Whats with this word CHEAP?

Car audio shops dont work for nothing. They have an hourly rate of $85 an hour to stick at least otherwise their business wont survive. Something to think about if you want a better job than what you currently have in your car.

i got my install through this guy in 3 cars now, he used to work for strathfield but has his own setup now. he came to my house in nedlands and did a top job for about 30% cheaper than anywhere else. name is daniel 0408792466. great work he does but prepared that hes not the most reliable person around as in he wont be there on time haha

Alberts or CarStereoCity are the 2 major car audio shops that come to mind... but they would be the most expensive

Although I have heard good things about the knowledge and quality of installs at Strathfield also.

damn strathfiled.. may them and their clan detortiate with immediate effect. diy with car audio seems like the best thing to me

Had a bad experience mate?

Although, I agree with the DIY thing, I have done my own a few times in 3 different cars and some friends...

they already have here in brissy- they are contracted to private fitters now. ( I have one.) only irony of it all is walking back into the place and taking it over since a lot of the people that worked there when I did (5 years ago) are still there :P

anyway..

DIY if you have a clue if not pay for it :)

Sorry, what do you mean when you said you got your install through this guy in 3 cars ?

Do you mean this guy has done or installed your sound system on all your 3 cars ?

I'm sorry, just a little confused. Is he like mobile service ? They come to you and do it in your garage ?

Because I actually want to install a new set of front and rear speakers that I bought, but Albert's & West Side said it's going to take at least 3 hours and

I don't have anyone to pick me up.I mean,I don't wanna wait 3 hours inside the shop and do nothing haha.If this Daniel guy can come to my house and

install my speakers then that would be awesome !

Thanks !

Haha very funny man.Of course I know but I live like 11kms away from West Side. From the shop to my house and my house to the shop will cost me $35.00

I'm the kind of person who likes to save lol.I'm cancelling my appointment with that mobile service guy anyways, the earliest they can do it is on Thursday next week.

I better wait 3 hours and get it done on Monday :).

Thanks !

    • A few small updates since the previous post and lessons. I decided to do a little interior light upgrade on the 110. I quite like the iilumo items, even if they're a bit of a premium over other brands. You'll also note the Stedi Fogs, that will go into the S15 fog lights as I needed to match the bulbs since I got the new ones earlier. I hope they fit as the body is quite a bit longer than your normal bulb.  Annoyingly, I managed to trip the fuse, which normally wouldn't be an issue until I located the fuse. I can't say I've ever come across this. I had lucked out that someone nearby had a spare, but oddly enough Toyota dealerships seem to keep this in stock. I ordered some to keep in my stash and as luck would have it, someone else nearby tripped the same fuse so I passed on the favour.  I also did a little service on the 110 ahead of some additional work coming up. It's been annoying that Goleby's stopped carrying this particular HKS filter for the 110, so now I need to keep them on order from Japan. I also took the opportunity to install a bash plate and number plate riser. The plate riser is such a cheap but nice fix to help really tidy up the car. I'm tempted to now also replace my headlights, on this car. Both items were from Project Aero.    I also needed to replace the rear tyres on the 110, and after trying to get it aligned learnt that I need to replace some bushes in the front end, so that's next.  Closing out this update with a nicer picture as always!
    • Yeah mate, never miss it.
    • Any going to watch World Time Attack at SMSP this year?
    • Appreciate the correction on the "ground", that will make a huge difference to looking at this. That makes complete sense about AF70/AF71 which is what I had come down to being the issue, one of these. I'll have another look in the ignition wiring when I get a chance next week. I'll also make up a jumper wire for running that AF73 test.  ECU is fine, relay itself is fine, pump harness is fine and the pump itself is fine. I am going to upgrade the Walbro 255 anyway with a DW300 I have since I need to replace the fuel sender and I'm going to upgrade the FPR with my chasebays kit ready for new plenum/injectors/dbw, but I'll get this working first. That's why this is so frustrating.
