Hey guys.

Looking at a security system for my skyline.

Tossing up between Viper and QuickTrak.

I want something that calls/sms me when there is movement with the car.

And satelite tracking.

Anyone know which ones are good and how much and where i can get these from?

Cheers.

Viper = crap and illegal so that means insured car = un-insured!

Quiktrack good .. expensive tho

Autowatch 854i good one  Im pretty sure Mr Rogers will agree its a winner with built in turbo timer .. but quik track has sat tracking .. Only a addon on autowatch :worship:

Qualifications: 15 years Industry Experience, Master Licence and installation Licence, ASIAL Member, CARSAFE

They are licensed qualified installers who can most likely install something that will be covered by insurance.

If you need an immobiliser for insurance, it's best to first ask your insurer what they require, as some insurance agencies may have different requirements. At the minimum it would be an Australian Standards approved immobiliser, which they can definitely do. Then talk to your alarm installer and tell them what your requirements are, and they can assist you.

Recommend the Autowatch 456 or as its now known as the 446premium insurance approved with certificate immobiliser/alarm/turbo timer and can do antihijack intergration will communicate with the CATE 800 GSM paging alarm and can also give you tracking for the price of paging it seems everything your looking for is right here, at a reasonable price too. :P

I read this as:

Autowatch 456 + CATE800

= Paging via GSM(Mobile Phone)

= Tracking also ??? how does this system track your vehicle? It doesnt have a GPS receiver, does it?

Edit:

The Autocate 800 has 5 digital outputs, which could be used to remotely sound the horn, shut down the engine, etc.

trav,

he does Q'trak as well. that is the tracking side of his reply. that said if you want GSM paging / location for cheap then DEI do one.

CATE is purely an alert device nothing else.

depends on the model. if you are talking about hte old 791 and it was fully fitted then it was illegal to use half of it.

ones like the 460/480 are a different matter.

either way I wold do the autowatch and be done with it..

Are there any differences between the 456 and 446premium? Or is it a simple name change?

A few changes have been made, these are, new look remotes that use a differant language to communicate to the alarm, a few software changes to accomodate the next generation sirens (coming soon), more progammable features, and they can now be prgrammed to receive signals from Autowatch wireless PIR sensors (found in home alarms) to set your car alarm off if someone walks into your garage or carport etc. Also wireless engine immobiliser relays are coming soon! Beat That Viper!

Security In Motion and Autowatch..........NO ONE DARES COME CLOSE!

If you use a Telstra SIM card with the CATE 800 paging alarm all you need to do is register with a website called www.gofinder.net I think its about $30 for 30 views and when CATE sends you alarm message or anytime you want you go back to the website and you can track your vehicle to within a 40m radius. It basically tracks the SIM card whether its in a phone or a car alarm. Designed for men to track where there wives have gotten to I think, or the other way around lol

It doesnt only alert,it can do same as Quiktrak only cheaper and you monitor car yourself, you can lock/unlock doors via sms, you can shut off fuel supply with its own immobiliser or sound horn or off smoke bomb inside car like they do in the country where it is designed South Africa. Did a Chopper monster bike with it, customer called me back and said his wife tracked him on the Princess Hwy instead of the Pacific Hwy where he told her he was going, he got busted, lol. Try fit a Quiktrak on a motorcycle, without using a box trailor anf that will impress me.

    • Hi...so a "development" here aswell The swap is "done" and car went "test drive" BUT it seems the clutch(maybe gearbox?) is a little bit sad? I bought this clutch kit https://justjap.com/products/xtreme-heavy-duty-organic-clutch-flywheel-kit-nissan-skyline-r31-r32-r33-push-type "Problem" is that the first gear is hard to put into and it seems that the clutch is not disengaged. It was not the problem with the old clutch...(or like sometime the first gear would not get as easy specialy when the fluid was cold) So? Can it be like...bad "install" or is the clutch wrong ((it should not have been) i done research to get the right one) Or is this "normal" with new clutch and needs to be break in?
    • @Duncan I can try  and thanks i did not thought about VIN and part numbers for 33/34. @GTSBoy yeah it looks like iam gonna do that
    • Forgot to include this but this is the mid section of my steering rack that looks like it has a thread/can be turned with that notch mentioned in the post:
    • Hey everyone, Wanted to pick some brains about this issue I'm having with rebuilding my 33 rack (PN is 49001-19U05). All of the tutorials/videos I've seen online are either R34 or S Chassis racks which seem to be pretty straightforward to disassemble but this process doesnt carry over to my rack. Few of the key differences that I've noted The pinion shaft on the other racks bolt on with 3 torx bolts: Whereas my rack bolts on with 2 allen head bolts: These changes are pretty inconsequential but the main difference is how you pull the actual rack out of the housing. The other skyline/s chassis racks can be taken out by tapping the rack out of the body with a socket and it just slides right out. I'm unable to do that with my rack because there's a hard stop at the end that doesn't let the seal/shaft be tapped out. Can also see a difference in the other end of the rack where mine has a notch that looks like you're able to use a big wrench to unthread 2 halves of the rack whereas the other racks are just kinda set in with a punch. My rack: Other racks: TLDR; Wanted to know if anyone has rebuilt this specific model of steering rack for the R33 and if there were any steps to getting it done easier or if I should just give this to a professional to get done. Sorry if this post is a bit messy, first one I've done.
    • I would just put EBC back on the "I would not use their stuff" pile and move on.
