Thats us.

Pretty dissappointing, looks like we picked the wrong night to go for a virgin run. Neither Carlo or myself had run the quarter before so it was a good experience. I chose stupidly to ignore judds advice to give it 6k off the line (more like 4,000) and bogged down, this along with a very ordinary run and not knowing what to expect landed me a 14.8 (boo)

We hoped to get back to have a proper run but the buggers turned us away at the last minute.

Everyone seemed to be having problems last night (Everyone being SAU guys). Missing gears, bogging down, traction etc it was all happening.

Still though its great that your all getting out their and giving it a go. My highlight of the night woulda been the rotary that wheelstanded and left half his rear bumper behind. Thats gotta be the best wheel stand ive seen in my life. I think he still held onto it to get a 11-12sec pass lol.

Tex... I'm starting to think that you need to either a) quit your job and become the full time SAU camera man (the pay sucks though)

B) hire someone to be your assistant!

Soooo... I should choose between quitting my job, therefore having no income, to do a job that pays nothing, OR I should hire someone (presumably using some of the money I don't get paid for doing the job) in order to help me with it?

Hmmmm... Let me sleep on that one. :bahaha:

Has anyone ever told you you're an ideas man, Dan? :)

Carlo,

Ur adrenalin levels may have caused you to apply the throttle a little to much 4 a RWD, plus the extra grip of the surface at EC.

With my old GTST, I tried different throttle applications when accelerating from the hole-shot.

eg: try 3500rpm launch and progressively accelerate by squeezing the throttle B4 nailing it.

With a Helmet on, and cars and people around you.....it really is harder than it looks.

and yeah, Trackdays are way more fun....:(

As soon as my new clutch goes in I'll be out there too :(

Nick - I did a few trials before going out to EC and I found anything below 6000rpm I bogged badly. I was heaps hesitant to do it but the only way to get it off the line fully is to use the rev limiter or just shy of it..... while you're holding it on the line like that it seems like your car is going to explode haha. I've been told to hold the car with the handbrake and let the handbrake slip whie I come off the line..... I'll try this next time out.

Judd what times did u get? I remember last time I saw ur out there you did pretty good for a stockish GTR.

yes im quite happy.with the time..just not the circumstances.car i was meant to run throttle jammed open so i was waiting there by my self. waiting for the car looking back next minute i looked at my lights and they were green..i know its not timed from then. so put me off..but still managed PB time. so happy in that respect.

Most of us got 1 run which sucks. Buster got 5 runs..but he got there at 2pm. i was planning too but got held up then crash on the M4 didnt help. wasnt a real good day.

    • Absolute f*cking nightmare. I had to take breaks constantly, and I was always pissed off when I got home. The line split in Italy on day 2 (we drove from the Netherlands), lol. Driving any narrow European town was... well, sh*t.   Appreciate it man. Here, I'll just drop a favourite from the load I took on Saturday.   I'll update here when things happen with the car, the thing is, with stock power and almost everything chassis-wise taken care of, there really are no problems. 268,000kms now and counting.
    • Ah! I actually managed to snag a lightly used set.... that aren't so suitable for me right now. They don't work on a GTT without some cutting or creative heat moulding. I thought about reselling them myself cause I didn't want to murder them, but it looks like I'm probably going to attempt to murder them/melt them because I may as well. @GTSBoy @PranK can somebody close this thread?
    • Hey mate,  I have a set, one is slightly damaged but wont be noticable once installed.  Shoot me a message if your still after them
    • I couldn't wait But, the black constant tension hose clamps were too thick and there wasn't enough clearance at the T/B and I couldn't get it to seat properly, so I had use a silver one there I also added some 3" silicone over the alloy bit that goes through to hole on the radiator support as it looked like it was sitting on the edge of the hole in the radiator support, I never noticed a rattle or anything, but there was a witness mark It is basicly done, and I can live with the silver hose clamp at the T/B, I will get a black clamp for the head vent though where it is attached to the bulkhead fitting  It never stops...LOL, only issue now with the shock tower brace is it slightly touches the under bonnet liner now, if I leave it it will either wear some paint off the brace where it touches, or damage the liner, so I removed the liner to see what I have to work with, with the liner removed I have about 20mm of clearance, but sadly the middle part of the underside of the bonnet is only dusted with paint and looks crap, so I cannot have that, but.... as I have a roll of Carbuilders premium under bonnet insulation in the garage laying around that is only 5.5mm thick (we were going to use it on the boys Patrol, but he crashed the front of it a few months and it was written off, hence why he now drives my old Honda Accord Euro), I'll use the OEM liner as a template and get the Carbuilders stuff fitted up to cover that dusted paint up
