Hi there, >_<

Just thought I would say gday to all you people and introduce myself.

My names Dave and ive had a 98(Yes Really) S2 R33 since 2000 which I have kept dead stock until 6 months ago when I decided to finally go down the modding path. When I bought the car it was one of only a handfull in Australia and have watched over the years as they have grown in popularity.

I have only had V8's all my life and promised myself after my last car(HZ Statesman with 550hp 350chev) I will never do up a car again!!

But the bug always come back doesnt it (Much to my wifes disgust :ninja: )

So far ive only done the usual mods(FMIC,APEXi Super Suction Kit, Custom Air Box W/CAI, Split Dump Pipe, High Flow Cat & HKS Exhaust....Clutch Kit on the way) And will be getting ECU and HKS GTRS at some stage in the near future. I just sent off my NSW membership application yesterday so keep your eye out for my on the streets of sydney and give us a wave.

I look forward to meeting some of you guys at events/Track days (When work permits :ninja: )and getting to know some of you better.

Here is a picture of my baby from about 7months ago the week before I started doing the mods.

I have a real passion for the skyline and want to have not only a fast but well built and smartly modified street/Track car that i cant see me getting rid of for a long time yet. Anyway I think Ive rambled on long enough ( Im off work with the flu and I'm getting REALLY bored at home)

Take it easy people and I look forward to talking more with You all

welcome man :ninja:

you should learn that work and SAU co-inside with each other...

also, you should have signed up yesterday, we have weekly group gatherings on thursdays >_<

what would you say you prefer? this turbo 6 or a V8?

Primordial: I live out Dural way.

DRD-OOF: I do love this turbo 6 but ill always have a soft spot for my statesman (Spent over 30k on it) there is nothing quite like the sound of a full house Chev you know!!

Plus it did go HAAAAAARRRD. Just very hard to get nearly 2.5 ton of 70s metal to stop!!

yeah i can admit, a V8 sounds like a monster :ninja: not ot mention theres just simply more potential in them as far as power goes...

you will find most skyline owners are fans of good workmanship, motoring and engineering... its not always turbos vs V8's... its just the two sides get very defensive >_< as you would probably know... you've been on both sides :ninja:

Dural hey... so youve got a million long windy roads at your disposal? :ninja:

"I think i've seen your car around before actually. I live at Cherryrbook."

Yeh you probably have. I havent driven it much lately tho cause ive been doin the mods myself and the exhaust only turned up last week( Still waiting for my bloody cat so havent even started it with new zorst on it!!!)

"Dural hey... so youve got a million long windy roads at your disposal?"

Yeh mate many, many, many windy roads out here!!

msnismo: I know, like I said I promised myself (And my wife) that I wont start modding again but after 7yrs I just couldnt help myself. Im sure you all know how it is.

Im just hangin out for my cat to turn up so I can crank it over and take it for a spin

    • Hi guys, long time no post as per usual! It's been a busy year so far, the biggest thing being a new job.  After 28 years in the automotive industry I decided it was time for a change.  I was losing faith in the industry and where it's heading.  Now in a completely different industry (electrical) working for a company that manufacture water pump contollers.  Not as sexy as cars but it's an interesting,  challenging industry. I now don't work Saturdays which is a bonus!  It's still 50-55 hours a week but having Saturdays ack after 28 years of working them is awesome!   No news on the GT-R but i did decide to add some more JDM goodness into my life....           1990 300 ZX.  She's not perfect but for a 35 year old car she ain't bad!  Just going to tidy it up a bit and enjoy it.  It's currently auto but will start stockpiling everything for a manual swap. It WILL distract me even further from the GT-R but im hoping not for too long! It somewhat proves a 6'8" freak can fit in a 300 ZX.  Sort of...  I drove it home from the previous owners house in Melbourne via Black Spur and Merton Gap (2 awesome bits of Victorian twisty road) and it was amazing!  Handles so well!!!   I don't think it would be worthy of a full build page but I'll post up some of the upgrades here if anyone is interested?  Cheers guys!
    • End game is to: - Remove all the slop from old worn parts - Adjust setup so that the wheels actually fit and the car is drivable (currently it is not because of the extreme rubbing on the guards).   Progress over the last couple of days, removed the rear hubs! Next steps: - Buy bushings - Replace bushings/bearings on hub - Reinstall
    • Cracked deck  And other cam snap stuff
    • A few random issues have popped up since my last update. My WMI pressure sensor failed within about 10 minutes of it seeing liquid. It was a 20$ China special, so I'm not surprised. My name brand replacement should arrive today.  My power steering assist also decided to crap out last weekend. The usual, works for about 60 seconds after starting the car then I lose it. I dusted off my old copy of NDS and connected to the HICAS ECU. Code 4 for assist solenoid.... I tested the solenoid and it's fine.  I knew the day where my HICAS ecu would crap out would come, and I welcome it. It was the last HICAS part on the car that is now in the bin. I've ordered an SSR and I will control the power steering solenoid with my Haltech ecu. It will be nice to have proper speed referenced assist again after all these years.
