that could help with wiring diagrams, I'd be very happy
    • If it dies, then bypass. The task isn't difficult. I have one running on a standard R32 FPCM. That's after nearly 20 years of it running an 040, which pull substantially more current than the Walbro. They're not the same module, but I'd hope it indicates that the R33 one should be man enough for the job. I think people kill them when putting proper sized pumps on them, not these little toy pumps we're talking about here.
    • Silicone spray won't hurt anything. And if it does, that's an opportunity to put some solid steel spherical bushings in, so you can really learn what suspension noise sounds like, If you're going to try it, just spray one bush at a time, so you can work out which one is actually noisy. My best guess is that if the noise started only since putting the coilovers in, then it is just noise being transmitted up through the top mounts of the struts, and not necessarily "new" noise from bushes. But it's almost impossible to know.
    • Are you saying the 34 is SUV height, and not that we're talking about an SUV here? (because if we're talking about an SUV, you don't fix them. You just replace them when something breaks. Not worth establishing sufficient emotional connection with an SUV to warrant doing any work on one). I wouldn't jack my car up on a short little loop of 10mm steel rod poking out through a hole in the bumper bar, front or rear end. I realise that we're probably not talking about that type of loop at the front, being the one under/behind the bar on a Skyline.... but even for that one, trying to jack up on what amounts to a thin piece of steel, designed purely for withstanding a horizontal tension force, not a vertical compressive force (and so would be prone to buckling/crushing) and, my most particular bitch about it - located RIGHT AT THE EXTREME FRONT OF THE CAR, applying a load up through the radiator support panel, etc, with almost the entire mass of the car cantilevered between there and the rear wheels? Nope. Not doing that. Not on the regular. That structure out there in front of the front crossmember is not designed to carry load in the vertical direction. Not really designed to carry any load at all, really. The chassis rail that the tow point is connected to would be fine loaded in tension, as per towing. Not intended to carry the mass of the whole car, especially loaded all on one rail, with twisting and all sorts of shitty load distribution going on. No, I will happily drive up on some pieces of wood, thanks. That can only happen on driven wheels, and they are at the other end of the car, and this problem does not exist at that end of the car. And even then, I have been known to drive up on at least 1x piece of 2x8 each side at the rear, simply to reduce the amount of jack pumping necessary to get the car up high enough for the jack stands. What really really shits me about Skylines is the lack of decent places for chassis stands at either end of the car. You'd think they'd be designed into the crossmembers.
