Petrol Left In Tank For A Long Time

I was just wondering if petrol has been left in a tank for 4+ weeks whether it would sitll hold the same octane rating and if the car will still act the same way as with a tank of fresh petrol?

petrol does have an expiration date, but im sure 4 weeks is nothing to get worried over. it sits longer than that in storage.

the octane rating does decrease but 4 weeks should be fine, how much is in there? might be worth chucking in a bottle of octane boost just for the engines sake.

I had a container of petrol and after about 3 years or so it was almost impossible to even ignite

My car from japan was sitting there for around 3+ months..

When I started it up over here it ran ok (little rough), and had a pretty foul smell.

Just fill it up soon as you can to mix down the crap

Yeah i noticed the same thing. When the fuel is stale it tends smell different after its been burnt. Like previously stated just fill up with fresh stuff and she'll be fine

just concerned cos i haven't filled up for 4 weeks and i'm getting my car tuned now. hopefully it's still ok haha
