i drove my 260 stagea back from brisbane to perth and i think it cost about 650 in fuel but that is doin 130/140 most of the way, running it on bp ultimate and payin $1.68 and $1.63 a ltr at two stops. It was about another 500-600 for two people for food/accomadatuion etc. and this was in march 07

"scootypuff jr"???

wtf? Sounds like a illicit drug smoking implement.

And don't let the lack of a stagea stop you from cruising, you won't be the only one!

(Yes Heath, I am talking about YOU - you are coming aren't you?)

haa. the " scootypuff jr " comment was taken from an Episode of futureama.

Basically Fry has to escape the aliens mother ship on a wind up childs toy.

thats about as much power as My partners Daewoo Lanos has.. hence its name :D

But its as reliable as the day is long.. so we are not bothering to upgrade it.

well . turns out the stagea arrives in Brisbane TODAY .. so . it apparently gets cleaned for 5-7 days.. what do they clean it with ? a toothbrush? then it needs to get complianced ( 1 week or so ? )

then get on a boat over here.. ( WA )

but .. who knows it MIGHT get here in time for the cruise..

we will be coming ( I think) wont be in Mitchy's skyline thats for sure >_< (see WA section)

Yaeh saw that last night, pass on our sincere condolences Kylie.

RIP ARRRH 33 >_<

we will be coming ( I think) wont be in Mitchy's skyline thats for sure :D (see WA section)

Kylie i feel for you and Mitchy...that was an awesome R33 and to see and hear about everything he has done to that car now completely gone i cant imagine what he is feeling :( Give him a hug from us ok :(

    • Hard to say, just pop the rocker covers off and have a look if you think it's cammed. You probably need to replace the valve cover gasket/half moons anyways.
    • From my youth: GTi-R clutch change is a massive pain. The gearboxes are fragile? But the car is super cool and I want one 😢

    • Driveline vibration is resolved. I ended up loosening all my engine mount and trans mount bolts, giving it a good shake then retightening everything and it's gone... Let's just say I was surprised that fixed it.  I've been happily driving it around again but unfortunately put zero time into my direct port/constant pressure WMI setup. I'm on vacation next week, so I'll try and finalize it then.  On a different note, I spent all week fuel/ignition mapping 2x 216L V16 engines. Turbo's were burning glycol and we swapped them out for larger units. We also had planned emissions testing on site, so I figured I'd be there the same week to use their instrumentation and massage any emissions issues out if needed. This was a first for me. Fuel management is similar in certain ways to automotive (i.e air density as load variable) but very different in others. It's all PLC based and AFR's are controlled by air and not fuel. They use a control valve between the turbo and air manifold to control pressure which in turn controls AFR's. Due to this, target AFR tables supplied by the OEM are in pressures and not mass which really through me off. They use air pressure vs fuel pressure tables. I also relied on an O2 concentration sensor the emissions team had in the exhaust. Ignition timing was also all over the place and we were losing a fair bit of power. They're now happily sitting at 16-40BTDC depending on load. We were making about 1600kw at 900rpm at 90% load. Engines were running a lot smoother as well.
