You fool... he said VSPEC diff...

its LSD oil...

Castrol LSX90 will do.. i changed mine today

Dont give advice if you arent sure

hahaha good one mate. do you have any idea what your on about or how a v-spec lsd works? go lean some things thanks.

i spose you would put a lsd oil in a helical diff to you noob

let me start..

first off. a lsd oil is a lsd oil because of the friction modifiers to prevent "chatter" in the clutches and give smooth takeup

. v-spec diffs have zero preload. and no chatter problems.

also they are controlled by a ecu and require a constant rate of friction to work corectly. putting a friction modified oil in is not what is recomended. you can but it wont work as the engineers intended. just like sticking a lsd oil in you gearbox. have fun selecting lol

you put a lsd oil in a viscose diff?? no. why? cos theres no exposed friction plates. threre a sealed unit. dont recomend oils to people ok

how does the ecu control the diff? i have never heard of this and am very curious. is there a site which can help me out i am very very interested

its a v-spec.

(hydrolicly controlled) its controlled by the atessa ecu im pretty sure. unless theres a seperate a-lsd ecu

There is a seperate ALSD ECU as the GTSTs dont have an atessa ecu... and on the actual diff it has stamped USE LSD OIL ONLY

I dont pull this info out of my arse mate.. i actually have a GTR Vpsec Active LSD

Now im willing to accept that perhaps a non LSD oil can be used.. but if nissan saw fit to stamp in metal on the actual Diff LSD OIL ONLY.. then who am i to argue

fair enough. for a minuite there i thought you were. if thats what the sticker says cool.

just like the standard r33gtr we imported that had "viscouse lsd" sticker on it when clearly its a standard 2 way. :D

you can use lsd oil in non lsd or viscouse for "heavy duty aplications" acording to most oil companys.

    • Does it also misfire equally when revving?   Josh is very correct in what you should do. The coilpack harness wiring loom itself is a known problem due to its age and the number of heat cycles it has gone through. Throwing parts at a vehicle to diagnose the issue isn't a smart or good way to do it. Secondly, you may have a bad coil pack, you pop replacements in, they fix that issue, but messing with the harness breaks it, so the issue persists. So now you think "well it wasn't the coil packs" and have to continue chasing your tail, potentially swapping back in your shit coil packs and returning the good ones (yes, I've seen people do this because 'it wasn't the problem' and they want to save money). And suddenly, you've got two issues with the same symptoms...   Diagnose, don't use the spare parts shotgun.
