Everytime my cars in the driveway i take the battery out, 2 minute job. Plus i have the spare (tractor) tyre on the front so kinda puts ppl of stealing it. After seeing the RAA open the car with a piece of wire and a triangle shaped piece of wood, makes ya think how easy a skyline is to steal without an alarm - might just be 32's that are easy but yeh.

And yeh hope to hear everything is ok with your car. hopefully they cought whoever stole it and you find out who they are!.

Clutch has burnt out completely, and cannot transmit any power - it was slipping under power before, was already booked into Boost Worx. Thats probably why the car was dumped on Prospect Road, because the clutch failed completely. Apart from the broken window, not much damage. Little personal belongings gone, they took my old dash lights from the centre console worth about $1. They took my safety flare. Could have been heaps worse.

Thanks for keeping ya eyes out guys, and for your messages of support.

Everyone who doesnt have an immobiliser + alarm - please learn from my experience!

i told you that you would get her back mate!

Yes you did - what cross lotto numbers should i pick for this Sat night?

good to hear its been found hopefully no blown engine or diff

time to get an alarm me thinks

George from APS is on holidays as of last night - his wife has a bun in the oven which was due to arrive last night! My car will be locked in the garage with some fuses pulled until George is back to fit my alarm!

heard their was a high speed chase involving a skyline which got away in sa today didnt happen to be yours?

I heard a white nissan was in a chase, I didnt know for sure that it was a skyline. Mine was missing from Monday morning until Tuesday lunch time, not sure if thats in the time frame of the chase.

good to hear youve got her back.

wow - mate, 1st modification should always be an alarm.

search ebay if finances are lacking.

I got mine off ebay (1st purchase for the car), and had it installed asap along with a few other electrical items (boost controller, safc and alarm). Was $120 for wiring those 3 items up at Graham West Workshops (they outsource the electrician jobs, ring and ask who perhaps?).

Good to hear you got it back, you got away lucky too man, could have been heaps worse! Let this be a lesson to everyone! Oh and by the way, if you need a good alarm installer, PM me, got a good bloke who's done a few of my cars

Alternatively, see the guys at GT Autosound. I had them install an alarm on my R33 just after I bought it (2 weeks after I bought it, wouldnt drive it till it was done) and they did a top job with great service.

I've got a lot of respect for George, Adelaide Pro Sound - so i'd like to stick with him. The car can stay locked in the garage until he comes back to work. But thanks for the tips re other trusted installers.

I've heard not so good stories first hand off people from there zip ties and stuff, bits missing from installs but i guess no one is perfect

hes too quick to bag what isn't his or what he doesn't understand, but that doesn't mean hes isn't PRO @ what he does know.

^^ lol yeah i was thinking that pity there isnt a button you can press that when u leave your car the clutch acts like its fried and slips everywhere so theif leaves car due to no power ... btw i know PFC will limit RPM but yeah

You could put a valve in the hydraulics and achieve that but in the long-term it probably wouldn't do your pressure plate any good.

hey good to see you have the car back

and very lucky that you havent done any mods on your car yet

Hooray you got your car back! :/

My clutch is slipping, i dont think ill change it for security purposes ;)

Get an alarm with all the bells and whistles now, no skimping out. You're lucky its only $1000 for the best alarm and not $15,000 for a new skyline.

windows arent to cheap are they,

as rekin said, spend 1000 bucks on this, dont go cheap, get an alarm with all black wiring, and many features, and dont get one thatll annoy you in the long run. It'll be the best peace of mind.

    • I've looked up the parts number (41011AL501). It's around $700 OEM. Usually our Infiniti G35 here in Canada have interchangeable parts with my Stagea but the parts number are not the same. I have looked around and it seems the JDM 2005 V35 Skyline (which is the same as our G35) has the same caliper but I cannot confirm. And I can't find a repair kit. The inner brake pads drags on the rotor, seems to be rusty piston. Thanks for the info by the way
    • This coupled with 6-9 speed autos with ridiculously short gearing is why these modern shitbox cars always seem so fast off the line. If it wasn't for those things, Raptors would not seem fast. The problem we have is there is a driveability gap between a more gentle take off and a wheelspinning sideways launch. The difference between ankle flex required to achieve one and ankle flex required to achieve the other is about 0.5°.
    • Yeah I think I'm also with the opposite here. It's 'hard to keep up with traffic' because in the real world I'm accelerating with 15% throttle and they are pinning it. It feels like I'm being an overt dickhead at anything above 15% throttle, so the car sounds like I'm being an overt dickhead to keep up with/get ahead of traffic when I'm really just trying to drive with traffic. There would be no issue 'keeping up with traffic' if we used the same level of throttle input/aggression to drive around. People really do just drive around with their foot nearly pinned in econoboxes.
    • To be fair it's the other way around. 300kw is boring in a modern Golf or BMW. They are so competent / well-engineered / devoid of emotion that you have to go stupid fast to feel anything. Whereas the <300kw RB still makes all the right noises and it feels good to drive. Can pull off at the lights with the turbo whooshing and the blow-off pssshing and feel like the coolest kid on the block. Just don't look to the side where you'll see the bored housewifes in their shitbox Yaris/Corolla/Camry that kept up because you didn't go fast at all
    • 300kW is so boring in a Skyline, you'll get spanked by someone's mum's Golf with Alibaba pipes, and an email tune.
