Hi all,

Am new to SAU and kinda need advise from you guys

What do all you think for this :

http://www.drive.com.au/used-cars/NISSAN/S...p;SG=-898480144

Questions

~~~~~~
1. Is Fuji MotorSport reliable as in trustworthy and not being dodgy -i.e. hidden dents, rust, marketing talk, etc if you know what i mean
2. Am currently located in Perth. What's the best method/company/procedures to ship the vehicle over?
3. Is the r34 a series 2 ? (am assuming this given that there are no red markings on the neo engine however the gauges in the interior kinda looks like a series 1 ). Are there any other ways to distinguish a series 1 from series 2?
4. Would it be recommended to acquire the said vehicle via a dealer or a private seller ?
Many thks in advance
check out http://www.www.imports101.com.au
they are a local company that imports and complies skylines and usually have a good selection of cars in japan to choose from or you tell them exactly what you are looking for and they will do their best to find it
i would hazzard a guess at the speedo being wound back so that speedo reading wont be truly accurate
Welcome to SAU.
The 34 there "looks" ok but its in sydney? By the time you get it here to perth (i use Wridgeways coz my wife works there :) ) register it etc etc i cant help but think maybe you can pick up a better deal locally from one of the perth import dealers. Not going to list them all, but Imports101 are very good, even check out Autoworx. Thats 2 that i have personally dealt with on different things and recommend them both highly.
Good luck with your purchase dude.
Cheers
Brad
How's imports101 service btw?
If the broker in Japan were to supply a bs car to the local broker over here (i.e. rust, peelign paint, not as advertsied), is there anyway i can reject the vehicle or is there a must for me to accept it regardless of the condition ?
when importing you rely on the broker to find you a car in good nick. Imports101 and Autoworx for example have good reputations for finding cars in good condition, specs etc. i bought my car from autoworx and couldnt be happier overall and mate got his 32 from imports101 and was happy as far as i know so you can be reasonably safe with these two if you go with them
are you particularly chasing a sedan?
i gots a coupe coming up for sale. soonish
Learning about them means a coupla things.
This forum is going to be godsend.. It can also be a hindrance if you let all the opinionated L platers have a say.
Easiest way is to think about the questions you may have..
So performance pathway... search forums for R34+power or r34+performance etc.
Wanna know about interiors search for that.. see if there are any issues. check out the interior group buy for leather interior. you will have to sift through pages.. but you will read about what bits break etc.
Or check the audio section..lots of people scratching interior panels etc, or removing things incorrectly and breaking them.
Its just gonna take alot of time, but the info is all there.
a few guys along the way in other parts of the country have done ALOT of the trial and error stuff on the 34's
good luck
    • Hi...so a "development" here aswell The swap is "done" and car went "test drive" BUT it seems the clutch(maybe gearbox?) is a little bit sad? I bought this clutch kit https://justjap.com/products/xtreme-heavy-duty-organic-clutch-flywheel-kit-nissan-skyline-r31-r32-r33-push-type "Problem" is that the first gear is hard to put into and it seems that the clutch is not disengaged. It was not the problem with the old clutch...(or like sometime the first gear would not get as easy specialy when the fluid was cold) So? Can it be like...bad "install" or is the clutch wrong ((it should not have been) i done research to get the right one) Or is this "normal" with new clutch and needs to be break in?
    • @Duncan I can try  and thanks i did not thought about VIN and part numbers for 33/34. @GTSBoy yeah it looks like iam gonna do that
    • Forgot to include this but this is the mid section of my steering rack that looks like it has a thread/can be turned with that notch mentioned in the post:
    • Hey everyone, Wanted to pick some brains about this issue I'm having with rebuilding my 33 rack (PN is 49001-19U05). All of the tutorials/videos I've seen online are either R34 or S Chassis racks which seem to be pretty straightforward to disassemble but this process doesnt carry over to my rack. Few of the key differences that I've noted The pinion shaft on the other racks bolt on with 3 torx bolts: Whereas my rack bolts on with 2 allen head bolts: These changes are pretty inconsequential but the main difference is how you pull the actual rack out of the housing. The other skyline/s chassis racks can be taken out by tapping the rack out of the body with a socket and it just slides right out. I'm unable to do that with my rack because there's a hard stop at the end that doesn't let the seal/shaft be tapped out. Can also see a difference in the other end of the rack where mine has a notch that looks like you're able to use a big wrench to unthread 2 halves of the rack whereas the other racks are just kinda set in with a punch. My rack: Other racks: TLDR; Wanted to know if anyone has rebuilt this specific model of steering rack for the R33 and if there were any steps to getting it done easier or if I should just give this to a professional to get done. Sorry if this post is a bit messy, first one I've done.
    • I would just put EBC back on the "I would not use their stuff" pile and move on.
