Is that your car in your pic? The 'lines won at Bathurst and still had the 180km/h cutout, up the Nissans! :D (kidding)

Seriously though, a PFC or dedicated cutout defender would be your best bet. Not sure if the 'wire 53' trick will work on the 32s, but I'd be suggesting that they do (might not be wire 53 though).

Unless you're ripping out the HICAS, cutting the wire isn't a good idea...I've heard that the HICAS does stoopid things when you cut the wire due to bad signal.

You could get the ECU reprogrammed (raise the boost & speed limiters, change fuel maps etc); or get an after-market device to do so (as mentioned by others). The Apexi RSM (i think they're about $300) gets rid of the speed cut. Run a search on the forum, as there's a number of devices made for this purpose.

Happy hunting :D

Me? only 210.

I'm sure some of those cheaters with mods go faster  Merli would see a pretty solid number!

AFAIK I still have the speed limiter in my car, so it must be pretty liberal in the 33s. I understand it is much stricter in the r32 (ie exactly 180)

ROM editor can do it if you know how... just checked the file

# NISSAN BNR32 RB26DETT MAP ADDRESS (E)

SPEED1_LIMIT,&H7FA5,2,1,1,2,Speed Limit 1

if there is a 28 pin EPROM chip in there (ECU) then i can do it for $80 (cos i have to unsolder and reprogram it). also can increase the rev limiter

    • Unsolicited advice? Keep the engine as close to stock as you can. Nothing wrong with adding some boost and making a little more power, but given where you are, you really don't want to try to make it into a monster. I can't imagine the roads are up to it, and the lack of locla support when it grenades will be a ball ache. FWIW, If there is a dyno around that you can access, then brand new injectors are a good idea, which will lead you to (at least) putting a Nistune in it, which will allow you to put an R35 AFM on it, all of which will make it possible to make it much much nicer to drive and live with.
    • List all of your mods. It sounds like an aftermarket ECU hitting rev limiter. Like a valet mode, or a cold rpm limiter?
    • @Kapr Haha yeah thats the one. I missed that you had a built up engine, I wouldn't want to run it on there either then. It was good in my situation just to replace the original turbo on a stock engine. @MBS206Yep definitely not a replacement for anything name brand
    • You are selling this? I have never bought something from marketplace...i dont know if i trust that enough. And the price is little bit "too" good...
