johnabs
Hey, i got an r33 series 2 and my radiator is leaking. I was wondering if auto or manual radiators would make a difference becuase i think they are the same. Would a GTT or GTR radiator git in without mods. i just want to straight swap but personally rather a r33 s2 one. thanks john Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/169117-auto-and-manual-radiator-differences/ Share on other sites
TTT
In the R32's the Auto radiator had a small section under the radiator for the auto trans fluid to go through for cooling. it has a hole at each end for that. Not sure how the R33's are. it will still work fine thought.. the auto fluid holes don't actually go near the coolant.. SECURITY
if your car is auto, get an auto radiator UNLESS you have a decent sized aftermarket core, then you can re-rout the feed directly to it. the reason you cant use a manual one is because the coolant helps cool down the oil a bit before reaching the actual trans cooler core. the manual radiator doesnt have this feature. if your car is manual you can use either.
