Very nice...

Soarer TT... he posted it up in the for sale section... has a vertex kit on it.

Shes pretty much sold on it :)

How embarasing... my quiet as a mouse gf maybe having a faster car than mine... FOR NOW! :P

funniest thing was ringing up and getting a quote on insurance... shes nearly 25 (2 months away) with a spotless driving record and im only 22 with a speeding fine and on the same rating with RACV theres like 200 dollars difference between the 2 quotes LMAO. She was expecting to get insured for like a grand at the max haha

another thing was i got a quote with that soarer in my name and got a quote of 2500... asked for a quote on a GTR (1990 cause 89s arent in the list) which has the same sized engine almost, same amount of turrbos, technically the same power but the GTR i quoted has less mods and it came up with 2900 for full cover but thats no guarantee that the computer will accept it. Ghey arse double standards.

i been looking at cars for my gfriend for the last 3 months!

FTO's, Pug 206 GTI, Proton Satria GTI, Supra (laughed when she drove 1 for the first time coz she couldnt see anything properly), Vectra, 300zx, Mazda 323 SP, and i am quite sick of looking at em all now.

INASNT,

if you dont mind me saying Satria GTIs are crap.. I'm sorry to say that but i come from Malaysia and they are everywhere but this is not the problem .. sure its Torquey but its just not the best bang for the buck ..

i'm sure there are much better cars in the market than a GTI .. and besides its a Proton ! you guys know how dodgy protons are right ? their sales here in Australia is so low, they are struggling with it ..

just my opinion though .. just dont want you and/or your gf to regret ..

inark,

soarers are sweeet !!

cheers guys !

yeah man .. i know what you're saying .. they are just not worth the money .. for the price you pay for an end 90s design with crappy 4G93 engines .. and the interior is another joke !

lol doxx... if she does get it i will definately have to upgrade to something faster... altho (sinful as it maybe) i have been looking at NON nissan alternatives to my GTST

*dodges the stones*

I saw that Soarer josie was looking and a few weeks ago and thought it was a pretty good deal.. should grab it.

NOOOOOO! no matter which car my next one is it should be a nissan.. What alternatives u been thinking of nark??

pred -

RX7 TT series 6

96 GTO TT

98 Legnum VR4 TT

something a little more "exotic" and rare that i can see for an extra bit of cash.... i was thinking of getting my mum to bring me one over in a year and if i get a GTO i can sell it for an extra 20k... same with the RX7. Then maybe look at getting an R34 GTR

    • Yeah well per the video it took 15s for the stock unit to start up....even if I give it a few seconds discount for starting that is at least 12 sec before you get a reverse camera if you are trying to leave a park.  The android unit is way faster, but 2016 for the stock unit is a long time ago in consumer electronics
    • Yea that’s why I said ima test them with multimeter and see the reads.
    • Only at idle. Isn’t a problem when rev it seems.
    • @Haggerty This seems silly to ask, but are you confident in your ability to tune the Haltech?
    • Next on the to-do list was an oil and filter change. Nothing exciting to add here except the oil filter is in a really stupid place (facing the engine mount/subframe/steering rack). GReddy do a relocation kit which puts it towards the gearbox, I would have preferred towards the front but there's obviously a lot more stuff there. Something I'll have to look at for the next service perhaps. First time using Valvoline oil, although I can't see it being any different to most other brands Nice... The oil filter location... At least the subframe wont rust any time soon I picked up a genuine fuel filter, this is part of the fuel pump assembly inside the fuel tank. Access can be found underneath the rear seat, you'll see this triangular cover Remove the 3x plastic 10mm nuts and lift the cover up, pushing the rubber grommet through The yellow fuel line clips push out in opposite directions, remove these completely. The two moulded fuel lines can now pull upwards to disconnect, along with the wire electrical plug. There's 8x 8mm bolts that secure the black retaining ring. The fuel pump assembly is now ready to lift out. Be mindful of the fuel hose on the side, the hose clamp on mine was catching the hose preventing it from lifting up The fuel pump/filter has an upper and lower section held on by 4 pressure clips. These did take a little bit of force, it sounded like the plastic tabs were going to break but they didn't (don't worry!) The lower section helps mount the fuel pump, there's a circular rubber gasket/grommet/seal thing on the bottom where the sock is. Undo the hose clip on the short fuel hose on the side to disconnect it from the 3 way distribution pipe to be able to lift the upper half away. Don't forget to unplug the fuel pump too! There's a few rubber O rings that will need transferring to the new filter housing, I show these in the video at the bottom of this write up. Reassembly is the reverse Here's a photo of the new filter installed, you'll be able to see where the tabs are more clearing against the yellow OEM plastic Once the assembly is re-installed, I turned the engine over a few times to help build up fuel pressure. I did panic when the car stopped turning over but I could hear the fuel pump making a noise. It eventually started and has been fine since. Found my 'lucky' coin underneath the rear seat too The Youtube video can be seen here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uLJ65pmQt44&t=6s
