Yeah i know.

But a 500hp/.63 rear GT30 wont get him real 400rwhp either ;)

He'll need to go bigger, and thats less responsive

So cut the losses and go response for 350rwhp and have a more responsive car.

Which at about 350rwhp is spot on and doesnt require a lot of upgrading other areas

I agree, even if you are limited to 250-260rwkw with a hiflow/GT25/GT28 unit thats only the peak power figure. It'd be the power and torque curves of the turbo that will show you where the mid-range of the turbo would be alot different I reckon.

there was a guy on here a while ago, that made made 346rwkw on a .3040 .63, he had forged internals power fc and just a set of pon cams. but yeh i do agree bigger turbo means easier power but more lag lol.

It was a .82 :)

And the person was bigcarl.

You wont get 340rwkw with a .63, i dont even think you'd get there on some better fuel, C16 etc.

ive got a gt2835 pros and got 251rwkw @ 16psi with a very shitty tune... i dont think im close to the limit of the turbo yet

gt3076 500hp turbo gave me 260rwkws on 20 psi at 3500rpm / 3800rpm

Thats fairly high boost there, i really only wanna be running like 14-15, so im not punishing my engine. Thats why i was told to go with the GT3040 because its got the .63 so it should still spool up fast. And also make the same power as the GT3076 but on lower boost.

take the excellent advice you are getting. HKS GT-RS, GCG Hi-flow, Slide Hi-FLow are the picks for a streeter RB25. every other turbo compromises where you will spend 90% of your time ie: between 2700-5500rpm

forget peak hp numbers and buy something that will be quick everywhere that makes great average power and these three turbos fit the bill.

anything larger will be a poor cousin according to your originally stated goals.

Boost doesn't kill (punish) an engine - poor tuning will kill an engine before boost does...

For the record, I have an ext gated GT3040R with supporting mods and make +285rwkw on 17psi with full boost in the low 4k rpm range. It's a little laggy, but still very streetable - i also don't mind the old fang at the drags, so I wanted something with a reasonable top end - I've done an 11.9 @ 118.

BUT, this turbo would not be my first choice if I was after a nice, responsive streeter. As MANY people have already said, the HKS2835ProS or GT-RS would be my turbo of choice (and yes, they do come with the T3 flange to bolt directly to an rb25). Full boost in the mid to high 3k rpm range making an easy +250rwkw with supporting mods.

Do yourself a favour and listen to the advice people in the know (and with experience) and giving you

try fanging it around a corner on boost

Why would i be doin that in a built up area?... yeah fair enough street car but i'd boot it somewhere sensible from most likely 50km onwards, like an open road, and i reckon boost should be on tap from there anyway. I dont wanna race from traffic light to traffic light like a new kid with his P plates or circuit race the thing.

For street use i mean i dont want a massive turbo that kicks me sideways the whole way up the street on boost, but one that can take off from normal driving and have heaps off balls and a possiblity to go quicker if i intend to in the future.

If u have an aftermarket turbo you can comment on it. (like bigcarl, sinistagtst etc) And more often than not u'll be bias towards it. But i reckon half the comments on here are from guys with stock turbos running their mouth, am i right. The only real way to know whats better is to have driven both and thats what i was really after, not someone guessing what would be best, i can do that!

I also wanna run my car down the quater and see what time i'll get, and from what sinistagtst and the turbo shops tell me this is the turbo best suited and what im lookin for

ECR033 - Boost doesn't kill (punish) an engine - poor tuning will kill an engine before boost does...

Yeah im sure poor tuning kills engines... find me someone who doesnt know that. I never said i was gonna get it tuned badly just for the hell of it did i. But u agree excess boost will damage engines... thats what i said!? And thats why if i can get to a certian power figure with the same spool up time and less boost i'll be doing it.

    • It is a kunfine Android screen . Does anyone know the wirering diagram of the fuga ??
    • just an update to this, poor man pays twice  Tried sanding down the pulleys but it didnt do the trick. Chucked another second hand alternator in the na car which I got for free off my mate and its fixed the squelling. Must have been unlucky with the bearings.    As for my turbo car, I managed to pick up a cwc rb alternator conversion bracket + LS alternator for 250 off marketplace, looked to be in really good nick. Installed it , started the car and its not charging the battery.... ( Im not good with auto elec stuff so im not sure if this was all I needed to do but I verified such by using a multimeter on the battery when the engine was running and I was only getting 12.2v )   I had to modify the earth strap for the new LS alternator , factory earth strap was a 10mm bolt which did not fit the bolt on the LS alternator which was double the size so I cut it off , went to repco bought some ring terminals that fit, crimped it onto the old earth strap and bolted it up to the alternator , started the car and same issue. Ran like shit and was reading 12.2 at the battery.  For a "plug and play" advertised kit thats not very plug and play but alas.  My question is , am I missing something ? Ive been reading that some people recommend upgrading the stock 80 amp alternator fuse to a 140 amp but I dont see how that would stop the alternator charging especially at idle not under load.  Regardless ive pulled it out and am going to get it bench tested by an auto elec tomorrow but it would be handy to know if ive missed something silly or have done something wrong.
    • My wild guess is that you have popped off an intake pipe....check all of the hoses between the turbo and the throttle for splits or loose clamps.
    • Awesome, thanks for sharing!
    • To provide more specific help, more information is needed. What Android screen? What is its wiring diagram? Does the car's wiring have power at any required BAT and ACC wires, and is the loom's earth good?
